posted a message on Let's Get Realistic -- Inferno Wizard Build
Just want to get opinion about another inferno build.

From what little beta i tried, it was fun using RoF, specially during SK fight, however I think it might be more fun and increase my dps by having spells that allow me to a lot more mobility while casting.

The whole point of the new build is mobility which in my opinion should increased dps, vrs a RoF centric build like:

posted a message on Barbarian Builds
    Hi,

I have been having a lot of issues with building a barb build... considering, personally to me, barb gear just looks SOOO BADASS! that I am forcing myself to play a barb and find a build that will be fun as well as not gimp me compared to other optimal class builds.

    Ok so your build:
Here are few issues i have with your build, these are just personal opinions and i am no expert in barb nor have i done any math behind the skill sets, it just seems that way to me:

    1. Earthquake and WofB are both on 2 min cool down.. personally i really hate that, 2 mins i think is way too long time in diablo environment. Maybe using one for circumstantial need, like WofB to burn down boss but having 2 skills at 2 min cool down, does not seem optimal.

    2. I am not really a fan of passive such as Beserkers rage or Brawler just because again to me passives are suppose to be guaranteed, i.e., if i am hurt i know it will do this, or if i am attacking i know this will happen... for example if you use WofB to burn down a boss, you are not at max fury, thus you just wasted 25% damage potential.

    3. In inferno, we will have nephalems buff, which requires that we do not switch skills around. For that reason i think, you should have a build that does substantial single target dps and support aoe. Because at the end, I think, the game will be all about killing bosses/midbosses/champions, and even if you use a single target dps like frenzy to dps down a group of mobs, i think it will still do a viable job vrs using a aoe attack against a boss type mob.

Here is a build that i am mulling over:

What i want from my barb is high damage, speed, good Boss damage, some surivability (ie , no 1-2 shots kills by boss) as well as viable aoe.

    http://us.battle.net...XQkU!ZYb!cacZcb

My primary attack will be just spamming frenzy and trying to keep up the 5x buff.

When my gear is not up to par and everything is hitting me like a ton of bricks, i will be going handweapon and shield.

Once i do have good enough gear to not die or not die in few hits, i will switch the shield to another weapon.

I know its lacking aoe, however i believe with the amount of crit i have i will be able to spam Overpower, as well as i don't mind moving target to target using frenzy, if i am killing fast enough.

Any suggestions and explainable about pros/cons on changing/moving around skills will be most appreciated.

    Ty.

    Quote from Ruppgu

I would change Diamond skin rune to prism. You can cast it before Ray of Frost and be able to cast it much longer :)

I don't think Twister is a good choice in this build. You only get a fraction of the damage that twister does unless there's a perfect situation... it's so hard to control. If you insist on keeping twister I'd change the rune to Wicked Wind. It's a pretty useless skill unless you can control the twister imo... just based on using it in beta at least. If you're after an aoe slow I'd go wtih:

*Hydra - Arcane Hydra - As much as I hate Hydra, this skill actually fits perfectly for what you're looking for. Especially with the changes in patch 16. It's now really really cheap to cast (15 AP every 15 seconds) and it casts arcane orbs which will aoe slow everything for you.
*Arcane Orb - Arcane Nova. You'll get a bigger area of slow and honestly, more damage than twister.
    *Blizzard - grasping chill

nice points Ruppgu, prism sounds very good for lowing cast as well as arcane hydra for slow. I just hate the fact that hydra are so low in dps but its a cast and forget spell so, something i will try out.

So i was looking forward to trying out this build:

    http://d3db.com/tool/calculator/wizard/14268

My plan was basicly try to see if it would be possible to out dps stuff before they get to me, yea i would die alot untill i have the best gear but that is my playstyle hehe

anyways, recently, with our other discussions i found out that cold damage does now slow/chill automatically.

To me this makes blizzard useless, because as soon as dps would start, the mobs will run straight for the caster

Here is a new build i am proposing and would like some input from the community to how to maximize dps potential.

    http://d3db.com/tool/calculator/wizard/14300

The goal is to throw down few spells that have slow potential than hit the elite/champ guys with RoF and see how it goes.

    Thanks in advance.

Blizzard just became crap spell in my book. "Frozen solid" passive has only 20% chance to freeze and even if that happens only for 3 sec so thats 3 sec of 20% more damage on a 20% chance to freeze... blah.

And "Grasping chill" only slows after blizzard has ended... so it won't take any affect from "cold blooded" unless we make more effort and coordination which might be harder to do in inferno.

It might just be better to go with "disintegrate" or "arcane orb" with "temporal flux" for slow affect on a group.

just curious, if blizzard does not chill or freeze automatically does this mean "Cold Blooded" passive is a fail with blizzard?

I was going to ask about RoF as well, however in the beta i keep seeing RoF, chilling targets so i am presume "Cold Blooded" would at least work with it.

nice build, Equinox9. However, i am not sure if we really need so much defense in active skills of the monk. I think what monk is suffering from is damage shortage, also it seems to me, when playing monk, 80% of time we will end up spamming our spirit generators for damage, here is a build i have made that i think might be able to compete with other damage classes due to giving crowd control which also enhances out major damage.

    http://d3db.com/tool/calculator/monk/14000

I would really love to take seven-sided strike, i might do that if the exploding palm is not as we are thinking "250% burn damage every second for 3 second". However considering "way of the hundred fist" is already a aoe damager skill, combination of that with blinding flash and breath of heaven should allow us to stay in fight longer, as well as give boast to already high damage on the generator.

This is combination with applying "exploding palm" every 3 sec, should give us very good damage, while giving us more time on "bosses" before we might have to run out to let our cool downs come back up.

**edit: stupid copy/pasted the wrong build, fixed.

Would like your opinion on an Inferno build based around hp regeneration:

    http://d3db.com/tool/calculator/monk/13355

The build is about dash to target.
Using 3 spirit builders to regen spirit quickly as well as 24% additional damage using rotation 1, 2, 3, 4:
    (1) "Fist of thunder" (16% dodge for 2 sec)
    (2) "crippling wave" (increases damage by 10%)
    (3) "Way of the hundred fists" (big damage)
    and
    (4) "Explosive palm " (increase damage by 12%) and heals due to passive ability “Transcendence”

For follower use templar for more healing via loyalty and inspire.

The build has a lot of AOE attacks as well as dodge and damage increase for going toe to toe vrs a boss or group.

Three main issues i saw with this build is:
    1. I am not stacking dodge, so that could be a bad thing, however the way i see it unless i get insane spike damage i have enough heals from my passive, healing mantra and merc to sustain me.
    2. Single target damage skill is not present in my build
    3. Resistance, i really hated not taking "One with everything" however, depending on circumstance one of the passives can be replaced by that.

    Comments, critiques are welcome.
