It's not a bug and we are not OK with the 4 months policy. They need to iterate much faster and in smaller steps. Patch 2.3 is awesome and a lot of the changes it introduced made sense to come as one big package. Changing one set to make it from useless to actually playable is not a big package. It is an oversight, a complete failure of the design team, a waste of resources and most importantly a singleton item. Something like this can and must be pushed forward.Quote from timoseewho»
i'm okay with this one patch every 4 months thing, but i just don't understand how such a bug can't be fixed during a season lol

Same here. I have to watch my WD getting pushed of the leaderboards slowly, because I don't have any more keys, nerves and time to do yet another super failed 63+ run in which my gear becomes red. It is a stupid joke. Have rerolled Healing Monk and so I can least watch others make good progress and support them without crashing the game.

Anyone else thinks that the material distribution across the torment levels is BS? Should be more like 2 2 2 2 3 3 3 3 4 4 5 6 7 8 or sth. If you can split farm T10 then you shouldnt be bothered to do so many bounties. Also why the heck is T7 the same as T10?

Jun 22, 2015BlacKcuD posted a message on D3's Biggest Problems?Posted in: NewsQuote from Demonmonger»
I agree and disagree with our MeatHead here.
On one end you talk about end game and you have to run this or that, then you try to talk about D2 being this great game, yet all you can mention is that EVERYBODY RAN THE SAME ITEMS AS WELL.
See, that is the issue I have, D2 and D3 are nearly the same game, that is the problem. It is not that D2 was way better, or D3 is way worse, it is the fact they are the same mainstream game where players need to run certain items in order to compete.
But where I challenge and also disagree is the point of the game. Sure, you can have fun playing for 300 hours in a season for your 750-800 para, grinding with that build you say you hate, because "D3 Says So", but I would rather run the set I want to, regardless of the difficulty, because WELL IT IS FUN!
I still have a blast running EQ Barb and Jarum WD topping off in the GR35-40 range. You have fun grinding your "Chosen Set" and playing for GR60, getting burnt out with the game and upset you only have "One Set" to play the game with. Reality says there is more than one way to play the game, the problem is that society has demanded efficiency since the early 2000's which has made game streamline, and forced people to be less creative, which has lead to less release in video games and more of a chore feeling. But you do not need to do this, it is a choice you are making, there is at least 2-3 sets for every class that can run T6 and get to GR35-40, you can still gear fairly decent in this grouping, and it keeps the fun alive.
"Innovation of Societal Demands"
Thanks,
Demonmonger
I think as a casual or somewhat serious player, you can already have a lot of fun with the game and most of the points from his list will not impact you. This is about the more competitive players who really want to hit the group leaderboards and drive their charackters to the maximum.

"This sounds like a lot of fun! It can be very refreshing to re-approach the game in a different light if you've taken a break for a while or just feel the urge to try something new."
No it doesn't. The whol game is focussed around going to your extremes and pushing synergies in your char to the limit. This is what we do, this is what the game tells us to do, this is the only way you are not embarrassed playing your char, this is the way blizzard wants you to play their game. If you play on hardcore you can not easily go full on out and if you don't use sets you'll have the same problem. Sounds like double masochism to me

Apr 4, 2015BlacKcuD posted a message on Future of Area Damage, Wizard on GR 59 ClearPosted in: News
Area Damage is a viable stat in theory. The only reason why it is not is because the developers/designers/etc are too lazy or too bad to make it proc from more sources, e.g. pets. Last time I checked it didn't work with pets, but how difficult can it be to have 1/10th of your area damage proc from pets? Many spells don't scale many things which auto-gimps that spell/class/stat. In a game where almost everyone can wear any weapon and use it with almost any ability, it would just be logical that all damage increasing stats are working with everything. Maybe tune the scaling of these interactions down, so a veteran player can still optimize its gear, but for the unknowing, huge amounts of stats on their gear are effectively useless with the current system. This is espeically true for things like area damage and pets.
The second problem is: greater rift guardians are all single target fights. While I don't have a problem with that, it feels iffy, as everything in diablo, including the stat in question, revolves around doing aoe damage.

I always wonder this, do you play season or non-season, and a little advice if its possible, lets say you want to start fresh diablo, what would you chose right now for progress in GR, DH, Barb or Monk thanks -

Oct 27, 2014BlacKcuD posted a message on Build Statistics Perspective, Armchair Rifting #1Actually it's a mix of almost everything you mentioned.Posted in: News
As with the Lightning DH, gear is certainly a factor. The build requires a specific legendary in almost all slots
Boringness/Skill required to play, does usually NOT factor in. Many people love a bit more passive playstyle which the Marauder6 DH builds serve well. It is a long-range pet build in which you dont have to actively do anything. I am an avid mapper/modder and I learned this the hard way
Finally, it is a common thing, especially amongst casual players to critizie the meta and everybody who follows it. Amongst all the people I talked to, everybody except f*cking 1 was just outright jealous, mainly because of the fact they were not willilng to invest time and skill into the game like the top-players and then they blame it on the "stupid boring meta blabla". This can be observed in a lot of games in which you supposedly have a highly customizable charackter including Mechwarrior Online, Diablo 3, Guild Wars 2, ArcheAge, and I bet there are many more. -

Stupid T10 crafting sh!t! Doing bounties all day. The same fucking act. Then again the next day. Then finally I get the fucking boots in ancient with good rolls and they have DEX on them so I can't use them. Fucking off-class stupid shit fuck!
New day, new hope, new tries: hellfire amulets. I just craft 38. Only 4 were ancient and all 4 of them suck monkey balls. It is only because my current amulet was so god damn awdul that I now use one of them. The passive doesn't even affect my playstyle of build.
This is getting ridiculous. If you don't have an organized clan, you can basically forget optimizing your LON gear.

I think you didn't fully get where I was going with this. Most of my changes are not inteded to do what you say and many of them are solving problems or aknowledging things you said!
Gearing up: Yes, it is faster to gear up now and that is fine. However, my suggestions are only relevant for people who have already gotten far into the season and can only improve themselves through perfectly rolled ancient items. My changes also include a pretty hard Kadala nerf for when you first start a new season so that is actually something that you should like. For example, I suggested removing the ancient base chance from Kadala and in the beginning your blood shard cap wont even be high enough to purchase all slots!
Artisan gems wont require any inventory space. It is a single slot item which you craft once and then carry to your artisan of choice. For crafting happy players, you will repeat this process 1-2 more times for other artisans to get the most out of your time in the very very long run.
Crafting mats: Having different crafting materials (and needing thousands of them) only cramps up your stash space. They are also interchangeable using the Cube. Just reduce the total amounts and make it only one. Seems only the next logical step.
Getting Bounty Mats from kanais Cube: yes it is a nice change of gampelay, but it also requires you to have an alt which moves fast. The recipe should be there to fill blanks or recycle your old resources at a really bad ratio, similar to how legendary rerolling works. That isn't efficient either, but if you are a hardcore player and have lots of mats, why not save you the trouble give you something to do with it. The recipe must be very expensive and then all is fine.
Getting off-class items: there is nothing more frustrating to get off-class rolls. Yes, it's cool to sometimes find an ancient off-class item and be like: hey maybe I should level an alt. But in all honesty: most of the time you are just frustrated about another wasted item from Kadala. If you farm a specific bounty cache item for days to only have it drop as an ancient off-class with perfect rolls, you will think differently about this.
As you rightfully said, diablo 3 should be about doing things you like and progressing your charackter. Doing bounties and crafting hundreds of hellfire amulets is not very fun (in the long run). Having an increased ancient chance on your artisans saves time for high end players only, it doesn't break the game.
Paragon main stat on 1000 rather than 800 is just number tweaking. The reason why I went with 1000 in my original proposal is that reaching 800 is sort of a milestone and it is bad game design to instantly punish the player for achieving that.
Same goes for things like increased blood shard cap from group play. Your charackter doesn't automatically break the game just because you did some GRs for fun with your friend. It only increases your cap. Why not reward players who play the full spectrum of the game? I for one don't enjoy doing speedruns, someone else doesn't enjoy group meta play. So why not give all of them somthing to progress and have fun their way.

My wishlist for Diablo III Patch 2.5
Artisan Legendary Gems
Advanced players can find a new legendary gem recipe which can be crafted at the Jeweler for a high cost. These gems can be given to your artisans and Kadala for unique crafting related bonuses. Once crafted, these new legendary gems can be ranked up like any other gem and also provide additional effects once they reach rank 25.
How to acquire the new legendary artisan gems?

I took courses in game design while at university, but all numbers here are just rough estimes from the top of my head. I have given them quite a bit of thought, but for actual use they most certainly need adjustment. Let me know what you think below.

The answer to all your questions is yes. You can do absurd damage with the dagger in cube and pinpoint accuracy rune.

Yes everything bump. I don't feel like copy/pasting all my stuff and honestly everyting has been said already. Quin is 100% spot on with his rant. They should rather boost the skills themselves.

I liked patch 2.3 and patch 2.4 will be so much better. This will be the biggest patch in Diablo 3 in terms of content and balance.
