posted a message on LMFAO Natayla Set Set Bonus To Stay
Well, inflation will make Natalya worth more, but so will your good drops, and you are bound to get one some day. Amount of players in D3 will slowly decrease, with most people cashing out their gear, which gives more sets circling in economy per player. Then you will have players who have obtained the set, but will upgrade it for one with better rolls, and guess where old piece will land? There is no ladder resets in here, so in 'some' time, everypony will be able to afford it, even if with crappy stats.

I'm fairly sure IaS prenerf was as good as Increased Casting Speed when it comes how much damage you could get from it, just that it had breakpoints you were aiming at (would it be so hard to make cap same way in D3, sigh).

I can certainly call Inferno endgame, or more specifically, progression. Seeing like they 'fixed' 0 vit sorc, mantra spamming monks and invulnerable DHs, I can say they do want to force players into gearing/RMAHing char to beat it. You could break Diablo 2 in so many ways, especially after rune words, Diablo 3 is way, way more restrictive.

Lastly, there is this Bashiok quote, which makes me wonder about this whole thing in first place:

I'm not sure if buffing the rest of the game to keep from nerfing one set bonus is the right call, but it's certainly one to be considered.

If I learned one thing from Blizzard from 5 years of playing wow, set bonuses never are extras, you are balanced around them. I, too, just can't wait for batch of nerfs to DHs not rocking 4-set.

INB4 Diablo is not WoW. Tell that to IaS and other nerfs when they decided adding gear farming requiring 'endgame' was good idea.

posted a message on Act 1 or act 3 farming w/ the hotfix?
People were doing Act 1 over Act 3 because the top loot ratio was 1:4. Now it is even better at 3:10, as a glass cannon DH I'd rather zip at 60% movement speed and one shot everything in A1 rather than try and keep dying on A3. I may try doing A2 later on, since those damn cats and wind tornadoes no longer one shot me, but invisible snakes and gollums in sewers, hmm...

I actually could farm A3 in half of areas, but it would require getting back into ultra-defensive mode to not get one shotted, and those reflect mobs are just awful, together with changing build and getting rid of Vault, meh.

posted a message on Watch Tower nerfed?
Spawn rate seems just like it was (not a problem to remake game anyway), but content.. ugh. 3/3 times only one pack inside, and Reple-will-drop-blues-anyway chest. Not sure if RNG or nerf, but it was pretty much only dungeon in game that was special in some way, now everything is 2-levels boringness (or event spawn, which don't reward anything but blues/1.6k gold, pathetic).

Am I the only one wanting 5-level dungeon with small rooms but guaranteed champs akin to Countess Tower?

posted a message on Hotfixes June 28th, Increased Drop Rates for High-End Items, Nephalem Valor Boss Change
Anypony else selling all their bank of Shimmerring Essences? Price dropped from 2,1k pre-1.03 to 1.8k, Tears from... 1k even I believe, down to 100g. I expect them to dive with such huge increase of 60+ gear.

posted a message on Increasing Gem Drops
I don't see point in farming them tbh. Flawless Squares are nearly free on AH (<1k per one), while Squares go for their vendor price, you're better of going straight for gold. Blizz so far failed in making any gem sink, since Jeweler is pure gold sink atm.

Edit: 3 week old thread, ohh... nvm

posted a message on Melee Classes in Inferno, patch 1.0.3
To be honest, while I don't know how gear dependent is Barb, I could roflstomp Act1 as Monk with 500-600dps weapon, shield and 400+ all res, including standing in most crap on ground.

Just hit the AH and get some decent (not top) gear. Nearly everypony is farming first Act1 now, even those who were doing Act3 before drop change, and you get streams of yellows that make possible to buy decent starting gear for pennies (like ActII clearing 200k gear Monk).

posted a message on Best Solo Farmer after 1.0.3 patch
If I may ask, what does make Barbarian such better farm class over Monk? I'm a bit bored of my DH so I was looking for something different to gear up, have 60 Monk (shitty gear, stuck in a2 prenerf) and 30 Barb, and wondering if it's worth leveling him up (will do it for Achie anyway later).

I mean, the above thing sounds yummy, but so does crit cyclone build. So what is it?

posted a message on Nephalem Valor - a possible revamp
Change mf boost to 10% per stack

5 stacks, same as it is, 1 extra random rare per champ pack
    15 stacks, 2 extra rares
    30 stacks, 3 extra rares
Kill bosses with those stacks, those extra rares are guaranteed ilvl61-63 depending on act you are on.

There, you have system that promotes exploring absolutely every small corner of the map, including those with Soul Lashers and phasebeasts. You can think it's more time consuming, but that's how Blizz want this game played. They nerfed boss drops because people were doing too much of them after stacking to 5. Now people don't want to kill them, so they will buff them, but if people repeat doing boss rushes, nerf again.

Literally, Blizz won't stop fiddling with drop system until you will be farming whole act, both champions and bosses, and it would be much better if they made it by giving rewards to those players, instead of nerfing everything else (like now) until every farming method is dull and unrewarding.

    Quote from Ashes

Could we just get a sticky that explains what random is so we can link all the posts like this to it?

This might be a fluke, but how do you want to confirm change in any randomness in game without consulting with community to see bigger picture?

There were people bashing act3 farmers that they are just having Onyxia Breath problem until Bashiok came and confirmed 8% is indeed a nerf compared to what it was before...

I had Exalted Sovereign Mail drop in one run, since I had it learnt I just sold it to charsi. NEXT elite pack on same run I kill, it drops again... ok, I'll sell it again, this time... harder.

20 minutes later still on same run, it dropped.

    ...I haven't slept that day.

posted a message on Patch 1.0.3a Tomorrow - Official Patch Notes, 1.0.3b Soon
    Quote from mllkman

    What gold exploit? O_O

We have found some monsters and objects were still dropping gold, it has been corrected. In addition, each monster have a chance of dropping Cursed Bill, that will be picked up automatically like gold before. The Bill will lock your ability to repair equipment before you get rid of them by paying them up. We hope this change will keep value of gold from over inflation.

Base radius of Picking Up have been increased to 50 yards. Items that increase Item pickup radius will now decrease it instead. We think that together with previous change, this should make the affix slightly more sought after.

posted a message on Few questions about Magic Find
From what I observed, magic find don't only increase 'chance' of better quality, it can literally push some of the items off table. With 160 base mf, I no longer find broken (grey) items from mobs, and couldn't get them from lootables either until 1.03 when they started appearing again (since mf stopped working on them). That would mean mf 'adds' to the roll for quality instead of multiplying, wasn't it also the case in D2 where you could have too much mf to get drops you want?

Again, my observation and theory, don't know how it really works.

Oh, it is beatable. But is it beatable in skillset you farm elites? After nerf to Valor stacks on bosses, Blizz 'noticed' more player skipping them, so you can imagine it will get buffed back on. But if boss itself remain as it is, I doubt people will bother.
