posted a message on Improving Rune System
What cripples the current rune system is, that you cant do the following:

"I love that rune skill!, I'll improve it so it becomes stronger!".

I loved that in... almost every game out there, from Diablo 2 to Disgaea.

    (Yes, I love Disgaea)

This may surprise you, but, it's not about PvP, it's about how Blizzard treats us as idiots. It could be PvP, or AH 2.0, or 200+ legendaries items, you name it.

For some, PvP is essential, not my case, but what pisses me off, is the way they lie to us, when the truth lies in money affairs.

I bet that if you take 100 D3 players (who also played D2 and D1) and have them describe how they would want D3 to be, you will get 100 different answers and if those people try to cooperate, compromise their "wants" and make an "up-to-date" diablo game, you will have D3 as it is now, more or less, minus the auction house, maybe.

    Also,
Three things were certain about D3, even before it's release:
    1. It would sell well and a lot of people will like it.
    2. A lot of people would whine and compare it with D2 (yup, I did that a bit when D2 was released and compared it with D1 but then I got over it quickly! :P )
    3. People would whine and cry about pvp for a) it wasn't released on time and B) when it is released there will be a massive rage because a certain build from a certain class will be slightly better.
(ps. PvP was never a main focus for blizzard in diablo games. it was ALWAYS a treat, an extra feature, a bonus, a way to say thank you. Instead, atm with all the whining taking place and the massive criticism around the corner, they will have to focus even more on that)

    Two things.

One, what exactly were you crying about D2 compared to D1, D2 was an upgrade in every way.

Two, the auction house ruining Diablo is a huge misconception. If you wanted to spend hours in the trade channels for gear in D2 you could, you weren't forced into it. No one would be complaining about the auction house if we could find gear in game, that is the issue with the auction house, it's the only place to find gear. The auction house is a huge improvement to trading.

Not in every way, gameplay wise, yes, no doubt, however, D1 had an atmosphere that D2 couldn't even scratch.

I don't usually make this kind of threads, seriously, but.. after reading the news about PvP... it is.. beyond frustrating.

And I couldn't care less about PvP, to me, the PvE aspect of the game is more important, but, even so, they are a hell of a company (or at least they were) and they take amateurish decisions like this one...

    Sigh.../

posted a message on 1.05 Non AH class
I'm happy to see more ppl wanting to experience a non-AH mode of this game.

I'm playing a WD since release, without touching the AH, and I hope this change will impact in a good way, lets see what happens.

So much QQ. Why is it people always constantly have to bitch and complain whenever something dont go their way? Youngsters these days a really to used to be the center of the world. If Diablo 3 is such an unfair game, with such an unfair game ruining auction house. Go have fun in Torchlight 2 or path of exiles.

Oh man, you are a living fallacy, here, one more.

    Quote from asdfywea

why can't people understand that the AH is simply a very convenient way of trading? in D2, when you got a good item you wouldn't use, you trade it by joining trading games and lost a couple of days tying to trade it, sometimes, less, sometimes more, the AH makes that process for you, but hey, don't wanna use it? go to trade channels, and TRADE. As simple as that.

Because... its not?, this argument is getting extremely old.

You may ask why, and its simple, look:

I played D3 for 200 hours, more or less, I got 4 characters 50+ and a WD who is paragon 8. You know how much costs a 1100-1200 dps with +int weapon in the AH?, 10-30k, you know when was the last time I saw a weapon with those stats dropped in the floor?, never, you know how much time it takes me to get 10-30k in Act 1 inferno?, 20 mins if I'm lazy.

Like you see, there is no comparison between effort -> result. In D2, you needed to trade something useful for something useful, there was no: "ok, Ill farm gold for a day and I will buy a ZOD rune, no problem". Nope, you had to have something of a similar value.

Don't get me wrong, I see the potential of trading, its useful when you don't want to level up other characters or when you just want to trade it for something your current player needs, I get it, and I'm not against that.

    The AH/RMAH.. is completely different.

posted a message on Loot is still breaking this game
Is interesting how almost all of the posts I'm seeing lately provides a better alternative than the actual game loot system.

The problem I see, is that most of the solutions to make the game more exiting, go against the AH. Right now, like many already said, the AH is mandatory to max a player's gear, cuz, you can selectively pick your gear from it, stat by stat, you just need money, or gold. This is destroying the idea of the game itself, I think Blizzard didnt think too much about it. I know there are ppl at there that likes to play the AH game, but.. for a lot of us, thats not fun, a lot of ppl want to see that dark-orange color in the floor, and be exited about it!, thats whats Diablo series is about!, not a cold, economy-based AH... come on.

posted a message on Leeching beasts.. useless?
    Quote from K21Nova

I killed inferno Diablo a couple days ago on my WD. I've got around 2500 regen, some 3500 or so thorns, 800-ish resists, using 1h+mojo so armor is a bit low, 45K health and 22.5K DPS.

My pets rarely die on anything. On Diablo the only things that killed them were the fire pool (run away and port your pets to you), and the clone which sometimes killed the dogs.

The thing about leeching beasts is that with it you gain 50% (10% on inferno) of the thorns damage as life to the beasts, as it counts as their damage.

All the four other characters of mine, each 60 and in different acts of inferno, have basically been quite underwhelming, as I'm very bad in making money in the AH. However, I just started buying these int/vit/res all/regen gear, some pieces with thorns, each piece less than 100K, and I had found a 1100dps Echo (the fear is very nice), and when I started hitting inferno act 2 and 3, and realizing I can pretty much kill anything with no problems whatsoever, I knew I had something special on my hands.

My gear cost like 700K or less (I did find the legendary mace though, of course), and I can do a full clear of acts 3 and 4 with 0 deaths and no skipping on anything.

I'm not sure whether having leeching beasts makes a difference though. I've not tried the other dogs, since these ones seem to do the job quite well. :)

Why is it that ppl 90% of the time post to show off their AH'ed gear?, the only useful part of your post is that they heal throught thorns, wich I didnt know, the rest is gear-pennis.
