So your complaints are boiling down to the lack of variety in spells, now? How many are there truly in a rotation for a game like WoW? You have a select few that you rotate through for "efficiency" to maximize your DPS. Don't try to say you use all of them, because as a rogue I raided most of WotLK spamming 3-4 buttons (maybe 5.) Yes there are a couple utility abilities on top of that like Vanish and what-not. But honestly 60% of the spells you acquire aren't any good for the spec you choose. (i.e. Sinister Strike is useless for Assassination spec which uses Mutilate).

There is a variety of spells in GW2. It just depends what weapon you choose for your "spec." Thief for example can combine different weapons for different combinations of abilities. (i.e. Gun + Dagger). Who's to say what combination is best? It's sort of preference based at first, but eventually I'm sure there will be a "best" combination. Then you have utility abilities to unlock with Trait points on top of that.

Maybe they're a bit clunky, but they're a lot more fluid than previous MMOs I've played (Star Wars, Rift, countless F2P). And so what that you "max" out your weapons fairly quickly. It would be boring beyond belief if it took too long to level up each weapon. Like spamming Sinister Strike building up useless combo points until you could learn Eviscerate level of boring.

Character depth is also not only about your abilities, but also the character themselves. They're actually pretty interesting to follow in the main storyline (which is unique depending on race, and on what choices you made during the character creation.) But I forget that storyline doesn't matter when there's stuff to kill and buttons to smash on the keyboard.

There are fun activities to participate in, as I briefly went over in my previous post. If you don't enjoy anything in the game then it's not the games fault that it doesn't meet your expectations. Because they must be ridiculously high if you can't find anything fun in a game as open and diverse as GW2. If the content doesn't interest you, then you're looking into the wrong game genre, I'd presume.

This is my 2 cents on the game, showing people the "light" from my perspective.

I don't really see what the point of the thread is... are you trying to convince people it's a bad game? It's really opinion vs. opinion here. As a casual player that doesn't really care for raiding or PVP, I've found GW2 to be a really great game for me. I can run around and collect Vistas, Waypoints, Points of Interests, run into local events and pitch in. I can play for a bit and feel like I've accomplished something towards making my character better. There are dungeons that I haven't touched yet but plan to try one out pretty soon just to see what it's like.

The world is gorgeous and gigantic. I've never played another game with such huge cities to run around in. I've discovered there are a lot of people that roleplay on my server as well, which is pretty awesome. I've stumbled across a few pretty good RP's and just sat around and read what was happening.

I realize the game isn't for everyone. No game is, really. But as a game without a subscription fee, I can see myself playing quite a bit of it, returning to it from time to time if I ever get bored. Much like Diablo 3, which I still enjoy; just have other games I'd rater spend my time in.

Sucks you didn't enjoy it, good luck finding something you do like.

Looks really cool! I'm jealous of the black dye. :P I manage to find some white dye, though. That was a pretty awesome moment. :D I kind of feel like the guy from Assassins Creed running around in this outfit, haha.

I started up a Thief and like it so far. I've been trying out the different weapons they can use and so far my favorite is the double pistols!

I haven't tried WvW yet, I've mostly been questing and gathering all of the Point of Interests and Vistas, as well as the jumping puzzles in each zone. I'm going to try out the level 30 Catacombs dungeon tonight, I think. If I can find a group for it.

I finally finished all of the starter zones the other day and started working on the level 15-25 level zones. After doing the starting zones along with some crafting I'm currently level 32! I also found a few more dye, including Brick, which is an incredibly pretty red. My character's starting to look pretty awesome as well. :D

Thinking about trying out the level 30 dungeon. Maybe tomorrow, though. :)

posted a message on Free Lil' XT Pet.
I just received an e-mail from Blizzard notifying me that the World of Warcraft Remote thing just went free, and to thank me for previously being subscribed to it they sent me a code for a free Lil' XT pet. If you're interested let me know. I already have the pet on my account!

    Edit:

No One has expressed interest, and I don't feel like keeping the e-mail forever. So if you're interested here's the code:

As of 08/31/12 @ 2:00pm CST it hasn't been used.

I personally love the colors I have on my pirate outfit there. "Midnight Sky" "Dewdrop" and "Sand" along with "Taupe." The Sand and Dewdrop go together really nice on most outfits. :)

The hat on my outfit makes me laugh, though, since the feather on there is about the size of my Asuran. :D

Standing next to a Norn. Lol. Asuran are ridiculously small!

P.S. - The Puzzle in Queensdale is absolutely awful. Had to get a party for the 2 king slimes in there. Ha ha.

So I have this story to tell and figured I'd share it here.

I was working on the Goemm's Lab Puzzle Achievement, which is pretty tedious. I was on the Chilly section of the puzzle and noticed a dead character waiting to be resurrected. Started to resurrect him as another player hopped up behind me. The player on the ground says "Wait!" right as I start to resurrect, and all of a sudden I get blasted by a chunk of ice. I noticed the Ice Elemental elite up on the platform ahead and jump my way over to kill it.

I did all these crazy jumps and had a dodge that almost sent me off the edge, and the player that was behind me resurrected the guy on the ground and we're all about to kill it, then all of a sudden I'm flying off the platform. Turns out the monster had a knock back. I felt SO cool managing all that, then it didn't matter anyway. Ha ha!

I've been having such a blast with this game. My Elementalist is level 25. I've been going through all of the starter areas and only have the Charr area left. Then I'll move onto the level 15 zones.

I also played around with the Black Lion Trading Company, which is the cash shop. It turns out you can trade gold (in-game currency) for the diamonds (what real money becomes) or vice-versa, which I thought was pretty cool. I spent the $50 for the 4000 diamonds and spent the majority of it expanding the amount of bags I could carry (think WoW bags). The most of my diamonds went towards dyes and to turn my Asura into a little pirate. :D

I don't normally spend $$ in cash shops. But I decided to spend as much as I would have to purchase the game. Since I received my copy as a gift.

I'm loving my Asura. The starter zone is so much fun! Ha ha. The robots you repair in the beginning were so funny. The character animations are so nice too. :D

I'm about level 12 now and my character still looks awesome thanks to being able to dye your gear whenever. It seems to keep the colors you picked at the character creation by default.

The combat stance is so adorable too. XD I love her ears stand up during combat.

I finally got around to starting my Asura. I'm playing on Ehmry Bay. My Asura's name is Tralari, an Elementalist that favors Water. :D

Post a picture of your character and maybe some people will end up on the same server!

These types of videos always seem fake. Why would he upload the video with the audio?? Make millions off of lets plays? Maybe if you're famous like PewDiePie or Athene.
