posted a message on Skills deal x% more damage affix
If I get an item that says "Lightning skills deal x% more damage" and I have a weapon that has +lightning dmg on it would the damage of the weapon get a boost or will it only increase the damage from my spells?

posted a message on Millions and millions of gold....
What I do is I just farm keys for the infernal machine on MP3 and pick up everything Blue and up. I keep and sell mediocre rares for 50k+ depending on how bad it is, the rest I salvage and sell the crafting mats and tomes I get. In the last 10 hours or so I've made 3 mil. Its not the fastest way to make gold but it's consistant and I've been steadily increasing.

I found an 870 dps dagger with 700 LoH on it. Also found a nice amulet with 150 or so dex, 400 LoH and Poison Res on it. I have found other really good items too in Act 1, just those are the only I remember as I currently have those equiped.

Its an ok idea, but the only way to make it not too good is to have every 5 stacks give 1 more rare from a boss (instead of every one), or maybe even every 10 past the first 5 give an extra rare. This would force you to explore quite a bit more and not cause a huge influx of rares, but still provide a little more benefit to exploring.

You can still get new skills. But regarding items imagine situation that you are grinding around and after a year you have found your lvl 60 ubber item and you are so happy when 1 day later they release an expansion and your ubber items is not ubber anymore and you have only two options now of either grinding for another year just to meet another expansion or to buy new ubbers on RAHM if you want them to stay ubber. I think it would suck, don't you ?

You're right I'd rather get a new expansion with no new items at all...

What a ridiculous hypothetical situation, are you actually saying you don't want to see newer and better items in the expansion, because you don't want to have to try to earn them.

Can you even read what I wrote! Do you want to get an item which is useless as soon as you find it as it was replaced by a new $%^£& difficult to find another item from the expansion? Do you?

Personally, yes I would. I would not want a stagnant item pool across expansions.

I'll propose a hypothetical situation to you too. Would you like to find your "uber" item the first day you hit inferno. Then you have to wait an entire year to ever get new gear again. But lets say they do what you want, and introduce no new items with each expansion. Well, stinks for you. You now have nothing to do in the game after you see the new content once because you've had all the best items since day one. Do you want that?

Did you ever experience D2? (that's not a troll question, honest curiosity) They added a ton of new items in that with the expansion, yet kept level cap and difficulty the same :-) And because you didn't reach 99 by a long shot after just one playthrough of Hell it all worked out with the extra act. Personally I'm hoping for the same. Don't really see the need to go higher than 60 really.

Yes, I did play D2, for many years actually. But the level cap was not the point that I was arguing against. The point was that NOT adding new gear in each expansion was an awful idea. D2: LoD added new items. So should the expansion of D3.

As to Rozmata, there should never be an end to the addition of new items with expansions. What you are saying is like if in real life, you will never get a smart phone because a couple of months after you buy the best one, they will come out with a new one.

Also, while my situation is improbable, it is not impossible. Yours, too, is hypothetical. While as time goes on it is more likely to drop, that does not mean that my situation is completely moot because you don't think it will happen. It WILL happen to someone on some character, whether it be their first, or there 10th. While it won't happen to everyone, it will eventually happen. The situation is still completely possible and technically just as likely to happen as yours is. An item has the same chance to drop on any kill at any time. The more you kill does not change the drop chance of the item, given your stacks of valor remains consistent.

posted a message on DiabloFans Calculator Build Contest (ONE POST ONLY)
    Build: http://us.battle.net...YVdh!ZUW!ZcZZcc

This build is for the monk. The idea for it is to minimize incoming damage through the use of dodge supported by healing through spirit use. Many of the skills increase dodge chance. It has been designed for hardcore inferno mode, and assuming there are no diminishing returns on stacking stats. The resistance passive is taken so you may stack 1 resistance and get full benefit for all others, hopefully allowing more items with either dodge or offensive stats rather than items with many different resistances. Killing power may be a bit low, but hopefully the lack of damage recieved will allow for longevity and end in killing mobs.

The rune on mantra of evasion will hopefully allow for a lot of damage with the stacking of dodge. Might be tough to keep all the dodge up from the skills as the durations are low. Dashing strike is there as an escape ability, but also for use as a damager if there is no sign of death coming soon.

Crippling wave is to be used off CD to try and keep enemies debuffed to reduce incoming damage.

Blinding flash is used as another escape ability. The rune is there to help kill enemies while you run away and passively heal, if needed. Can also be used on one large pack while you take care of another pack.
