I don't believe that the PTR server is even up right now, but you need to run the PTR launcher if you're still using the old launcher, or swap the D3 client to PTR using the drop down menu if you're using the new Beta Bnet launcher.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

I think the big problem is that people look at the way loot drops are in the console version, and imagine that's what it's going to be like in Loot 2.0. It's a console game, it's meant to give quick gratification, because it's doubtful that in 2 years the same people will still be playing it. They've got to get you your quick fix. I highly doubt the PC version is going to be even remotely close, but right now the drop rates in D3 are horrendous. I've still got all but like 6 of the fiery brimstone I've ever DE'd, some of which came from rares early on in the game, and I think I'm sitting on 24 in my stash. That's roughly 600 hours of farming with nearly nothing to show for it. For me, it's impossible for Loot 2.0 to break the game, because in my opinion it can only go up from where it is right now.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

People can already farm paragon levels now for the patch so that shouldn't be a big deal.
I'm hoping RoS releases after the AH is closed but I would like patch 2.0 to release sometime in February though. That should give me more motivation to farm paragon levels before the expansion releases lol.
Yes, but with a cap. If they released Loot/Paragon 2.0 tomorrow, for instance, by the time they actually got around to releasing the expansion there would be people who would be way farther ahead than currently possible. Believe me, I want to see it as soon as possible, because I'd like to have some motivation to play again. I just don't have high hopes for it.

Unfortunately, I also believe that they won't release the Loot 2.0 patch until the auction house is down, most likely same day. Blizzard has a pretty regular pattern for pre-expansion patches, and it feels pretty safe to assume that the current plan is to release RoS soon after the auction house goes down. I don't feel like releasing Loot 2.0 before the AH shutdown would be a bad thing, but since that same patch is supposed to include Paragon 2.0 as well, I doubt they'll be releasing that so early that people could be farmed to immensely high levels before the expansion.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Just look at it like this. If you play self-found D3 right now, it's generally pretty agonizing. It's not just hard to find good items for your favorite character, it's hard to find good items, period. I typically play this game with 3 friends, and after reaching Inferno, I think we've found a total of 10 items to swap between each other. We aren't hardcore farmers, we aren't ridiculously efficient, but I mean, that's 4 sets of loot, and we're finding nothing. 400-600 hours of playtime on our mains each, and only one of us has ever found something truly amazing. Maybe our lucks just been awful, and you've had a different experience, but I'd personally rather see loot raining from the sky than never finding it at all.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from Stephenk291I don't see the point on saving items to reroll once the mystic hits. They haven't said anything about the mystic coming with loot 2.0 nor do I believe it will.
They actually have said something about it. http://www.diablofans.com/blizz-tracker/topic/267968-the-new-expansion/ and what they say there is that they plan to hold the mystic back until the expansion, so you're right about it not coming with Loot 2.0.

Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from ratmaz313People are guessing a year until we see RoS. I say sooner...a lot sooner. Blizzard already gave us the info for RoS instead of holding it for Blizzcon. Which means it could not wait. Sure they will talk about it at Blizzcon but they have bigger NEWS there and don't wanna waste time with D3 then. ALSO...we all have already seen in game of RoS, so another year to do what??? Scratch their ass!!! I think not! We'll see RoS in about 4-6 months...maybe a bit sooner.
Diablo 3's gameplay trailer was released in 2008, and the game was released in 2012. Don't let a little bit of gameplay fool you into believing it's a sign of progress. They obviously had a lot more to do then than they do now, 4 entire acts, 5 total classes with all those skills/runes. Closed Beta went live in September of 2011, and was in beta for 8 months. It took them 4 years from having a game that was ready for a gameplay teaser to having the actual game, including 8 months of beta. Don't let yourself be teased, but keep up the hope of an earlier release always.

While I agree with most of what is said here, I wouldn't completely rule out the idea that they may alienate those who choose not to buy the expansion. Someone made a reference to WoW damage to back up there point, but that's a double-edged sword in and of itself. Developers in WoW have constantly stated that they balance classes/content based upon the new endgame of an expansion, which is why you get so many people complaining about being blown up at low levels in PvP. Blizzard puts all of their focus on whatever is new, and barring game breaking glitches/bugs, rarely go back to tune earlier parts of the game. All I'm saying is, don't put too much faith in Blizzard being fair to those who choose not to buy the expansion, they have a history of punishing those who don't spend money on their shiny new things.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Just so you know for future reference, it's spelt saw and which, and also, commas are added directly after the last word without a space in between, and then a space is added after it before the next word. The same applies for fullstops as well.Quote from kebapmanagerSo , 1 month ago I sow a video wich was saying...

Where are you seeing this? I read it as whenever a monster dies and drops an item normally, not when a normal monster dies and drops an item.
