posted a message on Barbarian/Wizard beta skill build showcase (youtube)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCCB_mafcD8
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9WKtuu10p4

These are two short videos I did a few weeks ago, showcasing a few different builds possible below the level 13 beta cap for the barbarian and wizard. I briefly explain each build and their abilities, then demonstrate how the build works in a short fight. I got a more positive reaction than I thought I would from posting beta footage after the beta had already been out for so long, so I thought I'd share.

I was tempted to do additional videos for the monk, witch doctor, and demon hunter, but I don't play those classes nearly as much, and I feel that someone who has a passion for any of those classes could do a much better build showcase video than I could, so I think I'll keep it as just these two for now.

Let me know what you guys think!

posted a message on [April Fools] Resource system changes and leaked cutscene found
a few days ago I discovered that one of my friends somehow had not heard of diablo 3's release date. On April 1st, I told him the release date was may 15th. At first he was very excited, but then he stopped, stared hard at me, and said "wait, this is an april fools, isn't it?" and with a big smile on my face, I said "yes, you got me!"

    I still haven't corrected him

Why chatrooms and other social features are not used in D3.

the real reason chatrooms aren't used in diablo 3 is because they haven't been added in

I'm actually more okay with the change than I thought I'd be. Instead of MF stackers being horrible burdeons on your party essentially sponging off your hard work for better loot, they sacrifice their own killing power and give everyone better loot. Not too bad actually

posted a message on DiabloFans Calculator Build Contest (ONE POST ONLY)
    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#bQSdUR!ZVY!ZbcZaZ

I call it the barbarian crit blender. Leap attack is runed so that upon landing, everyone is pulled right to you. The bulk of your damage will be done with revenge and overpower, with whirlwind to fill the gaps. The entire build is very tanky, and emphasizes crit, lifesteal, and a ton of armor. Ideally this build would use a mace, and maybe a shield in nightmare and up. It is a very high risk high reward build, though I'm not sure if this build will hold up in inferno

I didn't even know she was in Mass Effects until now...Maybe because I space-race through the sidequests without really paying attention to what they say or sound like :b

Loved her in VM: Bloodlines though

her role in bloodlines is my favorite, with azula a close second and jeanne coming in third. Her voice acting of therese and jeanette is one of the most memorable parts of the game (with the most memorable being that fucking ocean side hotel, put me on edge for the rest of the entire game)

    www.imdb.com/name/nm0217221/

Grey DeLisle has pretty much been unofficially confirmed (by those with sharp ears and a beta key) to be the voice actor for diablo 3's female wizard. Why is this freaking awesome? Well the link I posted above contains a fuckton of names for roles she's done, so I'll just extract a few noteworthy ones.

Azula - Last Airbender ( Most people have already heard wizard = azula by now, but wait there's more)
    Jeanne - Bayonetta.
Jeanette/Therese - Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines.
Velanna/Namaya/Danella/Vigil Private - Dragon Age: Origins
    Nasanna Dantius - Mass effect/Mass effect 2

She also plays roles in a lot of kids cartoons and a ton of star wars games.

Is anyone else as excited as I am just for the voice acting? I was hung up between barbarian and wizard as my first class for a long time, but now I'm pretty sure I'm going to roll wizard just for that crazed powerhungry voice, it's so fitting for the wizard.

posted a message on Diablo 3 wishlist: Act zero
    Quote from nave098

Id like to see the secret greed level actually be in the game /crosses fingers. As long as the secret cow level in D2 but this is more of a cave/dungeon style where you see gold scattered throughout the cave as decoration of course and making your way through and through of hordes of goblins finally reaching the end of this level only to meet General Greed, a hulking sweat ridden goblin ready to die protecting his bountiful chests. I can see him dressed lavishly in gold and jewelry and a crown all shining bright with the gold finish dual-wielding possibly a kings golden scepter and a golden longsword. This General will put up a hard fight but not too hard for the person who has downed many of hells minions.

    :D

this is also a pretty awesome idea. All those little treasure goblins opening up their portal to greed's domain. I mean, I pretty much kill hundreds of things just to grab their gold and loot, if I don't deserve a trip to greedland, nobody does.

    Sounds pointless, really.

    Quote from Kam

Act zero would be a break from the usual mayhem and demon slaughtering, and would help you appreciate the history behind your hero and what they do.

    I'm sorry.

Did you say "a break from the usual mayhem and demon slaughtering" ....?

Like I said, entirely optional. Some people would really love to take a break from straight up slaughter and learn something about their character, and others would not.

posted a message on So whats the Point of Low lvl uniques if re-rolling is pointless?
I'd imagine the point of low level uniques would be to use then if you find them at a low level, and when you're done, put them up at a reasonable price so that someone else rolling an alt can use it before they too hands it down through the auction house

posted a message on Diablo 3 wishlist: Act zero
I thought about having it appear in normal mode, but the problem with that is at level 1 you only have one ability, which means in order to not jack up the intended level progression of act 1, act 0 would need to keep you at level 1 the entire time. It's hard to feel like your character is becoming powerful enough to take on the world on their own when all they have to show for it is one ability. I mean, could you imagine the epic showdown between the wizard and the archmage if all she had was magic missile? Boooring. By having it unlock at nightmare and downleveling your character for the duration of act 0, unlocking levels at predetermined points of the act, your character could start at the weak "I only have one ability" stage then rapidly advance to a godlike level of power fitting for their epic introduction to the outside world.

posted a message on Diablo 3 wishlist: Act zero
While it's really doubtful that blizz has devs looking for content and are specifically monitoring this board to pluck ideas from, I thought it would be fun to have a diablo 3 wishlist thread. I mean actual significant features, not minor things like "bring back gold text" and "I want to play a necromancer". I'll start with an idea I've had for a while now about an possible "Act zero" inserted into the game.

Basically act zero would be an optional and relatively short act (about half an hour at most to clear) that would unlock after you beat the game once, becoming available on nightmare difficulty just before you begin act one. Once again, it would be entirely option to do this act or not.. It would be single player only, and the act itself would be completely different depending on the hero you had chosen.

Basically act zero would be an origin story for your hero. Your character would start out with their stats flattened, but would hike up rapidly through the storyline, reaching your actual level for the last few quests and maybe even gaining a level or two. Your character would essentially be set back to before they went out on the grand adventure that is all of diablo 3. For example, if you were a demon hunter, your act would start in a village being seiged by demons. Your first task would be to escape the demons and survive until rescued by a demon hunter. Over the course of the next half hour, you would learn about the demon hunters and their lore, train in their arts, secure a workshop to construct your first weapons, and then finally go out on your first demon hunt.

The wizard might find themselves back in their mage's academy, sneaking out after curfew, stealing books from the library, defying teachers and conducting dangerous magical experiments until the eventual grand showdown with the archmage which results your leaving the school afterwards (and an unconscious archmage). Act zero would be a break from the usual mayhem and demon slaughtering, and would help you appreciate the history behind your hero and what they do.

Naturally, not everyone is interested in backtsory and lore, which is again, why this would be an entirely optional act.

posted a message on Resource bars
I was excited when I heard that diablo 3 would give a unique resource bar to every class, but after seeing them, does anyone else feel a little let down? If we boil down all the skills to their basics, here's what we have.

    Wizard: Energy bar
    Barbarian: Rage Bar
    Demon Hunter: Two energy bars
    Witch Doctor: Mana bar
Monk: Rage bar that doesn't decay

Where's the interesting resource bars? Death Knights in wow have one of the most interesting resource systems, having to manage runes instead of cooldowns, and granted it's been dumbed down a lot by spraying death runes all over the talent tree, it's still a really innovative system. A big part of me was wishing for something equally interesting, but instead what we got was a cast of heroes that all have energy bars with different regen rates.

    Anyone else feel the same?
