Frenzy for a fury builder and single target damage.
Leap for mobility and stunning groups pre aoe + fury
Battle rage then WW as your big fury spenders for big aoe burst
Revenge after leap stun wears off for bonus aoe
Call of the ancients for some extra dps that can suit single target as well as aoe (and look sweet hopefully :P)
WW health funnel rune and Bloodthirst passive should ensure good health returns
Other runes and passives are all cooldown reductions/duration extenders or straight up dps bonuses
Im probably going to play a Wiz or WD first but i just can't picture a build for them as fast or precisely as my first barb build.
I'm pretty sure WoW will be the only WoW killer. Diablo might have a small impact short term, but from a revenue stand point it's not going to worry them one bit. The possible small losses in wow will be more than made up from D3 RMAH. Not to mention the new expansion supposedly hitting some time this year. If anything I'de bet both would actually positively effect each other, each will be a good distraction to the other when you get burned out with content. D3 content will burn out quicker than the wow content too so I'm guessing a lot of wow players will be back before long. The whole blizzard line up for the next 12 months looks pretty exciting to me.
I'm pretty fond of the druid and necro classes from D2 and I'd love to see them come back but i think they would probably go for something new, for at least one of the new classes anyway, assuming there is more than one. A few little ideas I had were, a Doppelganger class, who doesn't want to be a quill rat right? But there is some cooler stuff you could become, the problem with that would be the skills would probably be a nightmare to implement with so many monsters to choose from and rune mods to those skills too...
Also thinking along the line of the vampire idea, not so much a vampire but a thaumaturgist / blood magic type class like some others suggested. Though maybe that's a little too similar to other classes... but the vampire class itself could be a bit too cheesy at the moment and i just don't see blizzard going straight that way.
Failing any of those things we could always have a Bard / Minstrel, lol
I like the idea of ladders. The D2 version was a lot of fun with resets. But the D3 version won't be the same.
The only way I think it would work is if rank was given by a number of factors, not just level alone.
Probably a combination of most things PVE, boss kills, minion kills/tallies etc etc, it could be a combination of a whole bunch of appropriate statistics. At least this way there would be some competition for the top spot continuously.
You could and I assume they will do the same for PVP separately seeing as there's a better focus on it in D3.
So I hope they do add one in, as long as they do it right.
