posted a message on Will the Monk be your 1st/Main character?
When I first thought about it I was looking forward to playing the Demon Hunter as my first character. However, after further review of articles, builds, videos, and finally a playthrough with the monk, I am confident that I will roll him first. There is something about dashing into a group of mobs, Blinding the whole group, and melting face with "Fists of Thunder" with the first skill rune applied to provide chain lighting effects. Aside from the cool fighting style the monk provides, I have always been a fan of group utility and he brings alot of that to the table. I was very used to playing a pally in WOW and D2 before and this is as close as I can get. I am certainly considering playing the wizard as my second character once my monk is maxed out.

posted a message on so anyone with the diablo beta
Just to agree with others their is no PVP mode in the beta. I believe in past discussions at Blizzcon Diablo 3 panels they stated they weren't going to put pvp in the beta. The same can be said of providing higher levels to access than 13. Even though the PVP mode looks really awesome, I got a feeling I will be spending most of my time climbing through the skill levels, hunting for loot, crafting, and just all around being the best rounded out character I can be. I am looking forward to the full release.

I careful review on watching and reading all of the classes on youtube, the monk speaks to me the most. The reasons behind it for me really is because I love the idea of having group utility when in co-op and then when I am not in co-op I can solo very well. I will probably go with a demon hunter as a second option once I get my monk where I want him to be.

    posted a message on Diablo 3 Beta Patch 13 - In-Game Screenshots
These are nice Screen shots. Also what application is being used to record your gameplay? I use to use Fraps awhile back but it seems outdated now. Keep up the good work for those that can't play the beta.

posted a message on Looking at beta, how many times longer do you think D3 will be?
I agree to peat85's post. I think it will be 40-60 hours of play. It depends on how long you allow yourself to be immersed in the story and the rate of progression you need to finish each boss. Even though I know Starcraft 2 is different from Diablo 3, the massive amount of content they put into the campaign was more than I expected from the original starcraft. If Diablo 3 at least doubles the expectation of that then we are all in for a treat.

posted a message on Good Morning and Hello from one Diablo Fan to another
Good morning everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself to the site and fans of the DIablo game series. I am a Systems Engineer in a Healthcare environment, a family man, and have been an avid player of Blizzard games since the days of rock n roll racing, Lost Vikings, and all the way up to this point. Of course I enjoy Starcraft, warcraft, and World of Warcraft. I have always enjoyed the DIablo series and look forward to the upcoming Diablo 3 game. I have always been fond of the action-rpg style of gameplay Diablo provides. I would like to quote a post I made earlier that might be fitting to me being new under this account. See below.

    Quote from Me

My story is I have been accessing this site for along time without creating an account. Then I create an account almost two years back, make a few posts, and now when I want to contribute informative replies in forum post topics already made due to being on the verge of a Diablo 3 release date, I can't find my account information to save my life. So I go ahead and create a new one this morning which makes me look like a new member that joins just for the beta key contest.

    End Quote from Me

While I still don't have access to the D3 beta, I have been following ever since it was first released through this site, battlenet forums, other fansites, and tons of streamed/recorded video content. I am also looking forward to joining a guild and band together for tons of co-op goodness in this new game. I hope I can find a lot of good people on this site to do this with. Thanks for allowing me to contribute and I look forward to seeing more of you on the site and in the game.

posted a message on [Official] Release Date Speculation Thread
I am not sure what is the bigger anticipation about Diablo 3. Obtaining the actual retail game on release day or actually receiving the news from Blizzard what the actual release date is for this game. Now that we know that Blizzard is shooting for a Q2 Release Date windows. Here are some of my possible suggestions.

    *Spring Break for School*
If blizzard can target a release date within March through April to catch spring break for students, then they can get some good sales out of it.

    *Easter Weekend Holiday*
For those that believe in the Christian Holiday / Easter Egg Hunt Holiday / etc I would find it ironic that Diablo 3 would be released close to this time frame. Again I know the story of Diablo vs the Bible doesn't entirely relate, the concept of Good vs Evil would display an odd cross-marketing type of thing.

    *Schools Out*

For some school systems, during the month of May and/or June would be a suggested time frame to release this game to get more *kiddies* to dive into the action of D3. This could be the most ideal window for Blizzard anyway to grab the most sales.

    *My Thoughts*

I really wanted this game to come out in Jan or Feb (My Birthday Month) because I love new game releases during the colder seasons. If the game does get released towards the end of June, it will be a bit muggy in good old FL while waiting at midnight for my D3 CE preorder. I believe Blizzard will hit that early to mid June release window so they can suck up every chance they get to test before the real release. It would not surprise me that they will even do a open beta stress test the month before the release date like they have with past betas. As far as the signs of Blzzard Employees working on the weekends to address beta patch rollouts go, I just think they have the approval to do overtime now to make sure they can be as aggressive as possible to not tell their fans that the game will be delayed for Q3 2012 which I believe is a smart idea. They can afford to pay their employees overtime anyway with all the WOW money coming in.

My last thought behind the June release is because around the end of May, start of June will give Blizzard a second boost of funds from fans that purchased the annual agreement of WOW. For those that decided to do the 6-month renewal, this is around the time that it will kick in. The combined funds from that and a D3 release would be fantastic for their sales.I am so looking forward to this game but I am just looking forward to a release date so I can get some closure and plan some vacation time around it.

posted a message on Im making money, now i want to build my own comp ideas anyone?
I am still debating this myself. I have always focused my builds around three things. VIdeo Cards, Memory, and Power Supplies. Alot of video cards are bursting with Memory that really help offload the main motherboards CPU & memory load. With the newer CPUs out nowadays, they are rarely the bottle neck in a PC build as memory is the one that is generally consumed more. Lately I have been reviewing sites to buy PC parts vs. buying through a company like "Doghouse Systems" or "cyberpowerpc" to allow them to build the PCs for me. It turns out it is getting cheaper for these companies to throw it together than me to build it. I am just watching the prices right now before I commit to another change in hardware.

The monitor I have is this Viewsonic 27 Monitor

I play a ton of steam games, starcraft 2, and World of Warcraft. The darks that it displays are very good and the monitor is 1MS! I have had this monitor for over a year and it works great. I run it at 1920x1080 though a DVI port on my laptop.

Does anyone have this feeling that the release of a next expansion is when they will change their minds and introduce Diablo 3 PVP as an approved game for the cyber leagues? I am really hoping they do because it looks awesome.

posted a message on What class and why?
I will go with Monk as my first choice. Barb will be my second choice. The reason why I will go with the Monk as my first choice or primary character is because I like the idea of being able to provide group utility to my team. If my friends aren't online, I can solo my way through content. I enjoy having that flexibility. I also enjoyed the pally in D2 and in World of Warcraft so it speaks to me.
As for my second choice, being the Barb just provides such a "jump in the fight and melt some face" that I have enjoyed in other games. Something about stripping out all the management of mana or spills and just use hand to hand combat to crush the enemies.

Forum conversations like this get me excited. My story is I have been accessing this site for along time without creating an account. I am one of the unfortunate few much like the few in this post that still don't have a beta key and have owned and contributed to beta invites with Blizzard games since the dawn of time. The beta key contests are random and thats the way it is. Do I hope to get an invite in this contest Diablofans is doing....sure. If I don't then I will continue to be part of this site to meet people and enhance my Diablo 3 gaming experience come release and beyond.
I didn't see any reason why new members need to make a brand new forum posts to even contribute into the beta contest. I might be one of the few that actually search for subject matter before making a forum post topic and even then, that is what moderators are for.

posted a message on Jay Wilson - Skill and Rune Changes
The main thing that bums me about this is I can't look forward obtaining a "Rune" from a drop. I love the hunt for hard to get items based on drops as opposed to unlocking at a particular level. Also not having the level system of Runes seems lackluster. I do agree with Blizzard's system of "Easy to learn, Diffcult to Master" but, I am left wondering what left will be diffcult to master? I harder skill level?
