posted a message on Best "casual" way to grind paragon levels?
The multiplayer bonuses are great atm. I'd suggest doing pub games.. and just running whatever. More drops, more xp.. it's pretty fun too. If you do multiplayer chances are you'll just have to run whatever they run, but some of the better areas in the game are keep depths 2, cathedral 4.. and I like the sewers in a2.

I honestly think this game would be better if it was being run by the playerbase.

I wholeheartedly disagree. D3 is actually not a bad game at all, it just failed to meet the extremely sky-high expectations that everyone has in Blizzard games. Imagine the same game that is D3 as of now but created by some little kids... do you really think people would rant about the game as much as they do right now?

Besides, keep in mind that it's not a question of "franchise" but a question of "game genre". For an RTS game like WC3 or SC2, every new "game" is just a new "map". No one can do any damage by releasing "bad/gamebreaking" stuff.

So, action RPG's don't usually have mods? I think all other ARPG's on the market beg to differ.

Where did I say that ARPGs don't have mods? Please read my statement again, the part after what you highlighted. Sure, many ARPGs allowed modding, but that didn't help at all - just look at TL2. For an RTS game, this is different.

Also, when we talk about "franchise" people might put WoW and WC3 in one basket, which obviously doesn't make much sense within the scope of this thread.

You completely misinterpreted what I said.. I wasn't saying I wish D3 was designed by kids, I love the design of the game.. physics and combat are amazing. What I have a problem with are the features or lack there of that have come since. Basically everything they've added has either come from D2, or from player suggestions. Had it been left in the hands of the players via modding, we would already have TONS more legendaries, probably more classes, better class balance, better skills/rune combos, and the itemization revamp would've already taken place. Hell, go look at the synergies mod for TL2 and imagine that with D3. There are some solid modders out there.. and I'm sure we would be seeing brilliance with 14 months under our belts.

    What Melt said.

Besides, keep in mind that it's not a question of "franchise" but a question of "game genre". For an RTS game like WC3 or SC2, every new "game" is just a new "map". No one can do any damage by releasing "bad/gamebreaking" stuff.

In WoW, the only thing you can mod is the interface. And the reason why they don't allow anything besides the interface in WoW and why they said "no mod support for D3" is that community argument Melt mentioned. Also, there is no reset button or "new game" like in an RTS.

Not arguing your point, however I can definitely see the pros to Diablo 3 being modable. I honestly think this game would be better if it was being run by the playerbase. Granted, the splitting of the playerbase wouldn't be a good thing.. but neither is 80% of the playerbase quitting because they're very disappointed with the dev team, and lack of continuous content and patches to make the game better.

posted a message on Itemization patch won't happen until November (confirmed)
Maybe I am expecting a little much, and if previous experience with the d3 team should tell me anything it's that I'm always expecting a little much, but if it is taking this long to be patched into the game.. it had better be a monumental change in the game. I'm serious, if we wait this long and just get new proc effects and stat replacement on legendaries I will have to walk away.

The updates and patches have been great. My main gripe atm is how much better the barbarian is for farming, playing other characters feels like a grind now. I know some other classes can farm well, but at levels of equipment that are unreachable for me. I do ove my monk but it's far from being as effective as a barb.
To think thta at the very beginning barb was the underpowered class needing huge resists and a shield to survive Inferno 1.0 :D
Yeah I´m hoping for a barb nerf and feel the exact same as you playing other classes now. It will cost a lot more to be just as efficient. Though I still enjoy playing barb a bit too :P
It's worth noting though that you can get a budget wiz together for <10 million that farms just as well as a barb, though in a completely different manner than a barb.

You guys need to get over this, the reason other classes can't farm as efficiently as barbs is because Blizzard has done a terrible job at giving synergy between skills. Mostly, its because resource management is so poor. Why are CM wizards second on the list? Because of mob control and resource management. Blizzard released this game with no deeper thought than the direct design of the skills.. and not how they will work together. You can't blame the players for finding something that works greatly, when there are so few choices on how to play your characters effectively.

To clarify, I'm not the owner of the image. I found it on battle.net forums on an itemization discussion, and jesus... it was just too good that I have to share here with you guys, and trust me, AT LEAST the Blues knows about it.

If they show that to jay, I think he would probably resign from his job.

I agree 1000% that the image is just too good.. but if you think Jay would resign for any reason you've lost your mind.

The reason Blizzard went to main stat itemization is so they can release expansions the same way they do with WOW, where all gear is basically rendered useless from the previous. This completely recycles gear, and brings in a whole new influx of RMAH fees from people buying new gear. The itemization is so terrible, and blatantly flawed.. that there is no way they would've chosen this had they not had a damn good reason to use it. I think this is their reason.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Loot Servers - > Easy Legendary Drops?
Guys, if you only do runs on certain servers then of course when you get an upswing of loot you're going to think "Aw man, see it worked!".

Placebo effect and all of you are falling for it.

If you really want to test the theory, run on whatever server you get.. and when you get a legendary just tab out and write down the IP address.

If you see a trend from that, thats when you should post.

If I understand this right I grinded hours for high end endgame MF items, and blizzard, wich seemed to encourage that by saying they were not happy about gear swapping, says now I'm fucked.

GREAT. Maybe time to leave this game.

Do you realize how long it is going to take you to cause your MF gear to be obsolete?

Listen, I did the same thing as you and I have about 230 MF pre-NV on gear that I can effectively clear A2/A3 with. That said, I think the changes are great.

    - Over time your base character will become stronger
    - Eventually you will receive max MF without needing any MF on gear

What's to complain about? All this means is you're going to get more/better gear as you level up your paragon.. and then eventually you'll be able to shed that gear for more survivability.

posted a message on Wow... Kill CM and BUFF other skills?
I know that there will be more changes than what has been listed, but the only thing I thought after reading the preview is "That's all you got?".

After reading the barb preview, and how much balancing, correcting, buffing.. and how much thought actually went into their changes I was very confident that 1.04 was going to be game saving. After reading the wizard preview, I was just disappointed.. thats all.

A point of emphasis I would've thought would have been making more armors viable, as well as adding more reliable snares as opposed to just blizzard (granted, frost hydra).

The reason people play CM/WW is because it gives you control.. they don't like tossing down a blizz/hydra, running for their lives and kiting like a scared little girl.

I played a lot of Arcane Orb as well and I know what you're talking about, it's like a mini-stun. I think it has to do with a certain damage threshold that causes a little stutter in their movement. I'll try out arcane orb to see if I notice the same change.

posted a message on Is doing shorter farming runs actually better?
The most effective farming route for me has been running Whimsyshire (CM/WW build Wiz, mind you). I can get my 5 stack within 3-5 minutes by going to festering woods, then usually to leoric's manor to get the last NV.. or cemetary if I need 2 stacks after FW.

Whimshire is usually cleared within 10 minutes.

That's 4-5 a3/a4 packs every 13-15 mins, and honestly I prefer the quick pace.

EDIT: I also run with 275 mf
