Why do you care? I thought you had quit this game forever. The DH could fart rainbows and it wouldn't matter to you, because you're not playing, right?

I'm not part of the barb QQ brigade but all the same, how do they feel about barb? Do they have any interest in increasing fury generated from primary attacks? I don't even care if Travis response is, "Fuck you, no." (Though that'd be hilarious.) Just like to hear a broader discussion on barb mechanics, etc, cause I'm a huge nerd.

posted a message on Why the Barb and WOTB is getting nerfed for Reaper of Souls
Living Lightning is hardly "the best" primary. It all depends on your build and the other skills you're using. Just blindly grabbing the highest damage skills with no thought for synergy isn't the best way to approach this game.

As someone already said in this thread, WW costs way, way less Fury per damage than HotA or SS. But that goes without saying, doesn't it?

That's the thing with any balance discussion I come across. It's always clear that the person arguing has a certain way they play, prefer certain skills, and aren't capable of seeing the broader picture. Just the other day, someone was complaining that the barb has resource issues because they can't spam Sprint endlessly. Now I'll be the first to admit Fury gen could be better, but that argument is just a non-starter.

Not the most scientific test, but I think of it this way: If you can get +arcane damage on various slots of gear to boost your elemental damage, then why shouldn't it function the same way with skill buffs? I'd be very surprised if it didn't stack.

posted a message on Are you happy with the legendary drop rate ?
It's in a really good place to me. Rare enough that I get excited when I see one, but not too rare that I feel playing the game is a hopeless endeavor. Also only playing on Expert/Master, so considering that Torment will only improve the rate I acquire legendary items, I don't see any need for a drop rate increase.

posted a message on A little Heart to Heart about RoS...

Posts like these only appeal to those who are already inclined to hate the game. I could write 100 pages on how the font they chose has ruined the game irreversibly, and it'd get parroted around by the gilted ex-lovers of Diablo.

The Tias (who made a far better post) and Droth have made the following points:

    1. Drop rates are too low.

    2. Enemy damage too high.

    3. Enemies have too many HP.

    4. CC effects need to be nerfed.

    5. Rifts need to be more rewarding.

Hardly game breaking when read in a format that doesn't evoke mass hysteria.

And taken as whole, all this says is, "You'll have to play the game for a while before you find all the best items and faceroll content." Oh no!!! And if it's really really upsetting you that you might have to play the game longer than 20 hours before you have everything, then perhaps the ARPG genre just isn't for you. Because no matter which of these games you play, whether it's Torchlight, PoE, or even Diablo 2, if you want to have the best of the best items, you're going to have to play the game for a little while.

posted a message on ARPG Uniqueness

Damn. I've been wanting someone to make an ARPG like this for a long time.

Just distill the long slog of a grind down into a single bite-sized chunk. I'll definitely keep an eye out. Can't really donate right now though, as I've already spent more than enough on Wasteland and Project Eternity. I think that's enough risk for me, haha

posted a message on The definitive BoA Thread on Official D3 Boards.

They're looking to appease mouthbreathing neckbeards who keep chirping about the "emotional value" of items and how trading makes them cry tears for the Virgin Mary instead of making a game that actually has lasting power like its predecessor.

    lol wtf

A simple: "I disagree with your opinion," would suffice.

posted a message on Design a Legendary

You should post this on their latest blog, as it will get noticed there. Or whatever threads are going on.

The idea is pretty good, (a bit similar to what I had in mind) but I'd get rid of the life steal mechanic and increase the damage by a lot. I feel like it has enough going for it, really. You could probably just make it a huge poison nova a la classic Meph.

That stream was rough though. After watching it I just felt like every idea was crap, even my own, lol. Not saying yours is, but, man...

At this point, I'm just like do whatever you guys want, sure it'll be fine.

posted a message on Vanilla needs atleast a few RoS features

Torment difficulty with sliders would be enough, while allowing each difficulty to drop slightly better gear/increased rewards.Voila, progression for the hold-outs.

posted a message on So do people here actually like the game?
I feel bad for Travis Day. He seems like a pretty cool guy, and I thought he presented his case for MF pretty well. Sadly, the forum went into full-derp mode after his two posts today. Not even a weak attempt to civilly argue his points. Nope. There isn't a single post in that thread that Travis could actually respond to, or glean anything from because it's all hyperbole and "you ruined my life" and "you're a moron" and "what about Diablo 2" etc etc. Probably won't see anything from him for another few months. Or until after release. Or ever again. I get the feeling people really like the game in this forum, but they're also pretty hard on it, but in a way that makes sense. I mean, they're not torturing themselves, if that's what you mean, lol
