Here is an amusing, but helpful guide I came across:
Firebird refresher tips, in case anyone doesn't remember the good old days:
- Be aggressive. always be kiting into new parts of the map, never backwards. The more enemies there are burning, the more damage you deal to each of them, and you need to have AT LEAST like 20 at a time to be doing it right.
- Be aggressive. You've got a potion and two cheat death effects, so you're actually really tanky if you think about it.
- Seriously, if at any time you don't have at least one of your three cheat deaths on cooldown, you're being a bad firebird. If the "You died" screen pops up and your purple bar is higher than the little yellow line, that means you're doing a good job. Come to think of it, since the first death doesn't make you sit through a countdown, that's basically a fourth cheat death effect. The key to the 'bird is to go deep and do whatever you want so long as 20 monsters and an elite are on fire.
- Even while you're dead, they still burn.
- They burn even when you're dead.
- It doesn't matter if you're dead, if everyone else is dead.
- You are not burning enough enemies. You are never burning enough enemies.
It doesn't matter if you're dead, if everyone else is dead.
Just hit GR73, (74 now!) so the set is very solid. The dying thing is more of a joke, I'm actually quite tanky, but it speaks to the mindset required. It's a role playing game, you must become the Firebird.
The stacks are counted for every enemy burning. This will clear things up nicely: https://gfycat.com/SecondUnrealisticFlamingo Apparently all you need is a 4k resolution to see that god awful buff.
So, 24 stacks for an elite plus however many regular monsters you can get burning. As you'd expect it to work.

LOL Top quality post.
I don't really care if you're gain 100000000000 paragon, because d3 game is kiddish and number/numerlogoly,only redneck fat morons can orgasm when see their damage numbers or armor or thoughness.
When I try to use "Goldwrap" belt and take 32M gold my toughness was - 47,734,362,112 and my armor - 38,420,832,who need that numbers ffs?!
Get a life,go outside,sports well,don't be jackass..

When enemies are "burning" based on the set's meaning of the word, you'll see a flame above their heads signifying this. It's a sort of spiky flame, so it's hard to miss. Enemies tend to have a fire effect on their bodies when hit by any fire spell, but that's just aesthetic.
This will become easier to notice at higher difficulty levels.

Do what you enjoy, but this is what I run with, which goes without Etched Sigil.
It's purely damage from Disintegrate. Spin your beam, light em' up quick, and get it over with. Usually I'll tag an elite, then wipe the rest of the screen with the buff. No fussing with procs or spells missing. Just you and your big laser beam.
That being said, I've had a fair bit success with Apocalypse. It covers a nice area, and you get more enemies burning quicker, for TX rifts, at least. So you get more buff = more damage. Twister has a chance to miss, covers a smaller area, and you really want to light as much on fire as possible. Which is why I prefer a straightforward laser beam.
Firebird's burn damage also benefits highly from modifiers like +Fire damage, which the FB source has.
My character. Aether Walker/Deathwish/Furnace can be mixed based on your preferences.

Oh man, so much this. I get the issues this set has, it's wonky, the wording is confused, there are "bugs", and the buff icon can't be raed for shit, but the potential is so fucking obvious. These "pro" streamers dick around with it for half a day and easy, "Welp, what do?" and write it off. lol
The hive mind can be quite an overwhelming force sometimes, but I hold out hope some Korean or something will show us what's up, then Quin will be like, "Check out this new build I came up with bois!"
Okay, I'm being a bit salty here. If I feel so strongly, I suppose i should come up with this "amazing" build myself.

Completely agree, Atmo.
This is more to my liking, more reminiscent of the Monk dashing strike farm build I ran last season. Running around rolling your face on the keyboard for EBs isn't my idea of fun, and relying on In-Geom procs is super limiting. Plus finding one of them, AND a Woh? Ha! Also, Explosive Blast going off non-stop gets really tiring to listen to.
With this build you're limited by... well, nothing, other than how bad you want that loot. And you get to spam the oh so satisfying Spectral Blades like some kind of wizard ninja.
May 5, 2014Evidence I've seen for good T6 clears shows it's definitely worth it, (4 legs an hour) if you can clear it fast, which is totally fine. Why should this come as a shock that hard modes require good gear to do efficiently? T6 just isn't the gimme free plz mode people expect it to be. "I killed four elites in T6 and got no legendaries! WTF!!!"Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
