This is a classic argument i always see in TCGs. Oh just spend money, bla bla. For some that will really work, but if you know what you are doing you can build broken decks with basic cards. Just look at budget legacy decks and how completely broken some can be with out a card costing more then 50 cents.
If your goal is to win at all costs well then cash will just get you the deck pool you need. If you objective is to have some fun then you can make it far (even to masters as has been pointed out) with a limited pool.
Learning the ins and outs of the rules and how to break some cards will go much farther then some legendaries IMO. Yeah i have been owned by some but thats because i didn't pull a removal in time. And nothing is more fun the just MCing our outright destroying their "uber" card amd watch them fall apart.
The only thing i wish to find out is what is the "drop rate" of epic and legendaries" in the packs. I would love to see some numbers.

Hey all I am playing self found and just got two huge drops this morning (the tal neck and the witching hour belt) and I am looking for advice on which of the crafted archon pieces I should be shooting for an upgrade.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
I am thinking its between the bracers and gloves with me right now leaning toward the bracers.
Again self found, so no ramblings about the bash affix on my belt.. sad but it was a 30k dps incraseover my hellcat waistguard.

If you are doing normal activities (and this includes buying on the RMAH and selling on the GAH) you wont get banned.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Hey wizards on the PTR. I am just wondering how RD is working on the PTR right now in terms of needing life steal on our weapons.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
I run archon and am wondering if the return damage is higher or lower then now. I normally don't care but I don't like switching weapons in my speed runs and I have enough life steal to not care but I run blood magic and have a LS weapon compared to Force Weapon and my non LS weapon.
As it stands if i go full dps I can burn 1 at a time and not care about the reflect (damaged but easily regained from either a potion or globes). If I catch all 3 in the archon beam I need the Life steal or I melt myself (with life steal build, my life stays exactly neutral - other damaging abilities).
So if anyone can give me a heads up from the PTR that would be awesome.

My main suggestion will be to actually call them (especially if they have a toll free in your region). Tickets just take a while to be processed and getting them on the phone is normally faster.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Be polite, patient and if it is a false positive it will get fixed. Mention the tickets and just have all your information with you.

On mine all i get really is a slight decrease in load times for the session and the individual zones (noticable vs my wife's HDD drive on her machine).Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
But quite frankly the savings here compared to BF3, Skyrim, etc, are quite small.
Long on short, is it better yes.... by huge no.... is it worth it, I think so. And the side benefit of Skyrim or shooters loading faster is the real cake (and OS).

I always love coming into these topics and reading the various hate leveled at D3. I think the points have been said at least a billion (I wonder if anyone ever tallied all the complaints on diablofans alone) times.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
There is one thing that needs to change. Battle.net 2.0. Its a problem in starcraft and its a bigger problem in D3. They really need to overhaul some of the major pieces of functionality to give the game the life you guys (the haters) are all talking about. I am well aware the general game experience could be better and frankly it damn well could be but its far from the abysmal failure that everyone says it is.
However, add in dueling for now and FIX battle.net and suddenly we have a game where we can truly communicate. A game where we can open a list of games and see mp10 playthrough next to mp1 act 3 farm run next to mp5 Ubers. A place where we can actually talk to each other IN GAME and get things done without being limited by the 99 player limit stupidity.
If there was one critical success of D2, it was that battle.net was so good for its time (and bnet2.0 is so bad for its time).
More fun stuff will come, they are clearly adding it and as much as we wish it, there isnt a magic wand to game development and it is not an instant process. Time is what this game needs (insert all the stuff about them learning from LOD and applying it) for the PvE and PvP content. What we need is Battle.net that works not one that functions.
patch 1.6 was supposed to be for behind the scenes stuff, here is hoping its some set up on the server for more bnet features.
*note: The reason i said the critical success of d2 is the b.net is because look at what all games took from it, not just the diablo series or arpgs. Involving the community in games have always made a game more successful and the blueprint that people used for a very very long time was b.net. The next best things are forums and frankly we have those... *looks around*

the only part that annoys me is the error in reporting bug going on right now.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
