At this point it needs to be thought I as a business move. Blizz just reported that world of warcraft subscriber numbers are not dropping as fast but come end of Q2 with the wow expansion content running out blizzard is going to need something. Diablo will be released within Q2 in order to make up for the losses they may experience from wow. this will keep the companys profit up, it is a business after all.
Blizzard is smart enough that they won't make the game too intense on graphics. Just like world of Warcraft they will make sure that you can utilize a good graphics card but not make a bad card cripple your game play experience.
