Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from ShadoutIs it a problem if quests are mandatory though?
Not in my opinion, so I hope there will be quests like that
Optional quests are good for people who just started to play who would want a few extra items or whatever but for a player who wants to play up every class to max level and for a HC player having more mandatory quests really is annoying for your gameplay experience when all you want is to get to level x to equip all that loot that you got in your stash that you collected with your last 10 characters that are now dead, rip.

As the topic states. Why make them mandatory if they are necessary for your character development? Especially if you're a HC player you will want every little bonus as soon as you can but in SC you could possibly pospone it for a little while as I often did in D2 and I'm sure many others did.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I have a hard time to see why these quests have to give some kind of stat bonus at all, from what I read there will be quests that reward your character with certain bonuses but in my opinion they force you to do those quests then, I'd rather see rewards that are like the ones in Act 5 that does not change your character but they can be nice to do when you got the right items, add socket and add name to your item even if it was completly useless to do so it still had a fun touch to it. Giving rares can be both good and bad, in D2 there were certain levels that you had a bigger chance to get x stat on which made you save the quest until the optimal level to cash it in which kind of ruins the point for people who want to do it right there and right then, perhaps rare on the level of the quest would be more appropriate, this would mean that people with good gear could skip it and people who want to explore could do it and it would be very much optional rather then feeling mandatory.
Now I don't know if Blizzard stated at all if they will have quests like this or not but I really hope that they can skip it this time around. Sucks doing Den of Evil again and again. :)
