Maybe Blizzard's changes to appeal to a wider audience and to more casual players is working. Not saying D3 seems like it'll be too easy a game, but all the changes to the UI and abilities seem much more "watered down" than that from early beta. Not necessarily a bad thing but I do wish they would cut back on the hand holding, especially with this being part of the Diablo series. I'm glad your wife is enjoying herself though, its always good to see skeptics and people who aren't big on games have fun with them too and see why we love them so much.

All classes have abilities to make gaps between them and the opponent and to close them, as of right now it seems that major factors in pvp will be the player, timing cd's, and rng. It doesn't really seem like one specific class is going to be able to dominate in pvp, although there are some pretty amazing abilities that you're going to have to watch out for i.e. seven sided strike, earthquake, archon, ect. But mainly its really all going to come down to pure skill which is going to be fun as hell. Also, I don't recall ever hearing about it, but is there going to be some sort of Leaderboard/ranking system in D3's pvp? I would asume there is, would be pretty lame if there isn't, but I wasn't 100% sure if there is.

posted a message on Will a healer class dominate pvp?
Seeing as how Monk is the only class that could really be classified as a "Healing class" one would have to assume that Monks in pvp will almost feel obligated to using BoH as much as possible to keep their team alive. Plus with one of monks mantras being a passive aoe heal its also very likely we could see monks staying out of the fight, but close enough to their team for the mantra to tick on them.

Even with BoH runed with say Obsidian or Indigo and mantra of healing runed with really any of the runes seeing as they all give great defensive benefits the monk would still need to at some point return to the fight just because of going spirit starved. At that point they would easily get overwhelmed if they put too much emphasis on healing/defensive abilities and runes as opposed to utility/survivability, especially since BoH now has a cooldown. So no, I don't think healing monk would dominate pvp. Can their healing be useful to a pvp match? absolutely. But can their the healing be used for the entiretly of a match, thats very doubtful.
