i made this build thinking of playing with my sister, who loves wizard and will go heavy damage.
Made for softcore pve
The skill choices must be my favorite of them all.
Passives:
Guiding light extra damage for me and partner
Sieze the Initiative seems to be a really nice armor boost
Resolve for extra close range reduction, i would change this depending on how much more spell damage i take, maybe changing it for One with Everything.
As for runes
+Crippling Wave, i like the aoe form of reduction, and 20% is pretty good, and if damage reduction is overkill (i dont think so but still) ill get Mangle or Rising Tide depending on my crit %
+Exploding palm with the extra 2 ticks, or Crepping Demise depending how i see mobs clustering in higher dificulties, also ill try it with the spirit per enemy hit timming it on almost dead monsters for more spirit regen
+Breath of Heaven, the extra spirit regen to be able to keep Guiding light up the closest to 100% as posible.
+Mantra Of Conviction, i love the red looking efect on enemies, working as a bullseye for wizard to bomb.
+Seven sided strike, awesome skill, the rune choice; Sustained Attack does more damage per sec of cooldown than Sudden Assault, and Fulminating Onslaught was better (with the before p13 numbers) if you hit average of 3 enemies with the explosion every hit (i would try this for sure, again depending on the cluttering), but my choice remains Sudden Assault for the teleport.
+Wave of Light just looks awesome, the rune is from some math regarding damage per spirit, that unless im wrong puts Wall of light at 3.9%, Pillar of the Ancients at 4.8%, and Empowered Wave at 5%
i lke the build since it help us dual the game, plus its easy to adjust some runes to work for solo, Giuiding light for Transcendence, BOH with Blazing Wrath, for example.
what i would think of the crown, is that you use it to bring him to the physical world where you can beat him the right way. If you recall when he's following cain he appears in ghost from, still able to control the skele minions, an unbeatable form. And the reason you have to beat him first may be that if you dont you'll have to handle his minions all the way down to the fallen star, making it way too hard, realistic wise.
im all for the monk. i like its fast hitting lighting combos and the versatily it has in groups with diferent buffs. it also has quite the repertoire of dmg reduction, and since blizz state there tons of builds viable up to inferno then im glad to be able to play with the abilities i enjoy watching the most
i wouldnt quote myself on this but i remember listening jay wilson in an interview that they didnt implement this kind of diminishing returns as it is not a clear-to-user mechanic
