IMO socketables are just gold sinks. Blizz could just aswell just remove sockets and build the stats from the socket right into the main stats of the item.
Thus why you introduce sockets that completely change the weapon itself, or add something new, and while it would be a stat increase or change..it could be meaningful.

I don't see why people care that much? Hes showing you an ''exploit'' use it or don't what does it matter? How does someone doing this affect you? Blizzard will fix it, and then you can sleepy soundly at night again. At the end of the day, his video like all the others that people have posted bring the necessary attention to problems such as that..and their fixed.

    Move along people...move along.
Did you play Diablo 3 the first 6 months of its release? Do you know what happened? People abused the fuck out of the game. Blizzard hotfixed and "nerfed" so many parts of the game it became down right unplayable. Then people quit. The number of players playing the game were on an record low figure.

Then blizzard started patching, introducing new things and people started playing again. But becouse of all the malicious behaviour from some people who did not want to play the game, but wanted to cheat it, the game was destroyed. Yeah sure, you can blame blizzard all you want. But if these assholes had not been around there wouldnt have been any issues to be "hotfixed".

And the whole part that someone makes a video of a problem so that Blizzard can fix it. While i get the idea behind it, its still a very bad thing to do. There are a proper way of doing it(report it directly to blizzard!) and theres the not so proper way of doing it to. Instead of making the entire community want to try out these exploits for themselves. Just like the AH gold dupe shit that surfaced, if someone would have reported it to blizzard through the proper channels instead of streaming it there probably wouldnt have been such a big deal.

People with their logic that shit like this doesnt affect anyone of us at all is so stupid it hurts. It affects us all, wether you want to believe it or not.
So stupid it hurts? Well people have a choice in the matter, they can choose to do the exploit or they don't. The game has been full of giant exploits, aka the big money grab when the gold dupe happened. Yeah it fucked up a lot of stuff but keep in mind at the end of the day people had a choice..they either participated or they didn't. These videos are not even in the same realm as the huge ass exploits when the game was first released or the gold one..so you're comparing apples to oranges.

People do report it to the proper channels, but do you really think when you report it to blizzard via phone/email or even on the forums, that support guy is running down the hallway, tripping over shit and bumping into people to tell the higher up ''HOLY SHIT WE GOTTA FIX THIS RIGHT MEOW?!'' ...yeah no it's not happening.

These videos help and they hurt, but in the end blizzard finds out either way. It's not like they don't check the forums and monitor shit like that..it just takes time.

In terms of it affecting us all, in this instance..and like a lot of the other ''afk farming videos'' no it really doesn't affect anyone expect the people who used the exploit. If these videos never were made and nobody shared their exploits, the world would keep on turning. You're blowing up way out of proportion.
edit: The only thing I'll agree with is the manner in which they often try to quickly patch things or hotfix them, its often sometimes really lazy or really fucking retarded..but that's blizzard. In this instance at this point the game is fairly polished enough that such an expolit as this any fix really isn't going to be that bad. I'm sure they'll either adjust the range on the summoners as the quick fix that way you can't just farm in the doorway without getting attacked.

At the end of the day..and I've posted this..as well as Rusak and many others..the lack of socketables in this game sucks.. there are 5 ..and when you look @ it from a item slot basis..it boils down to 2-3 choices.

While the affixes on those gems might not all work or really be that great for diablo 3...of course they'd be changed to fit diablo 3. What about having a rainbow facet that added 5-10%element dmg, crit chance, crit dmg, life oh hit, etc etc etc and having a chance to do a combo of any of those just like an item.

At the end of the day there is always room for improvement in terms of itemization and game mechanics..blizzard just has to take the right approach to it. When you consider that after awhile ,rares, blues, whites all just end up as crafting mats..why not find a more suitable use for them?

I'd love to see rune socketables come back into play to add other time of item affixes or on-proc affects that would be either a side grade to crit dmg or something even better. At the end of the day, you'll always have an item that is clearly better than another..so its really unavoidable to make everything be the same..because really whats the point then.

Hell I'd love to be able to combine rare items with gems/runes/whatever to have them transmute (or have a chance to transmute) into a legendary item with random affixes and/or set ones.

I'd love to see charms make it back into the game, because at the end of the day outside of picking up items forever and salvaging them..the inventory space could be used for a bit more creative options. Yeah they didn't want charms to feel mandatory...but so what paragon is mandatory but everyone wants to min-max.

posted a message on Gold.. the cause of and answer to all of D3's problems!
I had about 210mil and now I'm down to 115, the bulk on my expenses have been from getting the highest tiered gems for both of my classes. Rerolling gear for me, I'll stop trying once it goes past 300k. It's all about learning when to budget and 'let go' if you don't get the perfect roll or the exact roll you wanted. People get so caught up in min-maxing that they burn through all their cash.

With that said, I think blizzard needs to revisit costs and perhaps even cap crafting rolls for rares and legendaries respectively. Perhaps cap rare rerolls to 250k and legendaries to 500k. In addition to gold changes, I think they could be a bit more forgiving on the mats needed for certain items i.e jewelry, perhaps change it to just cost an imperial gem, and not a flawless one.

I think they could also boost the gold rewards from bounties/rift turn in's as well to at least be something like normal 10k, hard, 25k, expert, 50k, master 75k, t1 100k, t2, 150k, etc etc.

I couldn't imagine starting the game from scratch and not having any gold..I'd probably get really pissed off and quit lol.

Just play a HC character. When you die, all of your goals will be reset.
It does sound like you have never played HC. You dont play HC to die, you play to survive. Even if you die your goals stay the same, you just have to work a bit harder to get to them.
This. I haven't played HC in diablo 3 but I was actively playing HC in diablo 2..I just cannot deal with the lag spikes and other bullshit in Diablo 3 that would kill my character. I'd rather 1 shot myself with iron maiden and lose my character than die due to a lag spike that's not client side.

This it what makes me laugh..if you're ''falling asleep'' or bored of the game..roll another class..or play hardcore. Hardcore completely changes the way you play, and how you gear up your character and the builds you run with (to an extent)

    THIS ISNT DIABLO 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think you may have missed the point. The point is not "Diablo 2 was a better game", or even close to that. The graphics, gameplay, combat fluidity were all vastly improved by Diablo 3. However, the lack of being able to work towards specific gear/goals makes the game feel very lackluster after a few weeks of playing. That's really it.

I also played WoW for nearly 10 years, and have recently quit. However, with WoD's lack of flying and the new garrisons, I will absolutely be coming back to play. We have differing opinions, there is no need to post angrily over it.
I'm curious because everyone keeps saying ''specific goals'' or "end game" and then referencing Diablo 2. While gear in diablo 2 was easier to get in the sense that there was no primary stat, you still had to min-max and even getting some of the best high end gear could remain elusive for quite longer than it would in diablo 3. How can you not work toward your goals in diablo 3...because it takes longer than you'd like? I just don't understand the comparisons and the complaints because a lot of times, they don't even line up.

I still cannot fathom that people ENJOYED or even LIKED the trading that was present in D2. The only decent and reliable trading was done OUTSIDE of the game through d2jsp. Who the heck felt it was fun to spam trade chat or go into games and spam your chat for hours on end versus actually getting to play the game? I for one did not..which was why I like many others turned to d2jsp for a better way of trading..and d2jsp is ultimately the reason diablo 2 is still alive and kicking (for the most part)

While I for one am not a fan boy of Diablo 3, I'm probably one of the more vocal people against a lot of the stupid shit and short cuts they've taken with the game, but I for one get sick and tired of people complaining about items. While the loot system certainly has its flaws and now that trading is gone, you've still got a lot of different avenues to support your efforts of getting gear. Short of them bringing back an auction house format for trading, its pretty much dead in this game regardless and I don't see blizzard changing their tune on trading outside of maybe upping the time frame for trading and MAYBE allowing you to trade with people on your friends list AT BEST.

Diablo 2 just as Diablo 3 is should be subjective based on what your overall goal is with playing the game, if you're someone who has to min-max your character and is not happy nor having fun unless you're consistently getting upgrades to further your character..perhaps diablo 3 isn't for you. The primary difference between diablo 2's itemization and diablo 3's is...the primary stat. Diablo 2's items were generic and pretty much could be used universally between each class (save class specific items). Diablo 3 changed the game by introducing primary stats...whether good or bad..it was a choice that was made to change the game up. As much as people say they have D2, and I myself who enjoyed it since day 1 up until the last time I played need to realize...there was a lot of awful flaws and limitations in the game as well.

It still blows my mind that considering there is no PVP and this game will NEVER be an e-sport, how bent out of shape people get over other players gear and successes within the game. Their experience and gear should NEVER, EVER impact your enjoyment or experience in the game, and if it does, you're clearly doing it wrong.

I've set my expectations of what I intend to get out of the game while I play (probably 2-3 hours a day perhaps) and I don't care if I can't farm t6 but I'm enjoying the game for where I am, and yeah its frustrating getting the same gear sometimes or items that aren't upgrades, but its certainly exciting when you finally do get one..and it makes it all the more enjoyable.

I'd much rather have the current system that's in place rather than a WoW style loot grab where epics fall from the sky..it really makes the game dry and bland and you'll lose interest much more quickly than you would with the current system.

    Either way...to each his own...

    Quote from Herecius

My problem is definitely that Fire is strong not simply because it has all the strong runes, but because with Cindercoat and Magefist, as well as really good +Fire weapons both 1h and 2h for Maximus, you can push your Fire bonus MUCH higher than you can with other damage types.

More build diversity would be had with more elemental options in various gear slots.
Eh I'd say other gear sets are pretty close if not even with the +20spell dmg bonuses. Fire might be the only one one that has a chest otherwise most other pieces are even.

posted a message on Changing skills element... Why?
    Quote from Bleu42

Because as it stands now most elements correspond with a type of rune; lightning stuns, cold for bigger aoe radius / slows, ect. Fire seems to almost always be for a pure dps increase which is making it the best element type and narrowing skill choices.
This. Build diversity is a good thing, having to stack specific skills due to their element pretty much forces you to run a certain build in most cases. This just expands on the opportunity for people to try other skills or combine different ones they wouldn't have been able to before.

It was fun at start but rifts are boring as fuck, thats why i saved well over 500 rift keys before i started doing rifts. I farmed a bit of Manglemaw, i've done some bounties, i've done chest runs, i've done Firestarters. It was fun for a while. THEN they nerfed everything and pushed everyone to rifts. I spent my 500 keys now and with the 100% more legendaries i've been able to complete all the barb sets and found out they all suck comparing to WW SOH (until the nerf) and i'm currently using the EQ one (i even have boots) which feels a bit slow even if in reality it's not. I was getting well over 30 legendaries a day (6 hour playing after work) so ye. I have small room for improvement, the one i can think it's the Hexing pants and a better amulet, maybe weapons too. I'm bored as fuck now, i'm waiting for ladders.

    My profile : http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Deepsidedj-2788/hero/618431
why don't you start another character then? It kind of amazes me how people get burnt out after a month. I'm still no where near complete for any of my 3 characters and I'm all about min-maxing. Granted I only play probably 2-3 hours a day..so it doesn't really affect me.

I find it laughable that people spend 10-12 hours a day, (not saying you are specifically) but then say this game is boring, I'm bored, wheres the end game, etc etc when you've clearly just exhausted your interesting in the game because you've hit a wall. Once you hit that area of gear where you're struggling to get upgrades in terms of your gear being pretty much ''that good'' that it becomes much more rare to get an improved item....it's going to happen.

I think blizzard has tons of room to improve on the game, and I think they've got the framework in place to make that happen. I've spread so many good ideas across so many posts I can't even keep track of them anymore.

    • itemization: i.e.; making better use of rares, blues, whites because right now save brief leveling/upgrade place holder.. they are all just crafting material. I'd perhaps like to see blues/rares roll specific mods that are unique to them. Perhaps add more socketable item capabilities, right now there are only 5 socketable gems..and it dwindles down even further when you're min/maxing based on the item slot. This could be done in the form of runes..that add specific mods, effects, damage, auras, summons, casts, etc.
    • Charms, yes I said it..charms. Perhaps give people the ability to craft and/or find charms. There is plenty of crafting material to use because after awhile..they just add up. I've got 3k crystals and about 700 deaths breath just sitting around for nothing.
    • level off reforging costs..make them hit a max of lets say...500k.
    • allow forgotten souls to be bought with deaths breath/bloodshards
    • alllow for public game pvp flagging (balanced/unbalanced I'd still like to gank people..that's the fun)
    • better boss mechanics.. why not have rift bosses summon elites as the fight progresses for example?
    • Why have an opportunity to potentially fight 2 or more bosses at once (WoW council reference!)
    • dual spec/gear capabilities (omg WoW reference)
    • runewords potentially?
    • Truly endless dungeons; rifts do end.
    • better mob density in rifts, more challenging mob mechanics in rifts.
    • Perhaps make rifts have harder settings such as not being able to use health potions, slower hp regen, whatever something different
    • maybe introduce a random world even spawn like d2 clone.. since the soulstone is missing..perhaps a ''shade of diablo'' that is a boss that hits like a motherfucking truck that does a guaranteed legendary drop or something else.
    • if they do introduce ladders... perhaps ladder only items and/or ladder only bosses

Really now? I lack empathy, for bullshit QQ threads about someone who can't get the items they want when they want? You're absolutely right.

I'm not sure if you've realized but as you gear up the the game, the time it takes to get an actual upgrade goes up, and up, and up, and up, and up. The more gear you get, the harder it is going to become to replace said gear. It shouldn't take hours, it should take days, weeks, and yeah even months to min-max your character to the point where you don't need anything besides paragon levels.

What the hell do you expect is going to happen in the game? They keep releasing new stronger items every month? No..sorry that's now how the game works.

Wow you've started using big words to try to mask your bullshit. I can pretty much tell you right now, blizzard doesn't gauge their loot systems success/failures based on user posts. If you for one second believe they don't have internal mechanisms for monitoring most if not all aspects of the game, you clearly don't understand development and administration of a video game.

Also, why does someone elses experience in the game somehow ruin yours? What the flying fuck does it matter if someones doing t6 and you're stuck doing t1? Does their experience ruin yours in some way somehow?

All I get from your posts is jealousy, and the fact that you don't get what you want, you feel there is a problem with the system. Hey that sounds just like life in the United States, people bitch and moan that their entitled to something, yet do nothing for themselves.

Do us all a favor, get off diablofans and go on the battle.net ones.
