posted a message on DiabloFans Calculator Build Contest (ONE POST ONLY)

This is a high survivability Witch Doctor build for higher difficulty levels. The massive number of pets are meant to act as tanks to keep baddies off the WD. There is also a great deal of healing should damage become a problem. The biggest issue is mana management, but survival seems more important at higher levels.

posted a message on Diminishing returns
Another question is if diminishing returns come into play in things like PVP? I haven't seen anything on this myself and am curious...

Could a team with heavy CC, ala all witch doctors, basically chain CC an entire other team? Or is there DR like in wow on CC effects used on other players/mobs?

posted a message on Diablo 3 Soloable? All Difficulties?
I rather hope that the whole game is soloable as well. That said, i think it will be pretty dependent on specific class choices. For instance, completing the game as a melee class seems like it will be much harder than completing it as a ranged. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they have perfect balance and melee will have high enough defense to survive. But if this is like older games, not getting hit will go a long ways towards completing the entire game by yourself.

posted a message on Zombie Dogs-- Worth the active skill slot?
It definitely feels like these are going to be a wait and see sort of thing... While they are obviously very practical on normal difficulty in act 1 of the beta, the question is what their survivability will be like at higher levels. If all three of your puppies get wiped out in less than a minute, and you're constantly sitting there with the skill on cool down waiting to suppon them again, then I think they won't be viable. But if they are able to survive in higher difficulties, then they will be useful to draw attention away from the WD so he can go to town on badies before they get into range.

posted a message on Why do you melee/Barb?
Barb definitely seems like a very fun brute force kind of class, but my concern with it in D3 is at the higher difficulties. With ranged it's always fairly easy to kite and kill large packs of mobs, but with Barb (and Monk) that becomes more challenging. Therein, as the damage levels pick up, I worry that it will become less viable, or at least rely more on RNG to determine if you life or die. That's why I'm going with ranged for my main end game, high difficulty toons. I will definitely play play Barb for lower difficulties, but just worry about survivability at high levels.
