It is just the beginning. They have already found a way in, now they go off that knowledge and find 10 more ways in. Blizzard fails at security once again ha.
Show us how to make a system that runs online that some of the best hackers in the world cannot break then, i dare you.
Things aren't being hacked. Bugs are being found. These are two very different things.
Dashing Strike is still available. The cost has been increased to 25 spirit (up from 15 spirit) and the damage has been increased to 100% weapon damage (up from 80%).
Yes, the cost increase sucks if you are only interested in the mobility it provides (which is all most people care about regarding this skill). On the plus side, there is a rune you get later that decreases the cost to just 10 spirit.
I think console will be a big failure. Can not see how to play Diablo on a pad in Inferno when positioning and targeting will be so important.
And I think Blizzard underestimate the difficulty to enter a "new" market.
I doubt they under estimate it. They have tried this before and failed horribly. I'm sure they know exactly how hard it is to take a game designed for PC and adapt it to a controller and a console. They have only said they are interested in releasing a console version if they can make the game feel like it was designed for that console. If they can't get the game experience that good then they won't do it.
Some people just prefer to game on a console. In addition to that, some people don't have a PC that will run the game as well as their console could. Finally, Blizzard is always looking to entice new players to their games. Expanding their reach to other platforms is only natural.
The cost of a PC, new or used, thats able to run D3 fine, is no higher than a 360 or ps3.
I have always been againts D3 for console and always will be, the Diablo games are for PC its that simpel.
Yes, that is true, but most people will just play on what they already have if they are given the option. There are plenty of people out there with crappy computers that have a decent game console.
I thought about having it appear in normal mode, but the problem with that is at level 1 you only have one ability, which means in order to not jack up the intended level progression of act 1, act 0 would need to keep you at level 1 the entire time. It's hard to feel like your character is becoming powerful enough to take on the world on their own when all they have to show for it is one ability. I mean, could you imagine the epic showdown between the wizard and the archmage if all she had was magic missile? Boooring. By having it unlock at nightmare and downleveling your character for the duration of act 0, unlocking levels at predetermined points of the act, your character could start at the weak "I only have one ability" stage then rapidly advance to a godlike level of power fitting for their epic introduction to the outside world.
Yes, but you could start all characters with just basic attack and teach them their first ability during act 0.
I think an Act 0 could be cool but I think it would be best used as a tutorial level of sorts. Teach the player to play the game with that and remove the 100 pop ups that show up during game play.

I really like this design. My only real concern would be people playing on a standard resolution instead of a wide screen resolution. The UI would need to be able to support that.
Also, for party, it could probably just use a tabbed view where the chat avatars are. A tabbed interface for channel, party, guild, etc could work.
What the heck, I'll post a video of the Options pane too. This is my first video with voice over so be gentle.

Not bad, sir. Your mic is much better than mine... I really gotta get rid of this thing, way too much noise on the line and I have to remove it with editing software.
Only real thing I would suggest is when you put the video together, you may want to increase your recording steam volume over the game's output. If you're not splitting them while recording (for example, recording voice with fraps) you may need to adjust your in game volume, sometimes it's hard to hear you because of the music.
Thanks! Yeah, I noticed the music drowning me out at times; just didn't want to redo the video. I was recording the voice with Fraps so didn't have a way to increase it or decrease the game sound after the fact. As I said, first time doing a voice over. I'll definitely adjust for future videos. I'll probably try to record in such a way that I can adjust the volumes of the two inputs at the edit stage so I can get it just right.
