I didn't try though, maybe joining the game, wping and walking through the cathedral would have been enough to allow you to enter to the SK's room during the event...

If a weapon has a 1.0 AS ; you've got 1hit per second
if you increase your weapon AS by 75% ; you've now 1.75 hit(s) per second ? (that's here that I'm not confident ^^)
So :
1.75 hit(s) / 1 sec
3.5 hits / 2 sec
7 hits / 4 sec
....
So 1 hit every (4 / 7 = 0.57~) sec
Eventually, you would attack every 0.57 sec, not 0.25 sec. Huge difference.
EDIT : preshot by Solmyr77 =[

The only thing that counts is that you can enjoy a part of the game.
We all know how hard it is to get in, and we all want so hard to get in (hum... in the game I mean :x) so why would it be less enjoyable to have more fellows able to enjoy the game aswell ?

Probably need to rethink partially the builds I made before, but it shouldn't be a complete rework, since the Rune-as-items have just been replace by Spell Runes, the effects remain the same I suppose...
It'll only be possible to work on a lvl 60 build though, since we aren't anymore able to choose which effect we'll use as soon as we get lvl 30.

Maybe did I misandurstand what you said, but the system as it is now has nothing to do with the choice of the Runes, in the end game.
The major drawback is the lack of feel to get better. You are just given every spell and every spell runes as you level, you aren't able to choose which effect to set in the first place (due to forced unlock order), and once you've reached lvl 60, there is no more progression Skills side : you just, as it was in D2, have to run to grab some gear.

But I think that :
- dfans.com is not the place to discuss at if you want Blizzard to be aware of the debate (though they probably browse every major community website's forums),
- I hope that they won't revamp the system one more time for now, maybe in a future expansion pack (as they regularly do for WoW for example), 'cause I'm dying waiting for the game to be released xd !
To go back on the debate, I think the major "drawback" (from Blizzard point of view at least) is that if you're able to choose the order in which you unlock the Spell Runes, you won't "enjoy 100% of the game" (you'll focus on YOUR build, YOUR prejudice (is it the word ? :x) and potentially miss cool and effective Spell Runes effects that you did not choose in the first place). To force the unlock order is a way for them to hopefully make players experiment with all effects until they reach lvl 60, and THEN choose which skills suit better for their gameplay, once you've potentially tested all of them.

I agree with you on the fact that they could just remove the notion of "Spell Runes" and names them "Spells" instead. Then if you put back the runes as I see them, we just get back on the previous system, except that there isn't 7 ranks of runes, but just one or two.

My favorite spell is plague of toads, and it has a great synergy with Grasp of the Deads : more aoe slow => more toads reaching targets = win.
I'm not convinced by the system as it is right now.
To my point of view, and to be on par with Blizzard, I think that every Spell Rune that is automatically unlock should just "Transform" the spell, modifying it's effect, but not making it more powerful (ie : no more damage, just elemental addition). Additionnally, they should put the Runes as items back, only one Rank (or 2, but not 7 as it was before), very loooooowww droprate, that make spell more powerful again.
So the spell morphing is a two times operation :
- first you unlock every form of all of your spell automatically, as you level up through Normal to Hell (or Nightmare ?)
- second you look for the Runes-as-items that make your spell more powerful (extra very low chance to drop in Nightmare, very very low chance to drop in Hell, low chance to drop in Inferno)
This way, you're able to experiment with each of the spell aspects, you can also enjoy "100%" of the game, in the way that every effect is at disposal, even for the more "casual" player (that blizzard want to take care of), but for the more hardcores of us, it's still possible to "tweak" or "enhance" our builds, by searching those Runes items. And the "Inventory mass storage problem" is still solved (as there is only one or two ranks, and the drop rate is low enough to not flood the market, at least for the first 6 months).
What d'you think ?

Every time I tell myself : "Ok, now it's 100% perfect, it's time for them to release". And everytime "Well... we aren't satisfied enough with [Insert random feature], so we'll probably iterate a bit more on it, but don't worry, it'll be ok soon".
So, as FreddyBenson said, let's just hope people stop crying about everything, this way we may be able to have the game for Christmas k12

Anyway, enjoy, Paladin is a very interesting class to play with, many aura to manage, high survivabilty (shield block, def aura), high mobility (vigor) etc.

Maybe you said it before but, what class are you playing again ?
Cause I have to admit that if you're playing a melee class as you first character, you could easily be overwhelmed by Raka's crew.
Distance : try to shot 'em one by one and keep a safe distance between the stones and you.
Melee : rush into the pack but back before being in melee range, this way you should get the aggro of the few nearer mobs, kite them a bit and kill them. Repeat. Try to not hit Rakanishu while tanking any additionnal mob, 'cause his "lightning enchanted" aura could be deadly for you.
Hope this helps

Btw I was trying to figure out the Quest you're stuck at... cause I've never been really stuck anywhere in the game, except when I was nonstop OneShotted by Lightning Enchanted's, act 1 hell ;O
Feel free to ask, it's your thread, after all

I'm probably one the most addicted and fanatic Diablo fan ever, played D2 from the start until recently, solo mode, open battle.net, closed battle.net etc, watched the direct live stream of the k8 Paris WWI, and, as most of you, got in transe as I saw that the Diablo Franchise was reloaded.
Since then, I've been daily reading every post on community fansites and official ones.
But I aint one of a hard poster, just a sad forum lurker.
So according to you, as I have less than 25 posts, and I've never (or so) posted until today means that I didn't give a fu** to the game until now ?
That's hilarously wrong.
Don't be so mean and jelly, the game is about to be released, and as days pass, we are getting closer to the salvation.
Oh, and no, I have not any fucking beta access either.
