posted a message on Error 37 US Servers - Authentication Server High Traffic
Was in game and was booted out quickly. Prompted with an error saying the service was having issues. Tried re-logging in and wasn't able to. Received an Error 37. Anyone else experiencing this? I noticed the America's server on the server status page has arrows all in the Up position.

posted a message on Barbarian | Hell | Act 1 | Nothing Ever Drops | Seriously?
I have been calm and patient about this and now I'm just frustrated. The drop rates for anything "armor" or weapons or jewelry is paltry to non existent. My magic find isn't crazy high but at 44% and almost through Act 1 on Hell I expect to actual pick something up after killing a rare or unique monster pack that actually improves my character.

I mean hours upon hours into the game and I am actually only finding better items once in a blue moon from a vendor or from my artisans after shamelessly "crafting" items again and again and again. After several tries something great gets crafted - but mostly its all useless.

I don't know if any of this is as a result of a patch. Hell seems more nerfed than a couple of patches ago since I last played. Which is great because I would get one shoted all the time; sometimes even fighting regular packs.

I am playing from the mindset of a purist. I don't like using the auction house because the thrill of the entire game, like the previous games was the crawl. It may be "hard" to down an enemy but the satisfaction is that doing so will grant you an item or 2 that will help for the next while before you hit another proverbial "difficulty wall."

Final thought if I do find something and say its a chest piece the reward is like 3,000 HP + - 150 damage. It seems like an extreme trade off. Can't both go up on anything? And why does my level 54 Barbarian look like he is still in a loin cloth? Goodness in Diablo 1 and 2 when you got to hell on the first difficulty you had full Plate Mail and looked like a savage. Here it looks like I'm wearing a belt and shoulder straps.

I hope this "rant" helps. I think the game is great but I can't help but feel that the primary allure is gone - I just don't get anything good nearly as often as it would feel good to. To go through an entire act and get next to nothing that improves over nightmare difficulty is just absurd to me.

Blizzard (Blue) wouldn't mind your thoughts here. I tried to make this a well thought out post.

posted a message on Dungeon Entrances - Colors Removed No Glow - Graphic Change
Per this new 1.02a patch all dungeons don't have that blue, yellow glow. Is this just on my end or is everyone seeing the same effect entering into each dungeon. You see it even entering in Deckard Cain's house or the Inn in the beginning of the game. Each entrance is dark with a little graphic effect. The bright wash of light is no longer there.

Is this server side, client side or just not a mentioned change. Couldn't find anything in the forums about this.

posted a message on Achievements (Americas) - Updates on Lost Achievements?
The achievements are so awesome :) Just seeing if there is any updates regarding lost achievements and if the current issue will affect collecting achievements (having them calculate properly) in subsequent play sessions.

    Loving Sanctuary!

posted a message on Compare Items - Follower Inventory and Character - Hot Key?
Is there a way to compare items (i.e. sword) in your inventory with one equipped by a follower to determine if something better is in your inventory than what they have equipped? This is done by default for your hero but would be helpful for the relevant items that your follower can equip.

If this functionality doesn't exist - perhaps patch?

    Thanks.

posted a message on Paul Eiding - Diablo 3 Voice Actor?
Who? For those who don't know he played the voice of the narrator in both Diablo 1 and 2. He was awesome when he did voice over for the various tomb readings in the game.

Q: Did he lend his voice talents to Diablo 3?

Lol, I think i'm going to find my old generic white microsoft ball mouse to play with. You people and your lazer diode dark field super 8 button mice, pshaw, two buttons, no scroll wheel, on a cloth mousepad ftw.

Anyone still got the original razer boomslang? Mine's busted but, oh the memories of performance gaming ball mice, waffle.

Those mice balls were great for causing pain to my classmates. Anyone else?

    Going old school :)

Microsoft Mouse Explorer 3.0 (actually I bought the newest version of this a few months back) Can get it at Best Buy its called the "Legends Edition".

posted a message on Options Menu - Only Pick Up Magical Items?
I remember reading a blue post somewhere that this option had been discussed. Will this be added in by release or post release so you can enable whether you "see" and "pickup" only magical and unique items?

posted a message on Inventory Auto Sort Option / Button?
In Diablo II I remember there was an auto sort / manage button to optimize free space by moving all items around for you in the inventory. Was this planned for Diablo 3 and didn't make it in or is this an intentional game play mechanic? Thanks.

posted a message on Post Release Content
While I know there will be an immense amount of content at release that will keep us busy for hours, days and months on end I was curious if there will be item sets / types or any additional content (minus PVP) added in post release patches. I realize this isn't an MMO and there is not a monthly subscription that would cover this. I recall some blue postings about post release content but perhaps this is just referring to optimization and play balancing.

Any thoughts or insight here? Many thanks. Looking forward to May 15th and creating my midnight Barbarian.

posted a message on Nightmare, Hell and Inferno - Unique Quests / Events for Later Difficulties
I'm curious - Has any content has been created that is unique to these later difficulty levels (nightmare, hell and inferno) in regards to quests or events?

If not, are there any plans to add them post release?

Many thanks! Looking forward to diving in on May 15!

posted a message on 63k+ Active Players?
    Quote from Ebonmourn

I wonder if they will do this again next weekend if there are still issues come Monday morning...???

While they only posted "this weekend and this weekend only" I'm sure there is wiggle room with that statement. Depending on how this test goes they may continue through the week or do another stress test next weekend. I think doing weekend stress tests will get the optimal (read maximum) amount of people logging in and doing things in game at once. All that activity will show where things are week server side and where they are not. From a networking perspective I'd imagine this weekend and possibly a followup weekend will indicate whether they need more servers, load balancers etc to manage the heavy traffic with minimal to no lag.

I'm so glad they are doing this! I have been playing in the beta for months now and have witnessed the evolution of the skill systems and game. It's really great to see that they are purposely trying to BREAK the system - that is HOW you should QA. Mad kudos to Blizzard for this!

Can't wait for release :) I might just have to stock up on the Red Bull :>

posted a message on Character (C) Pane - I Miss That Thing | Blizzard / Players Weigh In
    Blizzard,

I am nothing short of excited about this game. Been waiting as many have for quite some time and I do believe firmly - good things come to those who wait.

I have been enjoying the Beta and its great to get a peek behind the curtain at the iterative game development process from patch to patch.

    Question:

    Is the Character Pane (C) hotkey - removed / getting re-worked / re-imagined / re-considered etc.?

I really miss this! I just feel that from a UI perspective at least "pretty" perspective it looked AMAZING and I just don't see myself going to the "details" page often enough to warrant the change to the inventory pane. Furthermore with the removal of the Caludron of Jordan and Nephalem Cube it seems there would be plenty of room to have the "Details" button put there instead.

The C / I key combo has been around, in pretty much every isometric based hack and slash RPG I can recall including D1 and D2. I hope this is being reconsidered. I just think it was a prettier more relatable layout to players of the genre. It looked like a lot of effort had been put in to this page with the mindset that it would be a fixture / staple page for players to visit as they progressed through the world of sanctuary.

Many thanks for reading and I'm looking forward to release :)
