Blizzard launchers can use BitTorrent so speed should not be an issue (more people -> faster download).Quote from aldoraI don't think the size really matters, more the speed we will get when 100k ppl want to download it If i remember correctly i had to download 350mb ish last patch.

That part of my post goes beyond the original question about Christianity, I was refering to "softened" games in general. As one example, what about the gore and nudity explicitly displayed there? Granted, with poor graphics, but it's about principle.Quote from dustI don't see anything beyond the pentagram...which is probably closer to wicca than christianity considering the magicalness that gets tied to it.

The way I see it, it's pretty simple:Posted in: Lore & Storyline
Classic games from the 90's did not care about being politically correct. Developers just did whatever they think is cool to create an awesome game.
So speaking about Diablo - of course it was heavily inspired by Christianity and western pop-culture references. Churches, crosses, shrines, demons, angels, tortured people, pentagrams ... everywhere! It was really that obvious but there was no need to make any explanation - because all that mattered was the game.
Sure, there were some tiny bits about Three evils and such, but most of the backstory got retconned much later.
It's a new trend to explicitly repeat all over again that it's in fact just a fantasy world and it has nothing to do with reality. Diablo is not the devil, the story actually happens in Sanctuary, Vrykul have nothing to do with Vikings, Pandaria isn't about asian cultures, ... you name it. All this just to make sure you have an excuse in case some ethnic/national/religious group gets offended.
So my answer is: Back in Diablo, it did not matter.
If you actually look at various details on screenshot, you will realize what I am talking about and how much "softened" current games are.

I too have to recommend Logitech G500.Posted in: Technical Support
They simply took MX518 which is kinda a legend among gamers and added few little improvements that are useful but don't bring any significant changes. I am mainly talking about big buttons covering the whole surface now (without the plastic gap in between), next-gen scroll wheel, matte surface and improved thumb buttons.
In my opinion, there are no flaws any more and this mouse is close to perfection.

They did not have a problem with letting us (EU) play before 9 hours before US when Cataclysm was released.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
The thing is that Europe wants to have midnight release parties as well and it would be weird if you came home and had to wait till the morning to actually play the game.
But Diablo isn't WoW so who knows, it might be different. I am not exactly sure whats the deal with regions and stuff in D3.

Excuse me but why do we care about performance in the first place? Considering that we are on D3 forum, I assume that it's not to get fast build times when coding but rather to make games run with good FPS on high graphics settings. All in all, to get a pleasant gaming experience.
That being said, I don't see how graphic experience is any more important than sound experience. FPS drops are as much annoying as buzzing and humming coming out of your headphones/speakers.
If you do have the extra money that you want to spend, replacing your sound card will be much more noticeable (assuming that you have adequate sound system) than jumping from 85 to 100 FPS (random numbers, the point is that anything above your screen refresh ratio is irrelevant).

I know this isn't an option for everyone, but CE combines really nicely with WoW Annual Pass.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
This way I'll have digital version available and will be able to play right away at midnight. And few days later when the CE box finally arrives, I'll get 4 moths of WoW time automatically refunded (yes, it's there when you actually read the contract). So I'll be essentially paying only the difference between digital and collector's edition while getting benefits of both.

Where is it?Posted in: Site Suggestions and Questions
I am looking for an indicator that shows that since my last visit, there have been new posts added to the thread.
And more importantly, a link that allows me to "Go to first new post" because I can't even imagine using forums without this feature any more.
Or am I just blind?

I totally agree. Username is so detached from the whole post that it's only natural to look for it above the avatar picture. I kinda got used to it now, but I was really confused at first as well. And I still find it a bit annoying.Posted in: Site Suggestions and Questions

I've always been a big fan of AMD mid-range graphics with quiet cooling and low power consumption but still somewhat decent performance. Currently I am using my old HD 4670 because it can easily run WoW on ultra and thats pretty much all I am playing.Posted in: Technical Support
But all in all, it's time to finally replace this three generations old graphis, especially because I want to enjoy D3 fully - without any annoying FPS drops or poor details.
So my question is simple, anybody here already purchased new HD 7770 and tried playing beta on it? How does it perform? Is it good enough, or should I rather wait for HD 7850?
Any info much appreciated.
