    Quote from kito90

So what you're saying is.. By altering skills and variables for a class, there has sprung up new builds that are being tested on the PTR,that is perfectly logical. What is not logical however, is your conclusion that because more builds are being tested due to changed parameters, there is a higher amount of viable diversity. The reason for the vast difference in builds is simply this: The players have yet to find the few min-maxed builds that will prove most functionable, wether or not you see 5000 builds or 5 builds on the PTR is irrelevant as people will drift over to the ones that prove most efficient at their intended role once the patch hits live.

Another cool thing is that I read people trying new builds, which means a lot of diversity.

    No.

What that is, is simply a matter of people trying to find out what is currently working, it is not a sign that more builds are viable, it is a sign that people are testing to determine if thats the case or not. It does not however mean that there is diversity.

Crafting, gambling, and reforging beg to differ.

Of course if you've tunnel-visioned onto how horrible everything is, I wouldn't expect you to figure out how to gear up another class by farming on their "main" in the current system.
    Tu Quoque.

The simple fact is, the vast majority of items you find.. and I mean the vast majority will have stats that are beneficial to your class, crafting has a couple of valuable items but overall they're not on par with dropped items, gambling is just a sideproduct of rifts and the likelyhood of acquiring something from gambling is absurdly low for the amount of time you need to invest. Reforging.. Yes, I've got a bucketload of belts and weapons for all my characters thanks to reforging but because it was initially dropped for one of my characters I had to reroll something that made the weapons suboptimal.

All that aside tho, what I said was: You can't gear them up by playing your primary class.
You don't gamble for your crusader on your wizard, you don't craft for your crusader on a wizard, you don't reforge for your crusader on a wizard.. I'm certain if you think long and hard about it, you'll figure out why.

Played ~200 hours on my wizard, found 6 set items, 3 of those were non-wizard (and the other 3 each of one of the wizard's sets, so no set bonus yet). Combined with shared loot from the people I play with, I have gathered quite some equipment for all other 5 classes. Filled some gaps with crafting, and now they're all ready to go for Torment (my monk even T6) despite the fact that 99% of the time I played my wizard.
Played 641 hours on my wizard, found well over 30 set pieces.. about 20 of those were "non-wizard", but in reality they were absurdly bad variations of blackthorn and travelers pledge/the compass rose, but you know whats funny? All of those has been statted to suit my wizard, ofcourse my WD can benefit from using any of these as it is still a stats improvement BUT the item was dropped for my wizard, it mainrolled int and even tho it didn't specifically state "wizard" on the item, it is with these stats used purely for a wizard.
Played 174h on my crusader, found 4 set items, 2 blackthorns, 1 travelers pledge and 1 sabaton of akkhan, again.. Massively shocking, the items has been revolving around the class I played at the time, namely the Crusader. They either had stats that would require atleast 2 reforges to be viable for another class or simply lacked the stats to be useful for anyone at all.

As for your trading loot, lets delve into that for abit shall we? If you're playing your wizard with a monk, a barbarian and a demonhunter, then reasonably you've got access to items from all 3 cores: Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence.
But the items are still being streamlined towards each of the classes that use any given core, so the monk and demonhunter is far more likely to obtain dexterity based items, eventually they'll come across items they don't need and then they'll either salvage them for forgotten souls OR hand them over to one of you who do not use dexterity on your primary class, fact still remains you: You didn't get that item by playing your wizard, your partymember got you that item by playing the same class as the one who the item eventually went to.

I play my characters on torment from lvl 1 cause the game isn't exactly difficult, but what it do have is far too many restrictions in place to dictate what is worth doing for obtaining items.

You're too concerned with the goal and not the journey. I farmed Mephisto with my CL/FO Sorc for countless hours. I even had an Enigma for maximum farming speed but ya know what? I had everything on my sorc and farmed him to gear other classes. Don't be in such a hurry to reach your goals because you'll get bored a lot faster. If you don't have the patience or don't enjoy the journey, then you'll need to look elsewhere.
2 things are different here tho: Farming bosses has never been a viable approach in Diablo 3 and the loot you get now is streamlined to your class, thus you can't really gear up another class by playing your primary one.

Personally, I'd much rather kill bosses that are actually rewarding to kill rather than repeatedly run bounties for miniscule rewards so I can open rifts and there kill afew hundred mobs before getting a "boss" which is in the majority of cases nothing more than a minor revamp of the bosses that they've been oh so reluctant to make profitable in the first place.

I wanted the original game to be great, and I had the same hopes for RoS.

For people like me who spend way too much time gaming, I just feel that there isn't enough draw to keep going after a few weeks of heavy play. It's a bit of a disappointment for me and probably many others like me, as a lot of us had high hopes.
Sums it up fairly well, after you've spent a couple of weeks mowing through rifts and doing bounties with miniscule rewards it starts to lose its charm.

I've got my moneys worth from the game but compared to diablo 2? I just dont have the same initiative to get any farming going in this.. Partly because I'm still not allowed to play the game the way I want.

"So you haven't had any set items drop, except for the set items you've had drop. Got it."
So the plans share the dropchart of actual legendary items? Or do the plans share the dropchart with merely other recipes regardless of rarity?

Either way you're missrepresenting his point and you know it.

"And you haven't had any legendary items drop, except for the legendary items you've had drop. Okay"
Missinterpretation on purpose or mayhap you merely didn't understand what was said? He have invested close to 6000 bloodshards, which converts into 1200 gambled attempts without receiving a single legendary from doing so. I seem to average about 1 gambled legendary every 1000 shards, doubt he should be getting 1/6th of what I'm producing.
Not to mention a friend of mine racked up 8 gambled attempts and got 3 legendaries in the process, hes just exceptionally unlucky on the gambling front.

    MF% Doesn't affect legendaries.
Yes it does, but only with 10% of its original value. 100% magic find translate to 10% for legendaries.
Which is indeed an absolutely insignificant amount.

Your suggestions nullify what the build is, man. There is a reason for why I chose everything that I chose -- this was not a thoughtless build. I tested out many combinations and this is the result of that testing.

Piling the monsters up is usually not an issue. As I said, many monks run cyclone strike and some wizards run black hole. Even if there isn't one of either of those, it still is never really an issue since you REALLY only want to use your cooldowns on elites/rares/bosses. Most elite packs tend to stay grouped together unless they're ranged mobs that like to run away. EVEN THOSE ONES are grouped initially and Judgement will root them in place.

I have a bit of a feeling you just glanced at the skill selection and didn't read any of the post. If that's the case, read the original post in its entirety and you'll find strong reasoning for WHY I chose what I chose. It's an amazing build.

As far as the block chance passive goes, I'm not interested in it at the moment personally. I've tried it out and I find my choices suit me better. My shield has a 30% block chance as it is. I've considered switching after I get Helm of Rule, but I'll have to wait and see.
Right, where do we start with this mess then...

Lets go with hold your ground. With your 30% blockchance you're estimating a for simplicitys sake roughly 1/3 of all attacks being blocks, with Hold Your Ground in your build, you're looking at pretty much HALF of the attacks being blocks which is a vast improvement.

As for nullifying the build? You good sir, is talking out of your arse. Your build revolves around buffing your teammates in such a way that they can burst immobilized mobs. That is all there is to it.

You're also building it around a proc-based rune (Akarats Champion) but don't have the actual hits to trigger the rune in a significant enough amount to get its full potentional.

The only 2 things that truly synergise really well are the LoV w/ critical and Judgement and even then replacing LoV for LoJ w/ bravery and as such freeing up the steed slot for an additional damage spell wether it is condemn w/ vacuum or Provoke w/ Charged up would see a significant improvement. Yes, you would see a dps decrease in terms of lower paperdoll damage but your actual damage would increase on any mob that has a lockdown.

So your build is amazing? I'll strongly disagree.. Mediocre at best.

Chain freezes can be countered by exchanging the Laws of valor with laws of justice (w/ bravery) and while it is a DPS decrease on the paperdoll it would let you replace the steed with something actually useful.

Judgement is great but it truly stands out if you have something to further pile up the mobs, if you have a wizard running black hole then thats great but otherwise you might have to do it yourself and then you got 2 choices: Sweep attack or condemn.

Furthermore in your current build you're losing out on 15% block, replacing one of the heals for hold your ground would grant you more survivability.(Personally I'd keep Renewal).

Swap out the steed for condemn with vacuum to pile up the mobs even further with judgement, replace either wrathful or renewal with Hold your ground.

In your current build the Rally rune on Akarats champion seems abit wasted, Yes you have 2 frontal cone attacks but any time a bunch of mobs surround you any mob behind you will wound up being uninjured.

Cant wait for the MP7-10 solo diablo inferno kills videos :D

How does a solo 22k dps monk diablo mp10 kill sound? the lenght of the video is only a couple of minutes shorter than the godfather movies combined.

And on topic: Athene + crew kills azmodan in 25 seconds, athene alone probably barely breaks the 5minute mark.
