Reflect damage is the worst affix.
Desecrator is just irritating cuz those stupid puddles last forever on the ground after the mobs are dead.

So I ran Act 1 last night, trying this out. Off the skeleton king, I got 1 yellow and a bunch of blues. I do better from a normal elite pack than that. "Improved loot" .... hardly. I also killed the key dude in the fields of misery and got the key. Then I got bored and quit. LOL.Quote from lorien1973
Bosses will now drop improved loot the first time they are killed in each difficulty- All characters have had their "first kill" status reset for all bosses in the game

You're kidding? MP1 is ~ 1.0.4 inferno (a little more health) but incoming damage is way down. Mp2 is more health than 1.0.4 inferno but it's just slower. Damage isn't significantly higher.
Some of elite affixes seem to act like they are on crack the higher MP you go. Wallers especially. -

This is huge, especially having it reset now. But, still, I just did half of Act 1 and it's clear the game is designed to be played on MP2 or higher. MP1 just doesn't deliver enough "free loot". Then again, MP2+ you are running back to town so much; they really needed to put the cube back in. It's silly.Bosses will now drop improved loot the first time they are killed in each difficulty- All characters have had their "first kill" status reset for all bosses in the game

MP10 appears to be for challenge more than anything else. There's even a thread here in Diablofans that shows it's not efficient even though you have higher levels for the content that you're at. If you were to twink out a character, then maybe it could be efficient.
What might be interesting is this. Extrapolate what your level would be at MP 10 at the end of normal/nightmare/hell. At what point do you reach level 60 - thus giving you access to the best gear. Let's say you hit 60 end of nightmare. And if you can MP10, say all of hell at level 60 - is that net experience better than doing inferno runs? -

MP10 in normal is to level faster, imo very usefull if you want to start a new char.
The extra time spent killing the skeleton king would let you move all the way thru the fields of misery. Now, tell me again, what is more efficient? Sure you'll out level content and make the experience easier, but you'll also level to 60 slower. -

All this video does is show it to be a complete waste of time for MP10 in normal. He took 7 minutes for 1 yellow and a blue? You can do that in any mode. -

I agree. It's stupid.
Then again, it might be an admission that not a lot of people are playing.
If they are worried about being able to complete parties of MP1 or 2; then imagine how difficult it'll be to create groups with MP8+. -

SK + Maghda seemed like the easiest combination. Especially since both are exeedingly predictable alone. Maybe the 3 phases where Maghda is invulnerable might be interesting. But beyond that?Quote from Zeyk23
Those guys handled it no problem, but got their butts kicked by Skeleton King + Maghda. Turns out SK does a ton of damage and double tornado isn't such a great build for avoiding attacks.
Dunno. Rakanoth sucks, though. That's all I know. Hate that instant kill teleport attack. -

X is a problem. Something must be done.
Y is something.
It must be done.
The discussion of "X being a problem" is completely foregone. Is losing NV stacks a problem at all? Or just a made up problem, that is a symptom of something else.
It's obviously the latter. A symptom of a larger problem. The problem is the loot drop system, which is simply awful. -

It's upsetting that the patches aren't all about you.Quote from Eikcam
This is ridiculous. I gear for glass cannon DH, they nerfed dh like mad so I geared magic find for looting. Added paragon so mf gear became worthless, i gear a monk for tank, they nerf it. Whats the fucking point.
They can make it easier and easier to obtain loot; but until the loot is interesting to obtain, what's the point? - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

This is my favorite drop I got. Not my best, mind you. My favorite. It's on my witch doctor. Despite the dex, the other stats were fantastic.
I found 5 legendaries today.
Are the only ones worth talking about. I did find some polearm the other day that cast sanctuary around myself on occasion and it had some sweet life steal on it. That was fun for a while - but I lost like 12k health using it. And playing the game of death brinksmanship got old after a few hours. Weapon looked sweet, though.
Hrm, I should put that ring on my barbarian and see if it helps his DPS too.

It seems like, the first time you stand in it or its cast under you, you have a second or two to move out of it; but future casts you do not get that time - they delay to take damage gets shorter and shorter as the fight moves on. It's like the timer isn't per descecration pool, but for the total fight.

Personally, I'd redo your build and go from there. Raising MP is barely significant for loot. Most importantly, I think if you skip "spirit vessel" you are gimping your survival dramatically. The pet builds just take up too many passives to be effective.
Here's mine. I've always felt bears was too difficult to maintain offense and it forces you to stand still. For a WD, that's bad news. So I've picked skills that let me move around a lot.

Fields of misery sucks.
Oasis sucks. (Though oasis is a lot better now, esp if you get those random crypts - resplendant chests rock).
Stonewall (or whatever) sucks.
They put them in the non-traditional routes of efficient farming on purpose, I'm sure.

MP1 just doesn't get keys reliably from the wardens. 2 is at least a decent chance.

Went thru the story (act 1 at least) to see if the bosses have better drop rates. It's not really worth the time to do so, from what I saw.

So, while you sit there trying to find a yellow upgrade (in game, the old fashioned way), your screen is suddenly full of hundreds of people looting legendary items. It's demoralizing.
In a less refined system (trading via chat or whatever), you see far less quality items offered for sale. Occasionally, you'll see a good legendary, but most items sold on trade chat suck. This, at least, lets you know that people are getting as bad drops as you do. So you don't feel so bad about yours.
So the AH has the effect of demoralizing the player (geesh, look at these 50+ pages of legendaries) which makes your efforts seem pointless in comparison. Even if you don't want to buy something, if you don't feel a pang of irritation at the hundreds/thousands of better items immediately available for sale; then you simply aren't human. Especially given that the rolls are not based upon skill, but on random chance.
I think things would be a lot different if the AH was broken up into servers (like WoW), so you aren't seeing items for sale from 10+ million players (or whatever) but maybe from a few thousand. That would, at least, make you feel less crappy about your bad rolls.
The AH has also altered, completely, the way this game is played. No longer is it "find a weapon to improve your survivability" it's become "spend XXX gold to buy upgrades" - it's one step away from being what gamers claim to hate - pay to win. And for the RMAH, it is pay to win.
