After seeing the recent data mining post hint at another difficulty mode, I am unsure whether this is really necessary.
Having completed Act IV Inferno on several toons, I felt it would only be necessary to tackle Act V on Inferno difficulty - which diminishes the Diablo experience.
On one hand, an extra difficulty setting gives me more to do with my Lvl 60 characters when the expansion comes out. - which is a good thing.
On the other, if I want to level a new character from scratch, I have to complete 5 difficulty setttings to get to "end game". That's a LOT of repetition. I feel the difficulties should be scaled to a maximum of 3 settings - therefore Torment/Inferno difficulty should be the Hell mode setting, or you should be able to skip difficulty settings if your toon can handle it.
I think the MP setting scales the difficulty experience without having to add ANOTHER difficulty setting.
I'll actually be quite disappointed if this turns out to be correct. I feel Imperius would be much better as a difficult/troubled protagonist in the story line.
We already have one fallen angel in Malthael.
Just looking at the Model Animations, I noticed the glowing wound is still evident on Imperius.
The follow up animation shows a large demon with similar wings in the background.
Could Imperius have been corrupted by Diablo's attack, and will literally morph into 'Wrath" as a demon?
Thoughts? Or have I missed this in the other datamined material?
It may not affect people in the US as much with ALL this downtime occurring in the early hours of their morning, but for us over here, it is PEAK hour.
I seem to recall a post from Blizzard before release that the downtime would be nothing like WoW.
Yes you can call this a whining post and say "But they are just ironing out post release bugs - they can't foresee these types off things etc..."
GTFO - I just wan't to play my game. An 8 hour downtime two weeks after release during peak hour is absurd for us Aussies / Kiwis.
It seems almost every second or third night I log on, the servers are down.
IT IS SO FRUSTRATING!! Especially after following Diablo 3's progress since announcement.
I can only listen to about one metal album in a row. It's just too grating.
You guys hear the new Meshuggah yet?
Koloss?
Incredible. I am not one to usually get on the more extreme technical of metal because it is hardly done tastefully, but Meshuggah always impress.
If there is one metal song that I would love love LOVE to hear re-recorded with decent production, it is End of an Era - Hopesfall.
That song - when it first came out - absolutely blew me away.
Now for shameless self promotion - my band The Rose Line. We got a song up featuring Karl Schubach from Misery Signals that will be on our debut release.
If you like modern metal / metal-corish type of stuff, have a listen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQM5sd_EnQ8
POE is another that will fall into this category I think.
But Diablowizard knocked the nail on the head - all the games that have been successful have released well before May 15, just so people could have a decent ARPG to calm their appetite for 'loot' and hack'n'slashing.
I have enjoyed the POE Beta though - especially the 'no gold' mechanic, where currency is just based on trade.
Quite inventive.
I have always been a big fan of Torchlight, but will not even look at it until I have exhausted my Diablo 3 experience, which will be a long long time. Does anyone else think that these companies are actually going to expect a lackluster sales performance due to the impact D3 will have on the gaming scene?
Im from Aus and my local EB Games told me that they dont get told until 2-3 days till release if they are having a midnight release. They had always done it for the wow xpacs so touch wood D3 gets the same treatment. But the strange thing is the store manager said its not up to her or head office its up to the company releasing the game and they only get about 2-3 days notice.
Sooo not sure weather thats blizz or the Aus distributer but fingers crossed.
Laws are different in Australia. The guys at GAME told me I would receive my CE the day before release, only because I preordered using the online store and there is some different law/loophole regarding shipping from a warehouse compared to retail sales. That is straight from the horses mouth - as I wanted to guarantee a CE copy ready to go at 4AM AEST (fffuuuuu so laaate in the niiight!!)
So, I trolled a post on my fiance's facebook wall.
Then I reposted it on my wall for lolls from my gaming buddies.
Future wife is currently pissed.
Should she harden up? And do I deserve a beta key? (lol)
