I just hope that items that will drop (especially legendaries) won't be legendary crap 99.9% of the time...Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Loving melee classes a lot, I started with a monk.Posted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep
Hit 60, farmed, spent a lot of money and made really good deals.
With 1000+ resist all, very good armor, I can survive act 2 with a crappy DPS and 100% skills dedicated to surviving.
Maybe I got something really wrong and did't invest in crit/crit dmg enough, nevertheless standing still to DPS is really boring to me.

Then I finished levelling my barb, got the same problems, then some day I discover the WW build, switches to it, and I can instantly farm act2 like it's noting, and go to act 3 for a good challenge.
http://eu.battle.net/d3/fr/profile/Gryzorz-2463/hero/1610772 (nothing special as you can see)
It's so fun, so fast, so versatile and so brutal that I haven't played my monk since, and probably won't whatsoever. (even great boost won't make up for the lack of mobility barbs have).
My advice : sad to say, but reroll Barb. Comparing those 2 classes is an insult to barb.

If 2h DPS would compensate for the lack of defensive stat we get from shields, we would (monk & barbs) be split.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary
At high level, suviving > dealing damage, since you ought to be alive to deal damage.
The slower the weapon, the more time you're stuck in the swing animation (i.e : not able to simply move), that's why people also prefer 1h.
Last but not least, stats like life/hit, that are extremely powerful at high level, work well with fast weapons.
So long story short...2h weapons have a small DPS boost (+50% ? less ?) but lack of everything else.

This is so sad. After spending a million+ at AH, I can barely survive act2.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I guess it's time to roll a WD to be able to properly farm :'(
...until they buff monk... someday...
ANyway, awesome vid !

BestBuy developer Q&A (still on page 1 currently, just before curse weekly roundup 5-5-2012) :
I know you don't plan to support Diablo 3 to be a eSport - If the commnunity wants it to become a eSport(without the implied balance), would you support it with replays/spectator mode and more ?
JayWilson: No. We don't want Diablo 3 to become an E-sport. It's OK to have PVP just for fun. Our focus is on our PVE game, and we want it to stay there.
I still mix up eSport/ranking, because for me, ranking = players turn the game into an eSport, that's why I make the shortcut.
That being said, I don't know how blizzard could do to include ranking without D3 to become an eSport, so maybe I'm not that wrong after all ^^

None of this will work for you d0c, because, as you said, your incentive to play is ranking (on top of fun), which will not be part of PvP.Posted in: PvP Discussion
Only those who can have fun without ranking will enjoy it.
For the others, it will get boring soon and they will move to a ranked game, or will hang to the forums crying for Blizzard to implement ranking.

Posted in: PvP DiscussionQuote from AstrandQuote from GryzorzThere are some people that would argue that the core of some previous Diablo games was PvP. I would argue "no it wasn't at all". There were no formal modes, there was no supporting systems, there was nothing. That was something we really wanted to change with Diablo 3, we want to say "You know what, there are people who really love PvP, and we want to make sure we support them.
So, because that was important to us, we it was critical that, just like everything else, when we put PvP out, that we do it right.
What I understand from this part is that Jay Wilson doesn't believe PvP was a core in previous Diablo. And he want to change it in Diablo 3 (which is alot different from what Bashiok is saying on the official forums). Because there was "nothing", there was also everything. And by that I mean, Blizzard didn't implement much, but players created a lot of modes because the system was very open for them. Now they want to support formal PvP modes and what I understand from that is making what was done by players (or part of it), an official part of the game. Will this include CTF, Rankings, and whatnot is yet to be seen, as we have no official information on what PvP patch will include.
How do you understand this quote?
Exactly the very same as you do, without rankings (they stated it again a few days ago on the longest FAQ I had ever seen).

I'm racing to be the first lvl 60 monk that goes there while never wear a left ring.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
wish me luck !
Oh, and I'm also racing to the first lvl 29 barb that uses only 2 buttons AND uses staves.

You're asking for many interesting things, but above all you're asking for ranking for PvP ("all those modes should include ranking").Posted in: PvP Discussion
It's not, as you seem to think, for the "enjoyment of all".
You need comparison to others to feel enjoyment. Fine. Don't assume everyone does.
I get that you think Blizzard should include ranking, despite what they said, to increase replayability.
Don't get me wrong, I think you're right, but they won't include ranking just to increase replayability. They seem to be focusing on quality PvE content to increase D3's lifetime.
Long story short : replayability is not a reason good enough for Blizzard to consider including ranking. Your ideas are great, provided you drop the "ranking" request (and DOTA, which seems a complete new game development !).

Changes :Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary
- inner sanctuary -> serenity (the REAL "oh shit" button)
- mantra of evasion -> mantra of conviction (so many debuff and survivability that I realized it would be useless to dodge a few debuffed shots, where I could be punching much harder instead)
