Absolutely agree with everything you've said. It's very well put and explains that very issue with PoE. The devs of PoE have their own views on how to get people busy and it seems like they bring you too much of literally everything because they just feel like people need more. They artificially increase the difficulty by favoring quantity over quality so you spend more time taking care of million of things and keeping them all in mind because that's real talent. It's not how good you fight, it's not how fast you can get from point A to point B, it's just how you manage through the game keeping in mind a million of things at once. It's ridiculous how people compare every other game they play with Diablo 3. Their devs have different approach to player needs and different people in charge with their own point of views on Arpg's. You simply cannot expect the same experience that you had with D3.
"you likely didn't play long enough to understand the appeal"
well,
thats one problem i have with poe, ive played it now, i think 3 times (installed, played, deleted) and i havent gotten to 'lategame' which is
supposed to be really great.<...>
if you want to play poe you need to read a shitton of guides, BEFORE you even level up your char, because if you dont, youll screw it up.
its not that i dont like some depth to games, reading guides and stuff, but its just too much.

Which build are you referring to? If you apply Vengeance - Dark Heart while you're in town this will greatly increase toughness number. Certain set bonuses (Unhallowed Essence) add up to your toughness as well as some items (Aquila Cuirass). It would be easier to tell if you give links to those characters or use a diablo 3 planner to calculate yourself and see what affects toughness.

It looks really cool and as many people have said above it would definitely bring more spooky feeling to the game, and as I think, it would put an end to density problem once and for all We could only hope that people wouldn't complain about having another density problem if there's more than two mobs around.
I've never realized that you could see tall buildings above walls in Caldeum's bazar. It kind of makes me think that those walls aren't that tall as I thought they were.
