We've found it a good practise to keep one or two elite groups with easy modifiers alive in a known location, so if we at some point are in danger of losing our stacks, we go kill one of the easy backup monsters to refresh the buff to 30 minutes.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
It should even work so that you kill two out of three elites champions in a group, or minions of a rare monster, so when going back you only need to kill a single monster.
This is especially good if you need to take a longer break either for outside game activities, or for a long boss fight.

Random loot means exactly that, random. Not that certain number is expected over such a small sample size (small compared to drop rates)

If I remember right, having high sound channels used to cause trouble in WoW at some point. So I went from highest to lowest and experienced less random disconencts. Probably a coincidence though :-)Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

It works exactly like armor, from damage that goes through your armor the resistance's portion is then reduced by multiplication. It's not supposed to get into very high numbers since armor already can get quite high. WW is awesome. Easily the best spender from my experience to level 33 so far. Other spenders you need to aim in a sector around you, WW you just point and roflstomp everything in the vicinity.Posted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep
I started with Cleave/Reaping swing and WW as m1 and m2, charge, leap, sprint and stomp as the other active skills.
From about 23 onwards it's been Cleave/Reaping Swings, WW/Hurricane, and Stomp, Leap, War Cry and Revenge/Vengeance is Mine with 3 defensive passives, and I don't think I'll change this setup for the remainder of leveling time.
WW with Revenge/ViM is absolutely ridiculous. On most groups I don't need to cleave at all, just use the specials that generate some fury, and WW away. Revenge runed like that heals for 8% max health per monster hit, and gives 5 fury per monster hit. This usually means a completely new fury bar, so I can WW again.
The fight would start for example by leaping in to a group of monsters, stomping them for stun, WW around a bit, revenge when fury runs out, WW again, leap out.
In addition to the aiming thing, WW has another upside which is immense. It lets you move through monsters. When I'm fighting a hard mob or group, I often leap in near it, and WW away from the monster - or the other way around. Absolutely no risk getting blocked between monsters and not being able to get away.
For bosses sometimes I change the skills around a bit, but it's not necessary on normal. Most bosses spawn some adds anyway.
If going this way, try to get a hard hitting 2-hander. Since you don't rely on cleave that much for fury generation, the better damage per fury ratio from 2-handers should go the extra mile. Seems to be hard to find good 2-handers though

Anything goes until we get more information. As long as you both know what is expected from each character, any class will be sufficient. You just have to form some kind of plan, like the much touted melee tanks and DH shoots at the mobs. But two ranged characters juggling slows, frost novas, grasps etc will also work.Posted in: Demon Hunter: The Dreadlands

DAMN, i Really hope this is some sort of mistake from Blizzards side, making gems worth more than the item u put it in is kinda dumb, but perhaps Blizzard want em to be the major goldsink after we have lvled our artisans to max to avoid inflation and stuff like that.
Would be more reasonable to make it so lvl 10 gems drop that lowers it from 729 till 81 which is better, but still a damn lot of gems.
The cost of creating an item, in this case the craftable one, doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the worth of the item that spawns from the crafting process. Tons of utterly useless items will be crafted, but some will be unbelievably good, almost perfect. The difference in price for the good and the useless will be more than 10 000x. It's not hard to believe that the gems fall somewhere between.
Crafting will be profitable in the big picture if, when tallying the thousands of items created, expected (= in this case average) value of the creations is more than cost of materials (+ AH fees). Even if this wouldn't be the case people will still craft, since "it's what the game is about lol"

Yeah rend is pretty weak with dual wielding since even though you have more fury generated with faster hits, you can't really spam rend all the time because it has a duration.Posted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep
