Am I the only one who is aching from nerdchills and tears after watching this?
It seems part of the prophecy is still missing though.Maybe some of it is told through ingame dialogue or the rest is in the expansion. Anyways, this was epic and that is an understatement...

Ok so Imperius is having some issues (including the ones he already had with the Nephalem) with his angel fellows ...thanks to diablos "sacrifice". What does that mean for the story?Posted in: Lore & Storyline
He obviously will not turn out to be diablo since we saw him and diablo in the same picture in one of the trailers. He is also not the one who will destroy the Arc since it's Tyrael in one of the trailers. So Imperius could be helping Diablo corrupting the Arc for whatever reason? Summoning/reanimate Diablo's brothers? Or will he kill an Angel during the events at the high heavens (imo Tyrael vs Imperius is inevitable) ? Some even said that the weapon smashing the arc is Imperius's spear in Tyraels hands? My money would be on Imperius killing Auriel then Tyrael battling Imperius... it is said in the book of cain that she/Aruiel keeps the group together. I guess wrath/Imperius can tear them (or Auriel in this case) apart!
This does not answer my questions concerning the black soulstone though... and how leah and Adria will factor in.
High heavens.... I want answers not more questions than I had before >.
EDIT: Dammit I forgot to read our "guideline" before posting and speculating...
"And. at the End of Days. Wisom shall be lost
as Justice fall upon the world of men.
Valor shall turn to Wrath-
and all Hope will be swallowed by Despair.
Death, at last, shall spread its wings over all-
as Fate lies shattered forever.
Sooooo Imperius kills/helps diablo kill Itherael, Auriel cries and gets swallowed by Despair (Black soulstone?) to form death (cuz we know death has wings to spread) while Malthael is nowhere to be found (til an expansion arrives)?

Posted in: Lore & StorylineQuote from Hell_BovineI'm pretty much convinced the fallen star is Tyrael - as several others have posted it fits much too well with the line of the prophecy "as Justice falls on the world of men" if you take it in a literal sense.
Also a big clue was one of the game Act 1 zone loading images - http://www.d3sanc.co...s-Portraits.png "Tyrael - Cells of the condemned"
As to why, again I agree with the idea of him being "cast out" by a majority of the other members (Auriel would likely be the only Angel who may have disagreed) with Imperius leading the charge. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Tyrael's banishment all comes down to Imperius since during the anniversary footage one of the new clips showed the following:
Tyrael holding a pole/spear, not a sword! While we can't confirm that it's Imperius' spear "Solarion" it's definitely likely as the shaft looks right, well fashioned and guilded: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64zI4LngYTU
Maybe He and Imperius actually fight, and depending on how it kicks off and the outcome it may seal Tyrael's fate in the eyes of his fellow council members. Also "and Valor shall turn to wrath" the wrath of imperius against Tyrael? Though more likely against all of sanctuary since it comes after the line about justice's fall. The only catch with this is that the book of Cain suggests Tyrael was severely affected by being at the worldstone's destruction and possibly even "killed" - maybe he ends up back in the Silver City to stand trial, but for the above video to work in the theory of his fall he has to have been "restored" before he is cast out... perhaps instead he fights with imperius later in the story after having been "rescued" by the heroes - this would also work with one of the other game panels from the final act (see first spoiler).
Angels are described as beings of light and sound - i.e. energy. There's no reason that energy can't bleed into their surroundings if say they're injured? Angry? Imprisoned (In the black soulstone maybe...)?, but what happens then might not be possible to control. Given what the area around Tristram has been through in the past it should come as no surprise that the "evil" that remains will be first to awaken.
My best guess? Tyrael is the fallen star, but trapped in/anchored to the black soul stone which he has been stuck in/with since the worldstone's destruction. His fellow angels refused to free him and instead banished him - firing the black soulstone back down to sanctuary (Tristram's cathedral has another soul stone deep in it's depths but this time there's an angel "in charge" - sounds like a fun spin on an old plot). The heroes go with leah to find it (hence why leah ends up with it later in the cinematics - trying to figure it out).
Concerning Tyraels weapon it doesn't have to be El'druin... If he is indeed the fallen angel cast upon earth as a meteor, maybe this form of transport does not allow unique weaponry or it is lost on his way down and we have to retrieve it?

Guys, congrats. I am trying to get a 4 player group of betawinners together for a thankyou-screenshot, so pm me if you got the time for a little teamup.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Only issue i can see so far is the monk only atacking with fists when a staff or axe is equipped. I think it was stated in the official forums a couple times... I reaaaaaally want some additional atack animations. Other than that the sound is everything a diablofan wants. Some epic tunes, some ominous creppy stuff and a lot of reminders to the diabloseries in the music. The soundeffects for atacks are awesome and I was giggling like a child when the first imp ran away and started screaming and wobbling in its high tune.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Got a key today as well If you want to team up some time, maybe we can get 2 other winners in the boat and make a 4 player party. A little screen of some of the winners would be a nice thank you wouldnt it? Anyways congratsPosted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Posted in: Lore & StorylineQuote from ZaxlorI was really excited when they announced this. I love the idea of a physical lore book from any series, much like when people make actual Necronomicons from the Cthulhu mythos. Even though i'm not the biggest Diablo fan (though getting into it more as i'm replaying Diablo 2 again on hardcore mode!), it sounded like a really good idea to bring all the lore together into one in character book.
Sadly, after reading some reviews of it from here and from other sites, i think i'm going to pass on it. What i'd hoped it'd be, was more like a diary, or at least a little more hand written. From the screen caps i've seen, quite alot of the page space is either blank, or has massive pictures taking up a whole page. While that's cool, i'd love some more annotation and more insane ramblings.
A beastiry would have been cool, with listings for what certain monsters are weak against, what their social habits are like. If anyone's played the latest Castlevania game on the PS3/360, i'd have liked it more if the lore entries had been done more like that. Small bios of the monsters, along with weaknesses and various images.
Beastiaries will come sooner or later on the wiki and/or diablo site... The baller thing about the Book of Cain is that the style is making me feel like I actually hold unto Cains memoirs. I really like the style it is written in. Especially the small bits about his sources and the creation. If we had a book like that in D1 I would've died a happy nerd the second I realized there is a map in it

AND it would make an awesome return for the D2 Necromancer. In the Blizz Lore panels it was said that we might meet one or the other former heros if i remember correctly so it could happen! Just imagine the D2 Necromancer helping you resurrect/stop summoning Trag'Oul... The future looks bright

I want to know more about the necromancers and individual tribes or factions. Would be fun to venture through the world and really see more backround put into the world, which up until d2 was pretty rare. I can't talk about D3 but so far the whole heritage of the character one is playing is missing imo.Posted in: Lore & Storyline

I think the black soulstone is the key to our future enemies.Posted in: Lore & StorylineAzmodan pretty much said Sanctuary is done if he gets it. There have been theories of Angel/Demon-fusion through the black soulstone or perhaps melting the evils together... (*cough* seven headed dragon *cough*) And we might not kill Imperius when Valor becomes Wrath, so there is another badass puppeteer for future plots and ballerisms...
