Avid Sevvil had loved the blacksmith's daughter for years. Somehow, each day he would find a reason to pass by the smithy in the hopes that he would see her radiant face. He knew he needed to talk with her, but the Sevvil family name held no respect. Living in the forest outside of the village, the Sevvil's suffered the reproach and admonition of the nearby townsfolk. They considered him and his family barely good enough to eat with the rats. Some in the town even called him "Binkles" because as a child, his forehead was full of wrinkles. The teasing song, children sang, about the "boy with wrinkles" simply added to his humiliation. The blacksmith's daughter, strangely, had been the only person in town that didn't look at Avid with disapproval, and because of this, he knew in his heart that she was different...and just maybe she could love him back.
Perhaps it was fate then that he met a passing witch doctor in the forest. Avid knew nothing of the umbaru peoples, and had he understood them he would have immediately made off in the opposite direction. As it was, however, he struck up a conversation with the traveler and after some time Avid told the witch doctor he was in love. The witch doctor stared at him in silence, almost as if he was pondering Avid's situation. Then after what seemed like ages, the strange man burst into a wild dance. Avid stepped back, but felt compelled to watch and listen as the witch doctor began rambling in a foreign tongue.
"OOO! EEE!" cackled the man as he danced slowly closer and closer. Avid was frozen, eyes locked squarely on the ritualistic display before him.
"OUA AHTINTAN!" the chanting continued. Avid felt powerless as the witch doctor moved within a finger's length of his face. The sky seemed to darken above the boughs of the nearby trees, and the sounds of the forest were drowned out by the eerie words dancing off the lips of this mysterious man.
Suddenly the chanting became louder. "WALAWA LABI!" cried the witch doctor, his voice taking on an almost animalistic tone.
"ENG BA ANE!
It was over. Avid looked around and to his surprise the witch doctor was gone. Confused, and a little frightened, he turned around and made his way home while trying not to think about what had just transpired. Before falling asleep, he felt something deep within himself changing, almost against his will. His thoughts, however, eventually melted away and he fell into a dreamless slumber.
The next morning, Avid awoke with a feeling of great determination. He made up his mind and decided he would finally talk to the blacksmith's daughter. Shoving aside feelings of inadequacy and fear, he headed into town.
Avid entered the village and as he neared the blacksmith, he could see a beautiful woman staring towards him. As he drew closer, he realized she was looking directly at him. She stood there, unmoving, almost as if she had been waiting all morning for this moment. Avid walked right up to her and stared into her blue-green eyes. Avid felt a wave of intensity well up inside him, and he knew exactly what he would finally say to her.
"Your love has been kept from me..." Avid heard himself speak. Something wasn't right, however. "...just like you were a miser!" he said, his voice growing louder. What was happening?! He tried to stop himself, but it was no use. He had no control over his actions, and as each second passed by he felt an increasing sense of dread. It was as if he was changing into someone else...or something else.
"I may not be smart." Avid started. "But I found someone else who was much wiser than me..."
A painful squeezing sensation overcame his body as he croaked out a few final words.
"He...taught me...the way...to...win...your...heart."
With those final words, the transformation was complete. The beautiful woman that had held such a powerful sway over Avid knelt down and picked him up. She seemed almost sad as she cupped her hands around him. His thoughts slowly faded from his consciousness, but just before they left him, he saw a flash of silver pass by. In it was the reflection of a beautiful woman carefully carrying a small orange frog.

Pretty much this. We'd all prefer everyone says nice things all the time, but especially on the internet you're probably not going to get that. In any case doing the research and providing the math will at least show people proof that what you're saying is correct. If it is not correct, then people can immdiately find the flaw in your argument and correct it.

We have to decide on the definition of gamer, as Nimerah pointed out, first. If you include games like farmville, or angry birds on an iphone and consequently name anyone that plays those games as a "gamer" then you are going to skew the study. My mother plays Pacman every so often, but she is hardly (and likely will never be) a gamer in the sense that many people on this site define it as.
So, because of the subjective nature of the word, we cannot take the study you linked at face value. The difference between a very casual farmville player, and the guy that spends man hours a day raiding on an mmo, playing call of duty, or playing a vast number of other very popular big budget games is vast. Marketing strategies for these games are nearly always aimed at men.
As much as I hate anecdotal evidence, during my years of playing MMOs I would meet the occasional woman. In the guilds thats i've been in I could say it was maybe 1 in 10 or 15. I got my wife into the genre and she enjoyed it (healing and eventually tanking), but again if the numbers you mentioned (~53% of gamers are female) are true, then I would expect to find that in the games I play. Obviously that is not the case in the classic mmos (again i'll exclude farmville and other browser based games).
Perhaps what you were trying to say was that there are more females involved in *some* type of gaming overall than males. If it is, then awesome...but until you specifically define the term "gamer" that statistic doesn't mean you'll find anywhere close to this in a game like Diablo 3.

Bola shot for aoe packs as they come along as well as cluster arrow to supplement the dmg.
The rest of the skills are going to focus on taking down single more difficult champions. I didn't go with vault because the focus should be on positioning instead of wasting a skill to escape because you weren't paying attention. Caltrops with crit (critrops?) starts the dmg stacking, marked for death adds more. To further power up the dmg, using frost arrow and kiting enemies onto the caltrops will apply the snare bonus for cull the weak. Passives simply stack dmg bonuses and increase crit chance.
Impale is the signature attack as it will utilize high increased dmg and excellent crit multipliers to quickly take down single enemies
The biggest detriment to the build is its lack of strong passive defenses. Player skill with snared enemies will be the only real defensive strategy when engaging difficult champions throughout the game.

Gear>level, I think you hit the nail on the head. For everyone just starting out when the game finally releases will absolutely not have gear and will not be able to do what the person in the video did. The only case I can see where this could occur would be via he RMAH. Even in this case, however, if a person buys a ton of gear to twink themselves out and easily beat the first portion of the game, they would only be trivializing a small portion of the game. For the vast majority of people playing this game, it will be a non-issue.

Oblivion: Beating the game at level 2, with corresponding speed challenges.
Skyrim: Developer speed challenge finished the main story in 2.5 hours, so who knows what players will do.
Diablo 2: Hardcore naked characters finishing Hell Baal.
FF1: Beating the game with a single white mage.
Tecmo Super Bowl: Going 16-0 and winning the Super Bowl with the Patriots (or other similarly bad team) Only threw this in because I love the game.
I'd like to see a collection of supposedly tough "bosses" that players found ways to beat at absurdly low levels.
Overall, the article brings up some interesting speculation, but because we're in still in beta (and because the game likely won't be released before the end of the decade) I don't think we can accurately judge the final product's difficulty.
