I literally loled with the title XDD
No the first line of my post says that i wasn't planning to right the wrongs in this topic cause i don't feel like it.
So i just said a couple of things on topic
Still starcraft 2 and over 200 fps
What testing methodology did you use? Run the game in 1vs1 for 5 secs while having a CC and 5 scvs on screen?
    We agree on the rest

Dude, he's just excited about getting a new computer, give him a break.

Hey, everyone let's pull him down on a web forum. I never understood the gratification in that?

No. Expect to shell out at least $600 for a laptop to run games well. Don't waste money buying a "gaming" laptop unless you're in need of a desktop replacement as you travel for your work. And even then, for heaven's sake avoid vendors like Alienware.

I don't have a desktop, I only have an old laptop. I've been abroad for almost 4 years in various countries, so it's no feasible to have a good desktop. I want a laptop that will fulfil all my needs, including high end gaming, I want to invest my money in something that will last me at least a long time without having to upgrade. I have around £1500 to spend ($2000+) so I want something good. What would you recommend if you had that to spend on a laptop?

do not. i repeat. do NOT buy a pre-built computer!!!!

as you can see i spent $1,000 on my awesome set up right? im getting 200+ FPS on extreme graphics settings in SC2 with it. and i found a pre-built with around my same computer specs and it cost $2,600. so your literally paying over 2.5 times the amount for a pre-built then custom building it. you could do a few hours of research or heck even i could help you build an amazing gaming computer for around as much as i paid VS. you paying $2,000+ for the same thing. newegg.com will save you thousands. seriously.

if your interested (which i really hope you are for your wallets sake :P) send me a private message with what your budget is and what kind of set up your wanting. :)

I appretiate the offer, and excuse my ignorance, but is it possible to build a gaming laptop easily? I live in Japan at the moment so it's out of the question to not buy something portable. I know of other gaming laptops, but this one seems to fill all the criteria for me, even though I'm aware I'm going to have to pay a premium.

    you grossly overestimate blizzard!
"It" refers to their miniature diablo toy going on sale. no release date, not even a wallpaper.

I have a tendancy to overestimate Blizzard's supprises, when will I learn?

What could 'it' be? I don't think they would refer to a wallpaper as 'it' which is the usual bonus. 'it' implies something bigger, like for example, A RELEASE DATE. I don't really think so, but I do hope, it would be a nice start to the new year.

I'm waiting for a release date before I upgrade. I was looking into getting an Alienware 17x R3/4. The problem with pc's is that you can always wait a little and get a better model. The R4 being a prime example.

I believe the Ivy Bridge processor will be released soon? Any of you guys keep up to date on that kind of stuff? Have any of you any idea when The 17x R4 will be released? I kind of hope D3 and the R4 will be released around the same time.

I was under the impression that D3 hirelings acted in a sense as an AI controlled second player as opposed to a AI controlled semi-helper. That may not make sense, but what I mean is that the hireling is supposed to act as if you are playing a somewhat multiplayer game, but with an AI controlled secondary player instead of a human controlled player.

With this logic, the hireling should mimic playing with another human to some extent. Sharing exp as you would with a human co-operative player. This may be wrong, but I thought Blizzard were really trying to beef up the hireling to something with more character and impact than D2.

This is great for me as I prefer the pacing of playing solo, you tend to find in multiplayer everyone is rushing around rather than enjoying the atmosphere of the game. However, it's impossible to deny the increased killing power of the human controlled player. The beefed up hireling will give me that extra help that a D2 hireling did not, I hope.
