I would prefer a new game, D4. This game is getting old. The graphics and some game concepts could use some serious overhaul. We'll probably have to wait a while though.

Heliphas posted a message on D4 or new classes?Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionI would rather see in the very least, an expansion, with possibility of D4.
New classes are fun but quite frankly, they feel simply like a band aid.
Repeating rift after rift gets boring, even with new classes.

Green posted a message on Challenge Rifts - A missed opportunity or an unfinished modePosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionIn my opinion devs tried to put in the game players idea about fixed rifts and they failed at it.
Biggest problem of challenge rifts is that they are totally disconnected from your char. In the game that is all about character progression and item grind we got a mode where we don't use our beloved char ... what ?
This could be a really nice addition if they would snapshot some rift once a week, then make weekly leaderboards and allow people to compete for those weekly rifts but with their own chars. That would remove grift fishing and would introduce creative ways of playing our current toons to squezze maximum of those static rifts.

As I see it, paragon is where it went off the rails. Oh I understand why and considering the state of the game before paragon it wasnt a particuar bad move. But it is all the game ever is now, buffing sets/builds pushes the GR, but it is still very much a paragon game. The free set, killed most of the T levels aswell as what little use blues and yellows had left (were never a real factor like in D2), it would be better now if lvl 70 blues and yellows just dropped as materials. And as the builds are super item depended, hearing that legendary sound, isnt all that trilling, you skim the item type and might not even bother picking it up, especially if you are pushing GR.
Oh and dont get me started on the Ancient+ drops... by the time Diablo 4 is on the horizon, we will have items of the Ancient-Primal-Super-Monkey-Power-Ultra, which is a super lazy way of doing it.
I miss the excitement of every item that drops. Not too long ago, I went through D1(HD) and D2 (modded) and I enjoyed it immensely and I just wish I could have that feeling with Diablo 3's mechanics and grafics. -

Garfunkel posted a message on What's happening?Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionI've been out of D3 for ~ 3 weeks now I decided to play 95+ fast with my monk sup and nobody wants cos now meta is 3 necros + barb sup. Wtf? Where is diversity in classes. We used to have at least 4 classes for 95 now just 2... too bad. I'm really starting to hate necros there are too many of them - in public games in my friend list )) It is the worst meta ever imho.

xlxShadyxlx posted a message on Why Host Diablo 3Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionClosing the rift is the smart thing to do. Lets you farm blood shards and GR tokens faster. Doing the extra floors after you kill the guardian is the same as starting a new rift, except with no more guardian to kill.

NoK posted a message on Endgame is boring HC isn't a challengePosted in: Hardcore DiscussionAncient everything BIS gear rank 30 on the ladder with plenty of time to keep pushing If i felt up for it, only playing a few hours each day, never died on hardcore, did all the journeys.. what else is there?
The challenge rifts are okay but not that interesting.
Im bored with this game again quickly after not playing the last 3 seasons.. anyone need a rush or want some gear? I think its time to go back to diablo 2 or divinity orginal sin again -

indignation posted a message on Useless stuff all over the place.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussionwhat all of you need to understand is that in a Level based game, where power increases with level, all gear is useless. Gear with worse stats and lower DPS than another item will always perform better than that item given enough Paragon experience. Paragon is the only thing that ever gives strength indefinitely, all items have a cap and limit.
D3 died many years ago after many bots and paragon exploits due to this problem

Anyone who says THud doesn't give an advantage, doesn't really know how to use THud. There is a reason every serious player uses it. The ability to shave time off a rift when the whole goal is to do the hardest rift by a time limit pretty much tells you why every top player uses it.

Give me D4. I want an entirely new game, and something other than Rifts, rifts, and more rifts in a game.

I kind of hope they don't raise Torment levels, so pub T13 queues actually have more contributors and less leechers.

Massive Damage in D2 was maybe 50K. I have no idea why you need Trillions of damage in a game. You might wear something you got at level 20 for 50 levels if you played Solo Self found.

You really wonder if there just isn't a QA department, or if they are completely incompetent, and also if designers are unable to use a spreadsheet to model this stuff. They spend so much time adding new items with new features, and some of those items have no prayer of making any real impact to gameplay because the damage is sometimes order of magnitudes lower than meta damages. They are just wasting their time coming up with some of those items in the first place.

I don't think there is any question they should reduce the gap between xp and items gained in group vs playing solo. Forcing people into pugs pretty much seems to have the effect of pushing people out of the game once their RL friends leave.
Or, they could do what PoE did this league. Make a completely separate ladder for characters that have spent 100% of the time Solo, self found.
1
It's pretty much what PoE did this league. They made a "Solo Self Found" league, both hardcore and softcore, with separate ladders for the SSF and the non-SSF players. Solo players can't group or trade, but have separate competitive ladders.
You can always quit the SSF league with a character, and move to the equivalent normal league if you get tired of playing totally solo.
I thought it was a great idea, and a lot of people seem to enjoy it.

Always funny to watch a stream and someone say "there's 2 percent here" or whatever.

I'd love Lost Ark to be a hugely successful new game, but my guess is it will be another overhyped Korean bomb.

I think a lot of folks realize that Blizzard doesn't want to talk about changes because Blizzard doesn't want to focus on new D3 content. I think they are much more interested in their other projects, that have ongoing revenue streams, or maybe even D4 which won't be around for years and years. It's tough to keep ongoing communication when your real message is "We really aren't doing much and D3 isn't really a top priority for us".
Luckily for me that PoE keeps cranking out lots of new content every league with less than a hundred employees, and they are pretty much the defacto leader in the ARPG genre these days.
