posted a message on Almost everyone and his grandmother is Using TurboHUD

Anyone who says THud doesn't give an advantage, doesn't really know how to use THud. There is a reason every serious player uses it. The ability to shave time off a rift when the whole goal is to do the hardest rift by a time limit pretty much tells you why every top player uses it.

posted a message on D4 or new classes?

Give me D4. I want an entirely new game, and something other than Rifts, rifts, and more rifts in a game.

The results from the poll are all 60/40 distributed, which means that combined would make at least 80% of the people play more if the mode is improved with all suggested options. However most people don't believe such thing will happen and consider the CRifts a missed opportunity. Maybe we will learn more at Blizzcon about that, let's see what info the invited streamers bring to us.

I doubt 80% would play more considering the only thing that had more than 50% saying they would play more is "more rewards". All the other changes probably wouldn't motivate 20% additional players over the 60% you'd get just by upping the rewards. I suspect there is a strong correlation among No votes and among yes votes on the other conditions.

Personally, I'm completely unsurprised that CRs weren't very popular and was predicting they wouldn't be successful the moment they were announced. The heart and soul of an ARPG is finding loot, and CRs take away the whole loot find aspect. The notion that people play ARPGs for competition seems kind of weird to me, when I compete, I'd much rather play a MOBA or shooter or something head to head. If they want competition, they should put in a PvP mode, not challenge rifts.

posted a message on Daily - Clan Quests!!

I'm not a fan of "forced grouping" for more xp, mats, items, etc. I don't think it is really all that successful in player retention or a better clan environment.

People should join clans because they enjoy playing with their clanmates, not because they are bribed into doing it.

    I agree.
Also they should consolidate the difficulty levels.
I don't think 17 levels of difficulty is really needed.
While I think there is a point to consolidating Public Torments, I think the number of levels of difficulty is fine for Hardcore players and soloers. The only issue seems to be with the number of public queues available.
Although, to be honest, it seems like people have figured it out, A lot of Torment difficulties currently have zero players anyway when I look at queues.

It's gonna be fun to speed run the season journey in season12. I imagine if the season starts on a Friday, we'll see a post on Saturday somewhere with someone stating they are done with the season journey.

Yea with so many viable build upcoming for season 12.

UE DH for me this season it will rock, did a solo 85 in 4:30 min on PTR HC
Yep, most of those old T10 viable speedrunning builds that kind of ran out of power for T13 will be back to T13 speed running shape. Most of those Sage builds that were maybe T10 or T11 viable but ran out of steam will be T13 viable. You're going to be swimming in gear so early in the process. As soon as one of the legendaries drops that doubles the damage, it will be another free Torment's worth of loot and xp, and even if it is a sub 70 drop, it can be destined for cubing.
I kind of hope they don't raise Torment levels, so pub T13 queues actually have more contributors and less leechers.

So between the Buffs to sets and gear, and the objectives staying the same, how many people will be done with the season journey in less than a day?

The noob is the one who wants to keep farming the rift after the RG is dead. The only reason for running rifts is riftstones and DB, and you can get as many DBs in a new rift.

You just answered your own question!

The whole point of Diablo is finding better/stronger gear, why would you want to wear the same gear you were wearing at level 20?

Yet you could get a perfectly rolled Ancient at Paragon 1, GR 1, so, I don't get your point at all.

I suspect balancing would be a lot easier if all of these items and skills didn't "add 10000% damage to the <xyz condition>"

Did D2 have this level of power creep?

Massive Damage in D2 was maybe 50K. I have no idea why you need Trillions of damage in a game. You might wear something you got at level 20 for 50 levels if you played Solo Self found.

and STILL ITS NOT ENOUGH. even if you have all those items, grasp of the dead will not do any noticible damage to a monster from GR 30 or higher. it cant kill anything at all.

see, thats why i say graps of the dead were aimed to be part of the existing meta but it isnt. this is clearly result of a terrible design.

You really wonder if there just isn't a QA department, or if they are completely incompetent, and also if designers are unable to use a spreadsheet to model this stuff. They spend so much time adding new items with new features, and some of those items have no prayer of making any real impact to gameplay because the damage is sometimes order of magnitudes lower than meta damages. They are just wasting their time coming up with some of those items in the first place.

PoE will never ... will never have neither a 1/10th of active players in any given period of D3,

PoE already has more active players, and more Twitch viewership, but keep believing D3 has an active playerbase despite having so few people in the community channels and in the public game queues. D3 now is a dead game 1 week after the start of every new season.

I get the idea about the problem; however, I think your solution isn't the best way. If you're having trouble finding people to play with that are good, maybe you need to find a good community. It isn't hard to check someone's character before joining a group with them *GRANTED- that does take time when8 people want to group and only 3 of them are worthwhile or have legit geared characters and paragon*. I thought this would turn into a "Here's my battlenet account name- I play at these times and these are the characters I main- and here are the build(s) I have (zdps/dps/etc)."

Just my thought- I never was a big group player but in games where I needed it, reaching out on websites/communities like this helped. (Rhykker or Shinobi communities used to be good... I think rhykker is one of the main ones that still plays...and I'm unsure if deadset has a community).

I know a lot of folks who will either play with RL friends or solo. They really don't want to go through communities and clans even if you and Blizzard want to force people to play that way.
