Chris i just have to say WOW, such a wonderfull collection, i would never had courage to just pack and go travel around the world :) Are you alone or do you travel with someone?

ps: to all fat haters - be glad someone want to share these wonderfull pictures from places youll never visit because you only sit behind pc and whine and hate about everything...

Not a hater and actually in olympic shape, but I have no idea why travelling would need courage? I was forced to travel when I was kid and I really hope that I dont have to leave my country never again. I have all the things I need right here. Friends, hobbies, pc, family and so on. Do not assume that everyone here wants to travel. Cool pictures though. I have seen words and fought monsters that I never ever can find from our planet, many thanks Blizzard :D

I think there are already scifi games that approach this territory (Doom, etc), and it's weird to mix genres like this. The only thing that really changes is the setting and technology, so it seems like you just don't like the medieval setting, which is kind of integral to the game concept.

Actually, I cant think any scifi loot based isometric AAA level game. Borderlands milieu and style are different, though loot system is similar. Sure there are scifi games out there, but so there are fantasy games too. I mean why make Diablo 4 at all because I am sure we get soon new Elders Scroll or witcher game.
What comes to fantasy games. Well.. my all time top 5 games are:
    Diablo 2
    Baldurs Gate 2
    Fallout 2
    Vanilla WoW
Not sure about the fifth one, but Diablo 3 is on my for sure top-10.

I just think it would be nice concept to see Diablo lore, style and characters in milieu that is not so familiar to us all. But all the new and formula breaking is frightening to people. And never say that I dislike Diablos we have now, because I have spend some 2000 hours in Diablo 3 and still enjoying it. Diablo 2 was my only gate that I played from 2000 to 2006, so the hours there must be quite insane.

Long time I have been thinking how world of Sanctuary would look and how it would have evolved if the next Diablo franchise game would set in far future? You could still have this gothic atmosphere just placed in far future with horror theme, so the change would not be so drastic.

Could it work if we had a new expansion, some sort of "spin-off" if nothing else that is set to futuristic time period? Something like: some thousand years after events of D3 people of Sanctuary have evolved and reached the stars. Big scifi themed cities, space stations, colonization of other planets and so on. Something like..

People of Sanctuary have forget the events of Diablo games and science has triumph the old beliefs and old ways of men. Below this giant, hi-tec city of Tristram, an ancient evil slumbers and is worshiped by some old cult, hoping to raise Diablo from its eternal slumber.
Sanctuary would be a hard govermented world with its own issues such as poverty and greed of mega corporations. This dark atmosphere would fuel the return of the prime evils.

Story would once again be told through different acts, for example you start from a big space station (Act1), and when there shit hits the fan, you crash land into some alien world (Act2). After your struggle there with the local fauna, you are rescued and shipped back to Tristram (Act3), now in state of full blown anarchy.
You have alot of different ways to go with these setups unknow alien threats, secret goverment experimentals, secret societys, feuds between the people who suffers under the rules of this dystopia and the ones who govern it all. And so on.
These are just some rough examples what the story could look like.

Gameplay would be similar to the old games, but with classes more focused to use of advance technology. Of course there would still be melee classes and melee oriented builds and characters and magic users but little bit of updated. Magic users would now be somesort of telepathic/enhanced people, who are using their skills through science. Melee characters could be some sort of battle hardened soldiers with cybergenetic limbs and other "improvements". Maybe even remnants of that same old Barbarian tribe who now serve as a guns for hire or other similar type of space mercenaries.

Classes could be something like the following:

    Soldier/mercenary (Ranged/Melee)
Neuromancer/hacker (summoner/ controlling minds and all AI objects)
    Android ninja (melee)
    PSI-gifted (ranged, caster)

I just wonder what it could be if Blizzard came and made similar Diablo style loot game of horror arpg set in far future - scifi horror with loot! Legendary Pulse rifles for everyone! and nanoblades! Heck, maybe mechs to ride.

World setting should reflect the culture and complex nature of Sanctuary, so the world would be quite different than lets say, world of Deus Ex, which mimics our own world years into the future.

Hello all long time Diablo hardcore veteran here. I took year break from the game and planning to start again when Season 4 starts. I am starting season 4 HC character when the season starts and I am looking for some game company, I think that these games are best when experienced with others!

I am currently clanless but willing to join an active one if possible, I only play one game at a time so I will be playing D3 Season 4 a lot, but also I don't mind to play with others outside clan play too. I am on EU region, so I will be rolling Barbarian or Crusader there. If anyone here is looking some company or have a guild spot open, leave me a message, thanks. :) I am over 30- year old guy from Finland if that turns anyone really on! :D

as funny as you may think it be, it's because PC gaming is going the way of the dinosaur and those of us who are left buy everything digitally. I can guarantee you the console version of RoS will have a midnight release while the pc version won't even be mentioned. P.S. I work at gamestop, if that aids my credibility at all And that just proves that the world is full of retards. I would rather shoot my head off with a shotgun than playing simplified console games.. I still trust that real gamers beat lazy "party gamers" in the end.

I really hope that Blizzard does something about the trading. Taking it all away is not the best solution by far.

It is our responsibility now, as players, to make plenty of noise in the most constructive, intelligent fashion as possible. We must inform Blizz that we see this as a subtraction, not an addition.

    Two facts cannot be argued;
    1) Their proposal severely limits player choice, freedom and control over their gaming experience.
    2) They went from one extreme to another, ignoring any middle ground. Extremes are akin to pigeon holing.

Another serious concern with me is that this signals that Rares (Yellows) will not be capable of rolling as BiS. Their Legendaries are even more skewed than Rune Words....overpowered and likely to make ignoring rare drops as easy as ignoring Blues and Whites.

Well said. It cant be so black and white. I understand that botting third party sites etc inflation etc is not the way to go. But neither is the removal of all the trading. If you remove trading it cuts the years away from the game, trading is part of the game core that keeps the gaming going. Blizzard is really fooling themselves if they think I am kept interested with smashing monsters 24/7 and thats it.

I really hope that the devs see this suggestion. It would give players reason to enjoy even if they get a drop that they dont like. It would also add so much to your guild play. trading account binded items for account binded items, one item for another. No values counted.

Did you post at Bnet forums about this?

If not, do it. If so, link to it here and ask everyone to 'Like' it. Really the only way to get attention is when the thread goes popular, what with all the screaming and bullshit that goes on over there. Dfans is a terrific resource for the players. I've used this website before to link to a thread @ Bnet and it got attention by Blues.

Yes, I did post it also to Diablo official site. Here is the link. http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/8626013187

"think he is saying trade acount bound for acount b item "

Exacly. You would have a list of items you can ask for return. Like skenario here; I found accound bound Grandfather, I already have that sword so I go to this place, similar to old AH and put it on trade. I can just leave the item there and ask one item from the list in return. Like if someone has a account bound items such as storm, shako, windforce that they want to get rid of and might need Grandfather. That way theres no actually any "value" between different high end items its just fair trade sword for bow for example. And because they are account bound it would be harder to sell it on e bay because trading items would always need to have that 2 item transaction .

I really hope that Blizzard does something about the trading. Taking it all away is not the best solution by far.

    Hi

I think that the trading is a big part of Diablo games but the same time I see the problems it brings to the game. Trading should be only possible inside the diablo program and not in internet sites like a d2jsp and such.

If theres no trading at all it creates also some problems. For instance if you dont play all classes and find something you cant use it can be annoying. Also you need to build your character from your drops so you cant try anything special that requires some certain item.. that sucks big time.
Game without anykind trading can also be boring.

Could they make system similar to the AH we had but one that only works for account bound items trade?

When you find a great legendary it would always be binded to your account and you could not give it or trade it in game with others,.BUT you could list it to the external trading house and asks other items from list as a return. You could not trade the item for gold, money or give it for free.

This could us allow to trade items but it would limit the third party sites because the trading would only work in this inside build program.

In the beta it was true diablo fans (I never got a key :( ) and now that its a widely played game, people dont understand what actually putting hard working into a game is anymore. now 100 hrs they should have everything the game has to offer. Apparently most of them have never played blizzard games before...

This. Problem is that mainstream players are 10-15 year olds.. Generation that wants all and they want it NOW..
I have read so many D3 post where a "player" whines why he does not have all the best loot already. Some people even laughed at me when I said that I have planned to play this game the next 5-10 years..
