It does make sense that they may indeed remove gf/mf with the new (improved) drop rates. But if there is no cap and you max out the categories you can put points into (no idea how difficult that would be) what is the point of having no cap then? Just idle curiosity while at work.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Hi, wasn't really sure about this. Maybe I read it and just glossed over it. With new paragon levels coming, we're allowed to turn those levels into points and allocate them across all our characters. Do we continue to get gold/magic find as a freebie or must those too be allocated? Just wondering how the no cap on paragon is going to work since from screencaps there seem to be caps on the categories we can pour paragon points into. Just looking to clear it up for myself. Thanks!Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Wow, there were some insanely nice entries. Such a huge fan of seeing talent in areas like this, and this contest had no lack of amazing work. Also helps push myself to be a better artist. Had a lot of fun doing this!

...Here's my Wizard channeling Ray of Frost through an axe in honor of the many hours I played my little axe wielding Wizard in beta...
This is one of my favorites in the contest so far. Great job!

Cheers Temesz. Never tried Diablo art...... Mainly because I find it hard to use colours and, I feel that fantasy art always looks better with colour. Some blue lightning, red blood, green fog... etc.
And if you're not using colors because you're finding it too hard, well then the best way to start making it easier is to start using color! Are you going to make some really, really bad color decisions along the way? Probably. I sure do. But its a great way to learn what works and what doesn't.

Finally, a clear interpretation of the THEME. I think most of the submissions are just portraits with weird awkward poses that have nothing to do with "Heroes rise, darkness falls."
Well, thank you! Although I think there are some fantastic submissions so far that capture the theme pretty well so far and as the deadline approaches, I'm sure we're going to see some that are really jaw-dropping. That's one of the reasons I LOVE seeing contests like this.
One of the entries that I'm assuming (hoping) will be finished is this little gem.

I really like the drawing, but the only weird thing that i cant look away from is that hes now sitting down with a 2h sword.
That sword, with a hilt that size hed have to have that hilt above his head (unless he has very, very large feet!) Seems like the sword is now piercing the ground somewhere.
Haha. Dammit! I could only shake my head and laugh at this one. Nice catch. Fix and tweak color? Check. Tighten up details? Check. Be completely oblivious to Grandfather Sword's length when I added legs to barbarian? Check!
