Glavenized ward is useless in inferno when you have 40k hps...change it for something elsePosted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories

I spent a lot as well, however it was mainly get resistances and hps up to make fa not be a complete piece of shit spell (it still is, but not as much).Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
So i sit with 400 resists, 38k life, 25k damage (with buff), and 21% crit. I can take a hit, but not by much. Basically it boils down to wizards shit needs to scale with hp/armor/resists - such as diamond skin. Otherwise they are just going to be garbage in inferno; as end game gear scales the worst with wizards and best with monks/barbs.

I dont know, not to be a negative nancy here or anything; but I think i might be retiring my wizard here for a while until something better than doing a perfect 20 minute kite against a champion pack with perfect modifiers gets a little better.
To play what exactly instead?
A barb / monk.
At least with those classes, you can actually see your gear make a difference. If i took a equally geared barb as my wizard is, i'd be able to do act 2 at least and take a few hits. As of now it's pretty much 2 shot deaths irregardless of what i do.

Just some food for thought here. Even with 800 resists and 7k armor (72% and 69% respectively),you will take 10-25k hits from mobs (factoring in mobs hit for 100k-280k in inferno solo). Mind you, achieving those types of resists is pretty hard, if you want to have any damage left at all. If you are using a sheild with a 20% block, at best, you are still taking a 6-21k hit -- which you could be hit by multiples obviously as well. Say you do manage to have 50k hps. That's only a few hits and your dead; without regen 500+ most times mobs (especially champions) will wear you down. FUrthermore, once you do get a healthglobe, it's proably not going to heal you for very much (1/4 of your life, maybe?).Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories

I dont mind kiting, but spending all that time doing so only to die and have health reset / get vortexed and jailed over and over isn't really appealing to me.

This. Kiting some retarded ass champion pack around for 20 minutes only to be one shotted and have their health reset fucking sucks.

Says the guy who has never made it to inferno. Try soloing act 3/4 then talk. This is the issue with all "you" people. You see someone post a video or a build that works well with a very specific type of gear, then instantly think it's overpowered as shit, not knowing anything about it. You chug along in nightmare and hell, thinking that your current kiting spec is going to get you through the entire game.
I watched a barb solo act 3 of inferno last night fighitng 10-20 mobs at once, with champion packs mixed in. Even in my current gear, which is pretty good, i can't kite very many champion packs. They have to have some stupid easy modifiers or you literally just have to run around them. Kiting something for 20 minutes straight only to get one shot by them and half their health reset doesnt make the game "fun" for me.

Appreciate the guide, but act 2 on you wont be doing much...hell apart from some random mini bosses wizards can't really do shit in inferno.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
I have 38k health, 400-425 resists, 4k armor, 28k damage-- while using FA I still can get assraped in literally a second. Unless the champion pack has some completely stupid easy modifiers, it's gg.
