I just got him down and wanted to throw a post up ! Wanted to get him before 1.0.3 speed nerf and until inferno difficulty changed so, yay! I found the thing that did it for me was first rotating blind and serenity when fighting shadow clone ( to watch out for the stupid bell) and then just watching diablo to make sure you never miss interrupting his fire ball ( cause that hurts !). Dont look at your HP or your buffs , you know when you low or your mantra is down. Just watch him and never miss a beat.
I also figured out that resolve > seize the initiative. ( 25 % greated then my 1400 dex to armor which is 10 %)

3.8k armor ( I was at 5.2k with seize the initiative but resolve is better cause 1300 armor is only 10% reduction)

I used a 900dps dagger with 1.89 aps and 300 life on hit socket ( 1.25 mill on AH , a steal ) and a shield
The most i spent on my gear pieces was 1.25mill for dagger and rest was 800k or less.
I skipped some champions packs to get to him cause i was excited, I just ran thru the spire level 2 after izzy haha but i could handle about 60% of the special packs, For special packs i used this build.
Talking about Belial, i found it VERY easy once you know his attack pattern ( of phase 3 of course) and used FoT Thunderclap. I just sat on the edge of the circle , waited for him to pick a move , teleport in with thunder clap , hit 3 times , then go back to the edge. It was so easy when i started doing that.
I just killed belila and i can tell you a couple things. You need more damage i am in act 2 and I am dual wielding and have 20k dps. You do not need 9000 armor that is over kill. At most with a sheild I'd go 7k, i only have 5k, and anything more then 600 resist is waste of stats. stats. Your Hp does not need to be any higher then 40k ever because you heals become nerfed after that. You gotta change your build so you have some cc , heals , aoe and single target dmg. i used conviction aura all throughout act 2 . gotta kill stuff before it kills you. You cant tank everything.
I',m soloing act 2 inferno right now , just about to be on belial. I like it , its tough but i can get 90 % of champion packs, i havent bought any items over 300 k from the AH and I am dual wielding , barely kiting , in your face bad ass monk. Its fun to find a build or way of playing that doesnt feel cheesy and that you can actually do it. You ask why i take my time and fight on through it ? Cause its hard and it feels like you accomplished something rather then going the " considered easy route" or playing a range class. Also its fun...
anyone else having trouble to download the patch? I open D3, it says ''game is up to date'' but when I log-in it says ''a now update has been found press ok to download it'' i Press okay the game closes and I get an error saying ''the application has ceased to work properly'' I have disable the firewall and the antivirus, to no avail
In Hell act one , level 52. Going good so far but had to change my build a lot. You take a lot more damage then in NM so I go for all defensive spirit spenders and 3 spirit generators for dps. Works very well I can put out a lot of damage by rotating my spirit spenders and then spamming the heal whenever its up for heal and more dmg , then spamming Mantra to get extra shield while fighting and then serenity to save me or my partner.

When duel wielding u attack one time with each weapon. First the the mainhand then with your offhand and so on. And the skill will do dmg equal to 100% of the weapon dmg of the weapon which are used. So first atack will do 10dmg, next will do 5 dmg and next will do 10dmg again and so on.
But what about other skills that arn't based on attack animations like lashing tail kick or cyclone strike?
So if you are duel wielding two weapons, say 5 dps in one had and 10 in the other. When a skill says 100 % weapon dmg what does it mean? Does it take your highest damage weapon? Or does it sum them both together?
The installer will be unlocked on the 14th at 8 or 10pm PDT iirc, so if you download it on the 15th it will be installed, patched and ready to play once you validate the game on Battle.net. It's 8gig, to save 15min.
So if I get the physical copy of D3 from a retailer like best buy or w/e , can i still pre-download the client before hand or do I wait until i have my actual copy?
I just dont think you have enough survivability. Your only sustain / defensive move is breath of heaven which has a 15 sec cool down. When you hit late hell or inferno and you take a big chunk of hp, you bust that out and you are fine but then you are completely screwed for the next 15 secs and it seems like shit is gotta it HARD and FAST in inferno
