posted a message on Release date announcement tomorrow? predicted 6months ago!
It'd be hilarious if they announced the release date (or beta date) for Mists of Pandaria instead.

In a cosmic kind of way.

Relieved sigh. From the title, I thought you were going to complain about the lack of release.

    posted a message on F.lux
Note: I'm putting this in the tools section because it can help with Diablo, or computers in general. It may belong in the off-topic board, though.

I found this neat little program "F.lux" yesterday and have been using it since. For the past few days, I've worked on www.freelancer.com, giving me plenty of exposure to my laptop's screen. As a lot of you have found, extended sessions at a computer (or TV) can cause strain on the eyes and headaches.

F.lux is a small program that looks at your time zone and tints your screen an orange/peach color in an attempt to reduce and remove the effects on your eyes. The colors are a lot softer, and though the orange can be strange at first, a few hours will get you used to it.

By default, the program tints your screen as the sun sets in your time zone, to create the softer light that your eyes are used to from evolution/creation/whatever. At night, your computer screen has a lot more light than you should get and F.lux dampens that a lot.

So far the program is working great (I have it set to all tinted, all the time) and I'm only feeling is a little tired (probably because the soft light I've had all day...may need to change the options).

Now all I can imagine is the Witch Doctor coughing up a locust or two while the other classes watch concernedly.

posted a message on Secret purple gem in lobby?
The chat gem has been known for years...they even have it on the Diablo 3 website. It does nothing in my opinion, but others think it increases chances of gems and gem shrines appearing.

posted a message on your guess on blizzard announcement
I think they'll soon announce this:

"We're sorry to have led you all on for so long, but Diablo 3 does not exist. The ending of Lord of Destruction was meant to be the end, to leave it up to the players to guess the future. But then we saw that there would be a time when we would not be releasing a game or expansion for a few years and we thought that our fans may grow disinterested, so we created a believable 'Diablo 3' far in advance so as to you string you along until we could release Starcraft 2 and the rest of the World of Warcraft expansions and Project Titan.

"We began to notice that our real projects were taking too long so we announced changes to 'Diablo 3' that we knew would be controversial--the removal of certain RPG elements for example--so as to continue our charade while Titan was built. We also released a fake beta for the game to make it more believable. We created numerous online personas in advance, even contracted--and sometimes threatened--people outside of Blizzard to pretend that the beta was real. It is not.

While the announcement and subsequent reveals of 'Diablo 3' were, in fact, fake (super April fools, by the way), we can now confident enough to reveal the first screenshots and story of Project Titan. Prepare yourself for the brand new Sonic the Hedgehog MMO, based on the Archie Comic series."

posted a message on Please explain why SKYRIM is so .. "WOHOO"!
Our gaming lives, apparently unlike yours, don't revolve around a single game. Diablo 3 is an awesome point/click murder machine but Skyrim is a great-looking game that is awesome in it's gameplay and has an open world that's so huge and full of things to do that a person, without the help of the internet, can play for years and still have yet to see everything. There are many classes and a lot of spells, tons of awesome items, and the world is open to you in the first few hours of gameplay. People like freedom as much as they like the relative linear style of Diablo 3.

And for the most part, we aren't going to sit on our butts complaining about the Diablo 3 release date and not doing anything to fill the time.

posted a message on Beta Key Contest #3
Gosukusan, you need to learn a little humility. You've constantly upheld that your entries were the best and should win and that most of the other people entering are unfunny idiots. What one thinks is humorous is their own opinion and who are you to tell them that they are wrong? I don't particularly like the second contest's winning entry, and I'm sure there are others that don't either, but I don't see them demeaning the moderators of this website who are doing their best to appeal to the majority of the people, not just one guy: their priority with this contest is to attract new members to the site who will keep it growing and add their own thoughts to discussions. Why would they cater to you alone just because of your outstanding beliefs that you deserve a key? All I've seen you do is renounce the website--that sure as hell didn't help you, did it?

"Ur a Wizard, Harry..." says Hagrid. Oh, how does that make sense? Why is "Harry" vomiting and what does it have to do with the contest or Diablo? The only way it makes sense is the Wizard being named Harry and the person viewing it hasn't been under a rock for ten years when the series took off. And then you said that your "Harry-Wizard" picture was possibly your most favorite, when it itself is not funny nor epic and doesn't make sense to boot! Your picture where Link bombs the screen with an E-rating is pretty cool, I'll admit, but that doesn't change the fact that it makes no sense and has nothing to do with the picture other than morphing it--there was no caption or reasoning for Link to be there or throw the bomb. Again, it was a cool picture, but had no reason to be there. I'll give it to you that the rules were not explained very well and that would definitely allow for your anger then, but it's been a week and you still haven't shown that your picture could be the fault for your losing--no, to you it was the people or person who chose the winner.

So stop your bitching and deal with it. Leave and give up all chance entirely or stay and enter a picture that makes sense.
