Hey, a question for those of you who have been playing beta...
Do you think we will see AddOns for D3 like we have in WoW? What do you think the chances are there will be a D3 DBM or recount? Do you think Blizzard will allow them? Are there any already out? I'm just curious.
Well, maybe the WD isn't the necro, but there's no denying the similarities. Haunt and Bone Spirit, Sacrifice and Corpse Explosion, an AE confusion spell, AE slow effects, obsession with the undead, and general creepiness to name a few. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Necromancer, I would be thrilled if he came back in an expansion, but Bliz would have to do some MAJOR re-imagination to make it work. My 2 cents.
zombie dogs as an isolated skill maybe isn't so great. but there are other skill/rune combinations that buff and are buffed by zombie dogs. plus you can blow them up and get more. I would say they are definitely worth it, if your other skills and runes are set to match.
From checking out different builds my guess is that a summoning WD will work if you commit to it. In D2 being a summoning necro only worked if you spent all (or nearly all) of your skill points in that tree, and I do believe that will be similar with the WD. If you're trying to divide up your skills into multiple categories (e.g. some in summoning, some in spirit) my guess is that it won't be as effective. If you plan your runes right so that your skills build on each other I think it could be really good. Plus you get the potentially added benefit of being able to get a snack while your pets do all the work. I'd love to try it and see how it works!
I could say all sorts of stuff on this topic. I could tell you about how I have been playing Diablo since day 1. I might share stories about my knack for finding bugs/exploits in any game I play. Perhaps I could cite previous experience in other Beta tests. I could pledge to find all kinds of issues and report them to help Blizzard get the polishing done. Maybe I could convince you that my purposes for wanting to play Beta are entirely selfless, intendting only to help in any way I can...
but the truth is, like most everyone else, I just want to get any competitive edge I can before the game is released.
I am just dying to know if it will be possible to play with my friends across platforms. Meaning, if I buy the Xbox 360 D3 and my friend buys the PC D3, will we be able to play together online? If the answer to this question has not been decided on as of yet, I would like to throw in a suggestion that they provide cross-platform compatibility. Many would rejoice.
