I have read people writing about how their wives or gfs hate Diablo or video games in general. I was in this same situation when I first got married. My wife hated when I would raid in WOW.
So I decided that since I was rewarding myself with Diablo III after a good semester(I would have done it even if it was a bad one lol) I would try to make her have something good too. The whole idea is to equate good experiences and memories with the release in hopes to slowly change her mind on video games.
For the last week I have been doing the spring cleaning that she normally does. I have just been doing an hour or so each night until release as a thanks to her for being cool about me playing and bothering her all the time with my excitement. It doesn't have to be something this big, but some type of positive reinforcement might help. I have been doing this for the past couple game releases and I must say it has been working.
She was happy enough that she volunteered to cook me all of my favorite meals next week, 3 meals a day plus desserts, etc. Here are some of the things she is cooking:
Homemade orange rolls
Slow cooked roast
french toast
homemade pizza (from scratch!)
crepes
a burger run to my favorite burger joint
snickerdoodles
chicken casserole
rice krispie treats
fresh fruit platters
breakfast burritos
the list goes on, but you get the idea. She has gone from a wife who absolutely despised video games of any kind to being someone who appreciates that I have a hobby that I love and even helping me to enjoy it more. I of course support her in her hobbies in return. Now my wife still doesn't like playing video games, but she is not anti-video game for me. Yes I do have an awesome wife:)
Does anyone have any experience good or bad with their gf or spouse? Or just some really good plans for release?
Yeah...The way I'm seeing it is that you can cast as many teleports as you want within the animation limits prior to the cooldown effect taking place. Not that the cooldown effect resets every teleport. So...I'd say a max of 4 or so teleports.
It all depends on when the 1 second timer starts. If it starts as soon as the 1st animation ends, then you could maybe pull off 3 more teleports if you had 3 APS. If the 1 sec timer starts as soon as you push the button, which I would assume it would, then you would nee 3 APS to get off 3 teleports.
Teleport and a 1 sec timer starts.
Teleport again and a new 1 sec timer starts.
Teleport again after that and another 1 sec timer starts.
So in simple terms you can keep teleporting as much as you want until you either stop or run out of AP. Making Wiz the preferred class for farming low level zones and rushing for sure.
I disagree... he said as many times as the animations will let you cast within 1 second.
I agree. There is no way to misconstrue it at this point.
A bunch of mobs attacking at the same time is a weakness obviously. I believe that was covered in 1st couple posts.
If there is a room full of little mobs that run really fast, but don't hit hard, then sure it could be a pitfall of the build. However, you are gloating and pretending the standard build doesn't have weaknesses too. All builds have weaknesses, so you can't dismiss one because you come up with a BS scenario that might not even exist in which the build might be weaker than normal. One small weakness, and its a weak one to boot, is quite good for any build. Those fast light hitting mobs usually have one thing in common, they die in one hit. In fact, since this build can completely ignore defense it has a huge lead in dmg output.
Too bad sentry is a bad joke...
Why does everyone keep bringing this thing up, though I suppose in group play you might not need your disc for anything else. I just hate this skill. if it brought the pain like hyrda then sure, but its kinda pathetic on paper.
The question is not whether a Vulcan nerve pinch would work (Data is made to replicate humans as much as possible so it's possible (although highly unlikely) that it might just work. Doubtful, as he's unlikely to have been replicated to that level.
But when you come down to it, unless he traps Data, using guile and cunning, Data will defeat him. He has greater strength, agility, speed, computational power, knowledge etc.
That isn't doubtful its full blown stupid. The creator intentionally made Data so he would be vulnerable to a vulcan nerve pinch.....WTF?!
His internal components functionality has absolutely nothing to do with mimicking a human.
alright fellow gamers , my brother and i just had a debate on who would win in a battle between data and spock
he thinks spock would win because he could use his finger trick on the shoulder/neck to make data pass out (i believe theres a name for that move but i cant remember) anyways i told him theres no way that would happen to data since data is all machine and doesnt have nerves.
so give me your input on who you think would win, thanks
Also, Spock would be smart enough to not try to fight Data hand to hand.
He would obviously lose....
Will the mobs or bosses have diminishing returns/immunity on stun/slow/fear abilities? Or stunlocking them in inferno with 4 barbarians its totally possible?
JayWilson: Elite mobs (bosses, champions, rares) are affected to a lesser degree by control skills, and are immune to a select few. We do not have a system for diminishing returns, as we want CC to be useful even against bosses.
Props to you D 3 devs for not making this game shit by following the wow raid design.
Or the D2 design where bosses weren't affected at all....
But yah, according to that this idea is solid. It will absolutely dominate trash, which in itself is quite important, even in inferno.
Could potentially even work well against bosses, champions and rares as you are still doing quite a bit of dmg.
None of them, I can think of working tactics for all. I think DH will fall in line with Wizard and Barbarian while WD's and and Monks will be the easymode classes.
You are completely contradicting yourself.
You said "none of them", and then said "I think DH will fall in line with Wizard and Barbarian while WD's and and Monks will be the easymode classes."
If you declare that 2 will be easy mode, then you are obviously predicting the other 3 will have more trouble solo'ing inferno.
Demon Hunter, high heels and a perfect ass. The only class that I'd roll a female rather than a male.
^^ This.
Those saying WD or Barb have bad taste in women LOL.
I agree...
I could maybe understand the WD, because you have that anticipation build up when you take the mask and stuff off. Almost like open a present at Christmas. And the worst case scenario, you could always just put it back on, ya know.
The female barb on the other hand just kind of looks like 40 year old tranny.
Sort of like Arnold Schwarzenegger with a boob job.

How about the wording that clearly states otherwise? You know the very recent info.

Would be interesting development if it did work that way, but it honestly doesn't make sense from a development perspective..

She can make pizza and crepes, but not a burger?!

Even with a wand 3 APS seems to be smoking fast.
I agree. There is no way to misconstrue it at this point.

Cuz I don't.
It also has a pretty good CD on it.
WD lacks AoE slow, its a natural weakness of the class. That's why they get pets to tank for them.
The DH lacks tanking ability. She can't take hits.
We just learned that pets can tank in inferno just fine.
Perfect match imo.
