Look guys, there are some pretty big things that most of you aren't considering when you bash these changes...

    1. Capping MF at 300% is still extremely high.
    2. Paragon is a REWARD for something you are going to do ANYWAY. -_-
    3. The changes to PVE Content, class abilities, and the introduction of Paragon is going to makefarming much easier. So you are essentially trading a MF/GF cap for the ability to kill MORE mobs FASTER. Six of one, half a dozen of the other...

I love these changes BUT MF/GF should affect chests. Chests just don't seem anymore important to me than a damn barrel unless they are bloody or resplendant. Also, I understand why Paragon is character specific (because hitting 99 on a character in D2 was obviously character specific) BUT it whole heartedly discourages creating new characters and trying other classes. Why Would I take time min maxing my stats including mf/gf along with survivability for inferno when I know I could just farm with a different character that already has innate mf/gf?

Seeing as how the Witch Doctor is my favorite class, your argument is already void. Add the fact that you are comparing methods and hierarchy found in D2 with D3, and I'm inclined to think you have no idea what you are talking about lol. The barbarian of D3 is not the barbarian of old. And seeing as how teleporting is almost rendered useless in the way of MF, it all boils down to how hardy your character is. Obviously no one will really know the answer until we get in and play and I have a feeling they will be pretty close anyway, but the barb does have the most +"treasure find" skills of any class, so how could that not give him a bit of a lead??

were not talking about the WD, stay with your own opinion bud. its not how "hardy" a character is, its the classes damage output VS survivability ratio. which the barb has one of the lowest (second to the DH of course). and please dont use the argument that his one passive makes him somehow invincible/superior because if your below 20% life even with far higher dmg reduction you'll still die unless you flee or insta kill whoever is attacking you, and if you look at the guide it shows some mobs in inferno having almost 2m life so GL insta killing them

Yup... you have no idea what you are talking about lol.

You said people weren't thinking because they voted for their favorite class, I voted barb, but my favorite is Witch Doctor, therefore you are wrong...

You are also making farrrr too many assumptions about basically everything, so your point has no factual basis.

Barbarian, hands down, due to the "treasure" find bonuses of certain runes (I believe hammer of the ancients and grim harvest are the two skills which have this).

 hands down? did you not know the barb was the only class in D2 who had the same type of MF skills? and he was also one of the absolute worst MF characters. paladin > sorc > sin > rest dont matter. again just more people not thinking anything through and only picking the class thats their favorite

However, my personal strategy will be to run a WD with my buddy who is rolling a DH at launch. My WD's survivability should allow me to clear content without needing high end gear, and in the process I will have hopefully found plenty of good gear for my MF Barb. Sacrificing the added dmg/utility of the other rune variants for increased MF is going to affect survivability greatly, especially with a pure melee class.

So, I'll be running WD first to find gear for my Barb (which I'll be running as my second toon) to balance out the skill deficit. While the Barb will hands down be the best MF character, I feel he will be even more dependant on gear than before (if you can believe that lol).

You're right. I should stop talking about myself and how my lifestyle is better by comparison. How negatively selfish of me.

    Oh wait... I'm not.

I'm not calling you stupid for liking pizza rolls. I like pizza rolls, too. But to advocate going on an eating binge, eating mega amounts of sugar, sodium, and everything else wrong with today's toxic junk food is flat out stupid.

You are not one of "the rational thinking members involved in this thread" if you condone this. In fact, you are irrational.
This way of thinking about eating is a detriment to humankind.

Edit: this is for you, Monolith:

Here's the deal, no one is saying "ZOMG IZ GONA SHTUFF MA FACE TILL I CANTS BREAVE!!!", like you assume we will lol.

Believe me I get your point, but calling people out for HOW MANY pizza rolls they eat as opposed to eating them at all, is just as arrogant. Again this is not the place to be debating the health of the stereotypical gamer. You need to realize that this stereotypical person you are accusing some of us as being, will do what we want regardless of your diatribes on healthy eating.

Also, while I may dissagree with you vehemently, that pic made lol. :P

I agree; I don't believe you guys are going to smash down the garbage all at once (though it will be in one sitting, har har).
Quantity isn't necessarily the concern, though it's alarming that a few of you think you're going to survive on a few cases of Monster without messing yourselves up.

I'm merely commenting on the fact that what you've listed as what you'll be eating during the first few days of playing D3 is equivalent to eating a bunch of mild poisons.

You've made my point in your second to last sentence, and you're absolutely right about that. Though something can be terribly detrimental for someone, for some reason people think it's socially acceptable, even desirable, to be ignorant and destroy themselves because it has become popular and/or they've bought into such gimmicky marketing (I'm mostly talking about Monsters, though it can apply to a wide range of junk food).

It's totally your right to poison yourself with large amounts of junk food for several days. I just don't understand why people do it [though I understand peer pressure and group dependency (sociology), immaturity and learned helplessness (psychology), and nihilistic epistemologies (philosophy)].

In short: Why don't you care about yourself?

Wow.... in one post you managed to call myself and many others in this thread ignorant, mindless, helpless, and immature...

And how dare you presume that I don't care about myself because my lifestyle is different from yours?? Again, arrogance at its finest.

I hope you are proud of yourself lol, I'm surprised the internet has room for your egomaniacal soap boxing. While I may have the right to poison myself, as you call it, I also have the right to tell you to "shut the hell up you narcissistic asshat..."

On a side note, I'll no longer feed your trolling, feel free to move on. I sincerely hope the door DOES hit you in the ass on the way out.

Who knew there would be such a greater evil than Diablo, Azmodon, or Belial themselves: Malnutrition.
Way to play into the stupid, malnourished stereotype of gamers.

I'm actually really surprised to see others that object to this kind of pathetic lifestyle. There may be hope for mankind after all.
Belial hasn't tricked us all into killing ourselves yet!

Edit: By the way, it's slightly ironic that players will be slaying monsters in the game... while chugging Monsters.

For the love of god (or perhaps the Five Archangels) get off your damn high horse..........

This is a light hearted discussion, not a debate over the health of the average gamer....

And calling those of us stupid for liking pizza rolls is just absurd. On behalf of the rational thinking members involved in this thread, I invite you to pick up your over inflated ego and exit to the right. -_-

Really good music. Killing the hordes of hell will be better to a soundtrack.

The CE has the entire D3 soundtrack :-P.

As for the "eat and drink healthy" crowd, I can appreciate your concerns, but the intent of the topic was was to be fun and entertaining, not boring and preachy lol ;-).

I'm a big fan of Muscle Milk so, I will have a case on hand as per usual lol, probably for the mornings. I like the snack bar ideas.

I'll probably get some peanuts and beef jerky for a decent snack that doesn't make a mess and for a break from the carbohydrate overload that will be the rest of the week haha.

I thought his would be a fun topic for everyone to distract themselves with for a few minutes, instead of counting the seconds until the servers go live lol. I'm having a buddy of mine come over for almost the whole week to go crazy on D3, like we used to in middle school with D2, and I'm looking for ideas on what supplies I should stock up on for a week long frenzy of playing D3.

I'll add to the list as we go, but here is what I'm at right now:

    1. Mini-Fridge
    2. Big Oscilating Fan
    3. Energy Drinks (probably get those health potion ones haha)
    4. All manner of pop.
    5. Pizza Rolls
    6. Chicken Nuggets
    7. Hamburgers
    8. Hotdogs
    9. Beef Jerky
    10. Peanuts
    11. Protein Shakes
    12. Chewy Bars

This is mainly for fun, but I'm taking everything into consideration lol. So feel free to make your suggestions as ridiculous or as ordinary as you like :-).

I actually never played Diablo 1, but i did watch my uncle play it. Diablo 2 came out when i was 12 years old, so by the time I was really into the game and the story, the sequel was released. I've played Diablo 2 for a decade and I still love it a great deal, but my experience in the Beta has officially blown my mind lol. There were always little things that bothered me about D2 and D3 has corrected ALL of the petpeeves I had with D2. I've been in beta since patch 12 and have loved every minute.

I actually planned on going back and playing all the way through D2 in the weeks leading up to D3's release, but I got to Blood Raven and realized..... I just wasn't enjoying it as much as I had in the past. The Beta spoiled me, and I've never been so excited for a game's release. I'm actually taking vacation from May 14th- May 18th and will have 6 straight days of steam rolling through content. CAN'T WAIT!!!
