Daemaro posted a message on Rep Points IdeaWe had a more advanced rep system in the past to +rep and -rep with the reason but it was being abused on a large scale to get positive rep, just trading it with eachother each day, then people got mad at others abusing it and started dumping all their -rep on people everyday, it just ended up with a lot of angry people and no real purpose, and that's how we ended up here.Posted in: Site Feedback -

Gosukusan posted a message on Beta Key ContestThe culmination of over 50 hours in editing (99% of which took place in MS Paint), and several sleepless nights brainstorming ideas. 99% of the pixels inside the "bubble" were hand drawn, pixel by pixel, at max magnification...lol. It is my second submission, and builds upon and greatly improves some of the ideas from my first. I also decided to keep some of the jokes I made up from the first submission in this one, as I really like them. This pic is officially my baby, and will be burned in my head for the rest of my life. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.Posted in: News & Announcements

Rez posted a message on Is her Barbarian stuck in Act II?Posted in: Diablo IIQuote from alodude
I have a 44 sorc. and I'm trying to level with my friend. She's a 17 or 18 Barbarian. In Act II I killed, for her, the monster in the Maggot Layer and Valley of Snakes (altar, not montser) and asked her to pick up the parts of the staff.
For some reason she didn't do what I said (she's not good at video games), and now she only has one part of the staff.
I keep going back in (with her creating a game) and going back to those areas, but the half of the staff she is missing is not dropping for her. Again, she created the game, and I joined.
Is her barbarian stuck in Act II? If she doesn't have both parts of the staff of kings how can she get to the boss?
thanks for your help,
this is my second question in 24 hours
cheers
Make sure the head of the staff necklace is not equipped on her... -

All 3 skills that Inspiring Presence affects. Both Battle Rage and Threatening Shout gives you more drops when socketed with Obsidian runestones. Hammer of the Ancients is there for even more item finding, while Revenge is there to boost the crit chance. Frenzy is just there as a fury generator. It could easily be Bash, but I figure the more you attack the more crits you can have so why not.
So basically what this boils down to is a Magic Find Crit Barbarian with ultra sustain from Inspiring Presence. The only thing that is sacrificed is a movement spell like Leap Attack or Furious Charge but I really don't see that as a big problem. Especially when every single skill in the set works perfectly with each other. I have a feeling that this can easily be a cookie cutter build.
Apart from the relative lack of movement, Frenzy could be switched. Unforgiving isn't particularly necessary either.
Thoughts? Please alert me if I have skipped any glaring flaws.
I dont like it. For one, the text in Inspiring Presence implies that the buff will not stack. It says War Cry OR Battle Rage, not AND. So im betting that having both active will not increase the regeneration to 120% of your health.
Additionally, your choice of rune for War Cry does not seem optimal. If you are going to be using inspiring presence, then an Alabaster rune will increase your health by 50%..which will increase the health you regenerate.
Also, for a build with a farming focus, it has NO AOE. This will slow down your farming potential by quite a bit.
Finally...the build just seems boring to me. You have 3 buffs... your entire gameplay experience will boil down to spamming frenzy and hammer.. with revenge thrown in as it comes up. Which actually brings up another issue. From what ive heard, if you use a different ability while you have frenzy stacks..it resets your stacks. So using abilities like Revenge and Overpower with Frenzy can be counterproductive.
Inspiring presence also doubles the duration of the spells. The health regen doesn't have to stack. I don't really see the point of saying the passive or the skills are bad because it doesn't heal 2% of your health per second. It heals 1%, which is decent.
Ancient Hammer is AOE no?
And whether or not it's boring isn't part of the discussion. The build's about optimality in farming and killing things in general. The Frenzy point is a good point though. What do you suggest I replace it with? -

Its a classic Peanut gimmic where Lucy Van Pelt keeps on tricking Charlie Brown into kicking a field goal, only to pull the ball away at the last minute causing Charlie to go flying in the air.

Yah, damned if you do damned if you dont. Honestly this dead horse has been beated enough, people need to get over it and direct their efforts to something more deserving and fullfilling. I mean its only a BETA Access Competition, if it meant that much to you, you require psycological attention, that or you need to get a F****ing life and try and face your adversities with some dignity and self respect, crying about why you lost that the stipulation of the rules somehow created an unfair advantage for someone who didnt follow them... fuck it... if this upsets you this much perhaps you should just leave the forums.
My two cents.
