posted a message on Item Storage Question
This question is for the Beta folks, and its born out of my fear that I won't have enough inventory space available if I only buy one copy of the game.

In D2 I had to keep 6-7 accounts for playing and for muling SC and HC crap. The way Blizzard choose to implement accounts in D3 its sounding like I cant just create another account for more storage (one that of course wouldnt be allowed to sign in concurrently with any others using the same cdkey or purchase) So, I hear the shared storage is large, but I dont really know how big relative to the as yet undefined pool of uniques/legendaries/sets etc..

D3 doesn't seem to have the need to stockpile a ton of gems (perf and chipped), runes, jewels etc, which should cut down on space drastically... D2 did however have over 350 unique items and 32 different sets. Assuming that some of these will have unique mods on them (or at least unique for their magnitude/slot/reqs) that would still be a ton of crap to store if you want to keep what you found for various build experiments.

I doubt blizzard would come in under the bar of D2's pool of items, given that the items are basically the core of the diablo games, so what do the beta people think: Not counting rares, runes, gems etc... If we get a unique/set item pool comparable to the size of D2s will we be able to fit it in our shared vaults, or will we be looking at the need to buy another account if we want to keep what we find (in both HC and SC)?

posted a message on Will you make 2 of 1 class?
I havent been following along like I probably should have, but what about muling?

I had to have 7 accounts in diablo 2 just to create enough characters to hold my set and unique loot, will I be able to create multiple accounts with the same CD like in D2 (although it had a low number of chars per account, you could in effect create enough chars to hold all your stuff from just your single CD key)

My fear is no, and that Bliz saw on opportunity to squeeze more money out of customers by making inventory space something we can no longer have for free.

(This worry is based on the way Bliz chose to implement its DRM on SC2, allowing only one account in battle.net and playing SC2 directly from that as opposed to allowing your DRM'd account to create multiple game accounts, which would still protect them via DRM)

Does anyone know the answer to this yet?

posted a message on Hardcore vs Softcore
I resurrected my account just cause this entire discussion seemed crazy...

HC and SC characters don't compete together, theres no point in comparing the two as they will never interact... I don't see how any diablo fan wouldn't want additional aspects of the game to explore... Hell, if the set of unique items for HC and SC were completely non-intersecting I'd be happy with that, its like 2 different game experiences.

How SC players could get their panties in a bunch about HC, when they have no intention of playing it is beyond me, and I think were the situation reversed HC players would be just as uptight about not having some impressive SC only item. Both parties have lost sight of the fact that HC doesnt impact SC and SC doesnt impact HC, play whatever you like best.

Personally I hope there are hardcore only items, and softcore only items, this would make my personal experience better because then it wouldnt be like playing the exact same game in SC as in HC, I'd get little differences to look forward to in each.
