Quote from Westy357» I'm enjoying watching Kongor, Modz, Ziss, and Hana but I would enjoy it a lot more if they let me in the beta.
I don't understand why they don't let in some more people, it is dead most of the time on Twitch.
*and Moldran but he is inactive with RoS atm
Honestly, if they don't do something, I feel like the game is going to turn into a barren wasteland again very quickly after release. The longevity factor just is simply not there at all. Right now it just feels like a very short term game, which is a terrible thing for a Diablo title.
Pretty much everyone on my friends list has already stopped logging into the beta, 5 of whom are employees and they all still have a negative opinion of the game. And when none of my friends want to play, that puts me off as well.
Personally I'm in the camp that would prefer they focus on PvP before moving forward, but I would definitely like to see something like this eventually.
look, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, we both obviously think differently of Blizzard, I'll stick to my guns for a patch 2.0 next year in march-april followed by Ros in Q2, and that's wishful thinking.
'Course, it would be nice if I would get a PM from you saying gosh preacher, you were right
I'm just going off how they've done things in the past, every time it's the same pattern.
The game has also been in a company-wide testing phase for 2 months already, and the next step after that is always closed beta.
So you agree that the patch could hit and after that we'll have beta for a 2 month release after the patch 2.0, right? Which means that what you say abot closed beta this year would mean that ptr for patch 2.0 should hit... dunno, tomorrow?
That sucks, I hope the actual beta isn't going to be that limited. I understand act 5 is limited for spoilers, but there's really no logical reason to limit character levels.
If they do that, we're going to have the same issue original D3 did. Where the openly tested levels 1-13 were very polished, but most of the stuff beyond was an unpolished mess.
Blizzard isn't even bothering to delete threads on the official forums. I went there and the first thread I saw has been there for over 8 hours with a direct link to the video in the OP.
At this point there's no logic in blocking it. Blizzard doesn't care enough to even attempt to contain it.
^^Let's hope so.
I was in the beta, and that thing had next to nothing in terms of testable stuff. Seriously, levels 1-13? There's nothing to 'break' at those levels.
They could test some server loads, I suppose, but it was mostly pointless (in my opinion).
I'm hoping there will be no heavy restrictions this time around (aside from most of act 5 being blocked off). And possibly let us transfer our level 60's or create premades.

Closed beta comes before the patch, so nope.

"and our pre-expansion patches typically hit between 2 weeks to 2 months before"
But I sohuldn't need to link that post for you to know that, because that's how all of their games work.
Beta>>Pre expansion patch>>Official game release

The "open beta" estimate doesn't really make sense, but closed beta seems pretty likely this year.

I didn't pry for exact details, so I don't know the extent of how far they will let us progress.
