posted a message on Diablo 3 Boredom Poll
the auction house ruined the game for me. nobody trades gear or anything, the sense of community that was there in the first few weeks of gameplay is all but gone. everyone just hits 60 then decks their character out and starts raping inferno. Shouldn't have put the AH in the game, i no longer have any reason to play. sucks, considering how long and rabidly i awaited this game.

posted a message on Hit detection broken, dodging impossible
yeah anybody who says this is right just because it's intended to be this way, how do you explain the phenomenon of PATCHING!? when they correct a mistake they made, and things become better for the player, everybody rejoices. as far as i'm concerned, i deserve 100% control of my character, and as an aussie who is already FORCED to play with more than 200ms at all times, the hit detection is absolutely fucked. you should be able to dodge attacks. it should be skill based. D2 hit detection wasn't this fucked and you still couldn't run to bosses without getting raped unless you had teleport, because you would just get swarmed, that is how you solve the problem, and that argument that 'you would be able to run to the boss without fighting' is essentially kaput.

It's Diablo - game all about finding and trading items. If you don't like AH then don't use it, simple as that.

Thanks for your input. I feel that it oversimplifies the real situation, but duly noted. I really want to stay away from conversations about self-found progression etc. Too volatile lately, lol.

The problem with 'just not using the AH' is that you are constantly behind other people in power. You might say, why does that matter? it matters because when you are in a game with 3 other people, and you are doing significantly less damage, or dying all the time, it has a mental toll, namely it makes the game not as fun, who likes feeling like they are being carried all the time? For me i feel like it takes some fun out of the multiplayer.. which is all this game has now... I realise it is far too late to simply remove the AH from the game now, and i've accepted that because of this, D3 will never be the game i wanted it to be. I have 3 60's because leveling is the only fun part for me now xD i will probably play more when expansions come out and everything is fresh and the economy is fucked up, because that's the time when the community actually has a sense of, well, community. People sharing items and trading for other items is far more satisfying than the extremely UN-personal AH.... This is a rant and a proud one. I said it so that OP didn't have to.

Hardcore sounds fun but my shitty aussie internet can't pull better than 200ms, at least in other games... in d3 i get like 300 or more all the time but anyway.. rubber banding sucks

or JarBlow III return of the chests,
That's how we call the game now, with some friends ^^
thank god they fixed royal crypts and Act 4...but they forgot to patch the gold chest in acts 3 Town next to the merchand!

I've spent soo much time killing jars, chests and barrels in this game, way more then doing actual stuff.
    does anyone feel the same?
    nope, ive been killing monsters

Ya, i've been killing the hoarder of treasure too.
lol, i didn't even know people were actually farming dank cellar until i had already cleared act 1, by monsters i meant everything up to and including the butcher with 5 stacks :) its quite lucrative.. and much more fun than smashing pots..

    Quote from Prancer

On my barbarian with his massive 7k dps. The whole took 1 hour and 15 minutes, ish. Perhaps an enrage timer would be in order so undergeared people like me who's good at dodging things can't just walk in and kill the hardest boss in the game.

    Thoughts?

an enrage timer would suck on diablo, this isn't WoW, also congrats on your victory, if it took an hour and 15 mins then thats a pretty epic fight... but yeah just because u chose to do it that way doesnt mean thats the easiest way to do it lol

posted a message on Hit the Wall
    Quote from thatoneman

Let me start off by saying that i really like this game.

With that said, i've hit a wall. i dont know what to do now. i am starting to get bored. yes, it could be because i have close to 80 hours but idk.

i have a lvl 60 but i cant seem to progress anymore. i am stuck on act2 quest 1 inferno. i have been farming inferno act 1 for about a week now and not a single upgrade i need. the royal crypts have been nerfed so cant gold farm there anymore either.

im getting bored of the farming and not getting a single upgrade.

i even spent 2 hours getting the mats for the secret level and then i did it on hell and didnt receive a single good item. its secret level hell. i would think there would be some, i mean at least one

and the ah cant help me because i am poor and my gear is so bad id need a ton of gold.

i started a new char and about a hour in i was already bored of doing the same thing that i spent doing on my main.

i just really like this game but dont know what to do at the moment. i go on and after maybe 15 minutes i get bored and i havent even played but twice this week.

any suggestions out there on what i can do?

yes, my suggestion is to take a break. i burned myself out pretty hard playing over 100 hours within the first couple of days, (playing more than not), and after i hit 60 and beat act 1 inferno i also hit the wall that is act 2. This discouraged me from continuing, so i started an alt, a barb, lvled him a bit, got bored, and stopped playing for a couple of days.... now im back into it, i farmed act 1 inferno repeatedly with 5 stacks of neph valor with some friends i met on the game, managed to find a bunch of nice rares and now my WD has 31k dps on the character sheet, and that's without buying anything from the AH. now im halfway through act 2 and it's much more cruisy.
POINT BEING; take a break, after waiting 12 years for the game its understandable that you have probably played the SHIT out of it in the last couple of weeks. but the game will still be here when u get back. just try and have fun progressing your character, its about the little victories, that gem upgrade that puts you over 50k hp, that pair of gloves that drops that shit's on your old pair, this kind of thing...

posted a message on witch doctor skill question
I know the game is about choice and all that, but i suggest both of you revise your decisions not to use soul harvest. It will increase your dps SO MUCH lol, like by double almost. I use the heal rune for it, but it doesn't really matter you just need the buff. Also, the poster above said it's too dangerous, if you use Spirit walk and time them together, rush in cast SH and rush out, you will never take damage and constantly have 5 stacks of SH. 2 slots might seem like a lot but idk i think it is definitely worth it for the damage.

the NV buff just adjusts your MF/GF score. anything that drops an item has a higher chance to drop a better item. So it works on every boss and every mob

what i did through to 60 was pick the 2 passives that give you mana, one is the flat 20% and the other is the 300% regen whenever u have spells on CD. Third passive i chose the 20% extra damage for 30% extra mana cost. Then i had zombie dogs (life link when it was available), soul harvest, spirit walk (mana regen rune) and gargantuan. keep dogs and gargantuan constantly on cooldown, at the start of every fight spirit walk in, quickly soul harvest for 5, retreat before spirit walk ends, then u should have infinite mana for a few seconds. At this point, pick a high damage/mana cost aoe spell (my favorite was acid cloud) and SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM. u wont even need intelligence it will do so much damage you can focus on vitality (i had like 42k health by end of NM). At near 60 when u have access to zombie charger rune for bears, that is the most overpowered spell lol, i love it, i use that for the spamming, atm each bear can crit for 35k damage if i have 5 stacks of soul harvest, and that is aoe.... that is my build.pm me if u wanna add me in the game i Shadough on americas.

posted a message on Has D3 lost their true diablo fans?
    Quote from Cowcaine

Or maybe they stay off these forums. I may be wrong but after being on this site for a couple of years and playing the beta since January, it feels like there are ALOT of WOW ans SC2 players and new diablo players buzzing around d3, in-game and out. There's nothing wrong with that but most of the complaints about D3 come from them. I keep seeing questions and topics being made and thinking to myself "Really? Have they even played D2?". I remember back in the day when people were drooling over just to get a Bonesnap Maul for their barb and when Magic Arrow was a nuclear bomb. has Diablo lost fans?

From what i have read it seemed that most complaints were actually coming from hardcore d2 vets, who don't like change.
I don't know why this has to be said, but playing WoW does not have anything to do with how big of a Diablofan you are. I played D2 from the time i got the battlechest with d1+d2, at maybe 12 years old, to now, i'm 20. I finished the game from start to finish hundreds of times, started dozens of characters and spend untold hours in baal runs and farming A1 pits.. I know a lot of people will have played more than me, but i am certain that i am a legit Diablo fan. I ALSO played WoW from launch until late in Cataclysm's life cycle. I love both games for diifferent reasons.
I get what you mean about some people's complaints though, and IMO people just need to trust Blizzard. They know more about game development than the players do, and sometimes people need to realise that sometimes what initially feels weird or different, is better in a tested environment

    Quote from Diktat

It will depend on the item level. Not all legendaries have the same iLvl.

Some rares will even have legendary-style item levels.

The best/rarest items will only drop off elite world bosses, unless you have Nephalem valor buff.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THIS ISN'T WOW. Usualy I just move along but seriously there are sooooooooo many things wrong in this comment I just couldn't help it. Sorry but seriously atleast stop using wow terms when diablo was there first

fyi diablo 2 had monsterlevels and itemlevels before WoW did, it just wasn't written on the tooltip..
