posted a message on Sharpshooter - a simple evaluation sheet
A problem with this analysis is that it's only assuming a single target. Unless I'm mistaken about the methodology, anyway.

Since most Demon Hunters are using abilities that hit many targets at a time (ball lightning), or at least have multiple attacks (devouring arrow), the critical chances per second is far higher than shots per second. This will drastically reduce how high Sharpshooter is allowed to stack before resetting. The model used here is only appropriate for modeling the effectiveness of Sharpshooter against a single target using a single damage source attack, such as impale, evasive fire, or multishot.

    Mouse Skills:
    Primary: Hungering Arrow/Devouring Arrow.
    Secondary: Impale/Chemical Burn.

    Action Bar Skills:
    Hunting: Companion/Bat Companion.
Devices: Fan of Knives/Hail of Knives.
    Hunting: Preparation/Backup Plan.
    Defensive: Smoke Screen/Displacement.

    Passive Skills:
Tactical Advantage, Steady Aim and Archery.

I'd say that an effective build needs a good single target skill, a good multiple target skill, and an escape tool. Honestly, I'd say you're lacking an effective AOE skill. Fan of Knives does great damage, but since it has a cooldown, and requires you to put yourself at risk in order to use it, it's not great for clearing stuff. It's a great skill, it just doesn't fulfill the AOE role in your build. It works perfectly well as a utility skill, however.

What it comes down to is that it takes an awful long time to take stuff down when you're only hitting one at a time, and Hungering Arrow and Impale are both single target skills (yes, technically HA can hit more than one target, but only one at a time, and only if it pierces. In other words, it does the same amount of damage against a single target as multi target).

If you want to keep FoK, I'd say to drop Impale for Ball Lightning, Frost Arrow, Multishot - Fire at Will, Cluster Arrow - Looking for Bear, or whatever you feel like using. I personally use Multishot right now. Impale and HA are both great skills, but if they're your only damaging skills, I think it's going to be tough unless your DPS is ridiculously high.

My stats are almost identical to yours, and I'm running this build for Act I farming :http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#aQZXVT!aYe!aacZbZ

posted a message on Potential cash out issue for Blizzard
There's a reason for blizzard to have a % based gold fee on the gold AH: it's a gold sink. there's no reason for them to do the same for the RMAH. In fact, to do so would hurt the viability of the RMAH, so I don't see it happening.

I think most likely you're looking at a listing fee under a dollar (my guess is $0.25)and at most a 5% cashout fee (paypal's current fees to send money are 2.9%). That's plenty within reason.

Until we have real numbers, it's kinda pointless to speculate further. If fees cost a player 30% per transaction, yes they'd have a problem. That's why I don't think they'll be anywhere near that high. Blizzard isn't stupid, and they want the RMAH to succeed.

Until we have details as to exactly how the system works, this is just speculation.

The RMAH isn't going to shut down all third party activities, and Blizzard didn't expect it to. It will shut down the majority of it, however. Most players would rather take a slightly smaller payout for the safety and security of going through Blizzard. Now how high that difference has to be before players will seek other means is going to vary (I have no idea where you're getting 30% from).

I think you also have to keep in mind that selling prices are not going to be the same on third party AH sites either. If I can buy the item for $30 in game, why the hell would I pay the same $30 to a third party site that isn't safe? Therefore, listing prices on third party sites will be lower. As the seller, you might lose less to fees, but you also won't be able to sell for as much either.

So how much cheaper does an item have to be for a buyer to be willing to take the risk? I'd say for most buyers, at least 10-15%. I suspect that will be more than the transaction costs of going through Blizzard, meaning the seller would end up with more going legit anyway.

For videos generated by those other than beta testers, I'm not sure how to tell which, if any, rune is being used. I have no idea where to find cast times in the skill calculator.
That's easy enough. Runes are not in the beta, so everything you are seeing is unruned. Cast times are not indicated anywhere offline, but most weapon skills are based on weapon speed.

Unfortunately, we're not able to answer your questions since neither of those skills is currently available in beta.

Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed with the DH changes.

One of the things I most liked about Diii was that each class has a unique resource system. When they were first all announced they weren't radically different, but enough to provide flavor for each class. Now it really feels like Barb, Monk, and DH are pretty close.

Fury and Spirit were different enough to be ok, but adding a third class that builds a resource with half their skills and spends it with the other half feels kinda lame. I expected a more creative solution to the problem, or more subtle.

I liked that the DH had to pace themselves in combat and balance skill usage between Hatred and Discipline spells. But now it looks like I could ignore Discipline entirely if I wanted to.

I'm glad that they're trying to solve the problems with the DH, but it really feels like they took the easy way out on this one.
