posted a message on With all the youtube videos..
    Quote from Emeraldtail

With all the HD youtube videos of the gameplay footage, I bet I've seen 90% of the beta anyway (just havn't gotten to "control" a character). I doubt playing the beta would be that different anyway. Actually, I'm okay not having gotten a beta key yet because it will make me appreciate the game more at release. Lol, who am I kidding...

Truthfully it is awesome to be able to actually play it, however it doesn't calm any desire for release, with only being able to play to the skeleton king I just found myself wishing I could go further and play more.

They likely don't have an integrate voice chat yet because they're (again) likely developing a general Battle.net voice system that integrates all Blizzard products.

Is this a guess or has blizzard made any comment on such a thing? that would be awesome.

    posted a message on Sets
    Quote from Mhurlz12

I'd like the sets to actually be meaningful in D3. In D2 Blizzard tried a bunch of funky stuff to get people to use them (think necromancer fireballs and change form?) but at the end of the day the market was oversturated with better items via ruins.

i think the auction house will be a great addition when trying to find all the peices to a set, could make them more viable mid to late game as transition items to inferno.

I have to say, from the streams i've seen all the top items in the beta are crafted. do we think it will be like that late game too?

nah I think late game will me more a mixture. I think the reason the top beta items are all crafted is because of the beta ending at the skeleton king. In the actual game people would not be capped there and by the time they were level 13 would further and picking up more comparable gear I think.

and that is one of them. my point is a substantial percentage are not viable. I am not saying there is not a huge amount of options and builds, I am just making the point that it doesn't matter how many are mathematically possible because only a certain percentage of those are practical and I don't know how that would be calculated.

posted a message on Six Skill Categories. Why don't they make sense?
    Quote from Burzghash

    Elective mode.

    Problem solved.

no see this about how they are categorized, not that we can't go thorugh and select any of them but the fact that the categories of skills don't completely make sense.

posted a message on I hope they change the Male Demon Hunter skin
    Quote from Flummox

It's just the running animations that really put me off.

I agree with this, after playing with the male demon hunter I thought his movement was a little weird, like he was permanently hunched over. Though I still did like the character overall, I didn't notice the movement after playing a little bit.

posted a message on Replayability and Hardcore
    Quote from okrane

What I mean is, hardcore is an achievement in itself. The only ones playing it will be the die-hards, because all you get is a banner or some stuff. Most players will even fear grouping with randoms, because having a bad ally can spell death and the end of your game.

The thing is I personally fail to see what hardcore is about. I mean, if it is about finishing inferno without dying, ok that's an achievement. However I would not play hardcore the same way softcore is played: what's the point in doing magic find in hardcore? You constantly risk your skin and risk losing hundreds of hours of playing and farming... it's maybe not for me, but personally, If I would be to play hardcore, I would just aim to finish inferno and that is all. doing more seems pointless and crazy.

From what I gather it is much more intense because everything is gone if your character dies. I think your right that it's only about beating inferno and that magic find would be used a lot less. I think the whole fun of it is the surviving part and that everything is on the line at every moment and that makes it really exciting. I personally will probably play hardcore after a lot of softcore.

Hardcore is so much different than softcore.
I would like it if there would be an end-goal for a Hardcore character like defeat Inferno Diablo, then you get the option to retire as having won the game or something. it would give Hardcore a goal recognised by everyone as well as an achievement system.

Without that, all only the most hardcore players will play hardcore (pun intended)

I thought that there were hardcore achievements and that the loot around the bottom of your banner thing came from achievements in hardcore.

    Quote from al15

Lol the launch date announcement is in the near future so the release date is still a long way off?

Probably at least a minimum 6 weeks from the announcement to the release. My guess would be about 8 weeks in between based on what has been said.

posted a message on Naming Mercs
I don't think it is in and I don't think it will be added. In all honesty I doubt there is that much demand for it. It's not that it's a bad idea I just don't think most people really care about naming there mercs that no one else can ever see.

Not trying to hate on your idea just trying to be realistic.
