I really feel that a lot of the "issues" people have with the Paragon 1.0 to 2.0 "XP conversion" and the economy and this and that stems from the fact that they quit because "LULZ GAME IS DEAD BLIZZ SUX" and now they're realizing that they are actually a good bit "behind" the millions of people who didn't quit but just came and went as they pleased (you know, how most of us played D2?) and now feel that allowing us to keep the rewards from that time investment is somehow "unfair."
And, I'm sure you can guess my stance on this: someone made the choice to quit, now toughen up and live with the consequences.
I think you greatly misunderstand my reasons for a wipe. I could care less how far behind I am nor do I feel that your rewards are "unfair." You worked hard for your items and should be rewarded, but the D3 economy is in shambles, no matter where you are in the pyramid of items. Maybe you just don't want to admit it because you feel you are "ahead."
Ask someone like Moldran if he thinks the economy is shit and if he thought a wipe would benefit the economy and overall game. I bet he'd say yes. Ask him if he'd like to see his gear and gold wiped. I bet he'd say no.
My post isn't what I think would be best for me, it's what I think would be best for the game. I have hundreds of millions of gold in my bank from before I took a break. Gold holds no value and the game would benefit from a reset. The AH is flooded with high-mid tier items, most of which also hold no value now. Loot 2.0 + 10 levels of new items will help to remedy this issue, but it won't remove the billions upon billions of gold.
